Sasha should reach out to Jordan Peterson about putting the censorship resistant Patreon alternative on the Waves blockchain. Everyone is talking about it since Patreon banned Sargon of Akkad and now everyone is closing their Patreon accounts!

A lot of good news, but the price does not grow 
Price is starting to move some. The tides are finally starting to turn. Waves is still very undervalued though. It took a rough beaten in this bear market. HODL Waves until it turns into a Tsunami!!!
I'll hold off on the champagne until Waves back in CMC top 20. Still, great day for Waves!

We need an airdrop to stimulate things on the waves platform, maybe to celebrate the release of the Client 1.0.0.
But why do you think that an airdrop will stimulate anything right now? Its giving away resources for free and who knows if anybody really becomes more active only because of an airdrop.
In fact waves just need adoption not airdrops lol. It will come with smart contracts on main net, I'm pretty sure.
And speaking about prices, every altcoin is going/went down, it's just the market right now! ICO price was around $0.19 btw
Yes not caring about the price right now as it's the same for every project, but as I said airdrops won't do anything for the price except for pushing it further down.
Yeah true , Airdrops and (printing) tokens like wct liquid is making WAVES like a joke project , i hope sasha do not focus on word airdrop at each time he speak about WAVES in big events and also they should stop (printing) new tokens and airdrop it to community , Just make WAVES more valuable that all what we want.

When you search "waves" in the related page first exchange to trade wave token is ranked 41.
So maybe a hudge work to list wave in big exchange.
remember that waves went frm 15 to 49 in 1 year.

I must reluctantly agree. Each major upgrade to Waves project has had little effect on price.
Though I don't think it is fair to criticize on the basis of price alone during a bear market, watching Waves forfeit its market share into utter obscurity (#49 CMC) has been very discouraging.
90% of Ivanov's efforts and budget should be toward marketing at this point, in my opinion...
...and going to New York or Berlin to give a sighing, stammering, autistic presentation to a bored audience does not count as marketing.

Look, Sasha said back in January or March, "MARKETING IS ON" and then a few months later suddenly announces a new project using technology paid for by Waves investors, with the bulk of the coins going to rich investors with 500K+ to invest. As I said, he has form in doing this, though at least in his earlier projects, he wasn't so elitist. He was paid MILLIONS to make Waves a success, and so he should stick with Waves until it becomes a success, to pay for the advance he was given, NOT promote a new project and say, "Waves was the second-most successful ICO at the time" - that means nothing! To date, not a single project of his has been successful.
The new makeover given to Waves exchange is also worrying - why is it being changed suddenly? Is everything being done on the hoof?
It's NOT my job to shill for Waves - Sasha should be promoting HIS product, but he's too lazy to bother - he takes Waves holders for fools.
He abandoned people in the past, coinomat, so I've lost faith in the guy. IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM!

Hey TomThumb, why you think marketing is the key of success here? For sure things can be improved by the Waves team, but the platform is progressing with regular updates, soon smart contracts and atomic swaps are expected. Looking at facts, Waves team is still committed to this platform. Regarding Vostok, the intention is to complement the Waves platform, as centralized institutions will not work with public open blockchains. I compare it to Windows home and Windows Enteprise, both the same basic tech, but each serving a different market. Creating new funds for Vostok makes sense as the current Waves funds can remain to be used for the Waves platform developments. The strenght of the Waves platform is not only it's ICO platform, but a combined platform where ICO and DEX works together. Volumes on DEX are increasing daily and has the highest volumes of any DEX platform currently available. Good times ahead for Waves. If you still believe in Waves, keep positive and help contributing to the project instead of complaining. If you dont, sell your Waves tokens and move on with your life.

Sure, Vostok can be a risk,, but the Waves team has identified a problem and tried to respond accordingly.
Many other projects look straight ahead without reacting to external changes.
On the day that the WAVES price rises exponentially, most critics will say, as far as they are still invested:
"I have never doubted that waves will be a success."
Anyone who has prematurely sold in impatience and frustration will be annoyed accordingly.
I'll say it again, the current prices of each project are not meaningful.
To TomThumb, thanks for explaining Waves/Vostok relationship. Yes, Waves is a great project with a diligent team. However, complaining is just as valuable as hollow fan-boy endorsement. And no one is gonna sell their tokens and move on at $2.95. Get real.
To patoperro, yes it's about profit. Watching Waves fall below Dogecoin (a literal joke coin) on CMC is scandalous, and speaks to poor marketing. We are right to express our concerns.

I agree with you, that the marketing thus far has been lackluster. This is why such a superior project has slid down to 42nd valued blockchain.
To be fair, I don't expect there is much they can do in such a bear market to increase value, at least in the short term.
I hope they are using this time to plan a spectacular marketing campaign. Sasha was very pleased to raise 16million USD for his project in 2016, saying it was more than enough money for his team to develop the Waves platform. Now those Bitcoins are worth far more, so I don't know what else they need to sit on them for.
The "organic growth" marketing strategy is stingy and sucks. Time for Waves to start making waves.

Coinomat service is a separate project and and Waves partner. Waves Platform does not regulate any affairs connected to that service. All the questions related to Waves Platform can be answered on any Waves channels. Might be his ambition! A few months ago it was "marketing is on!"; now, it's "open blockchain isn't really taking off, so I'm going to focus on corporate and government uses, and only me and my rich mates will be able to invest in this new project."
Who do you think he's more likely to screw over - the plebs holding Waves or his newfound rich friends holding Vostok?
He has a moral obligation to make Waves a success before moving on to another project. His new project has nothing to do with bringing synergy to Waves. I didn't realize that when he said "marketing is on", he meant propaganda for Waves holders in order to pull the wool over their eyes.
marketing is the community forum where they block any new user and discuss who they should ban next. They ignore the best performing asset on waves exchange and hype up a bee keeper coin! YEAH!! Go Vostok!

This thread is dominated by bots posting mindless repetitive garbage to boost the page count, the amount of useful informative posts is very low, almost makes this thread pointless to follow. At least when a thread is over run by FUD it can help if the fud raises concerns that get addressed, the shill fest we have here achieves nothing.
Agreed. I suspect a lot of the old FUD posters made so much money last year they've retired. Or perhaps they moved on to sexier projects. Who cares about #40 alt coin? We need a new gen of nay-sayers. This thread is boring, and the price moves when the market moves, regardless of Waves milestones. Full nodes release (Oct. 2016), DEX release (Feb. 2017), "fastest blockchain" upgrade (Dec. 2017). Nothing team actually does has yet affected a big break-out. Why will smart contracts be any different?

At first, the non-Turing complete contracts using RIDE language will implementation process of smart contracts via smart assets and smart accounts. Itll be focussing on account handling and making Waves much more secure, flexible and powerful. In the second stage, the implementation of Turing-complete contracts using RIDEON language was completed. Waves outdid its several competitors with their phased approach towards the launch of smart contracts.
