Re: Roger Ver to dump his 250k worth of bitcoins
by
Serellyn

He is dumb as hell, but 250 thousand dollars is not going to affect the market, it is impossible because not even 1 billion dollars could move the price for more than $10 on the actual price.
But those 250k could move bitcoin cash value, maybe more than $10 or at least $15, it is not much money but everything makes sound if we talk about bitcoin cash.
I dont know what is his real point, maybe he wants to destroy bitcoin, and he is actually doing it , but what the hell, why did he wanted to do this JUST now??

The amount of bitcoins he plans to sell actually amounts to almost 150 Million USD. I'm pretty sure that if he sells all the coins, bitcoin prices will crash and bitcoin cash prices will rise.
To me, this is an elaborate pump and dump, hype that he will generate by buying that amount of bitcoin cash will skyrocket the price of the currency, he will then sell it at a profit for much more bitcoin than he bought it for in the first place.

I'm really interested in seeing if one person can dictate the price of bitcoin.

its funny how other tell us not to worry on unconfirmed transactions.
I mean man how can you trade if you cant confirm? where it the trading there? how can it grow?
having 100k plus unconfirmed transactions if not solve will kill bitcoin itself..

high fees and slow confirmation then we are doom Sad sad

We tell you not to worry because this is not the first it has happened and it will surely happen again, if you really need to trade that much, pay an above average fee or use one of those services that will mine your transaction for you once the fee isn't too small. As said, this has happened before, this will not have long term effects on bitcoin.

Re: 126K unconfirmed transactions right now...

The number of unconfirmed transactions is huge. And it's rising. I'm waiting for some of my transactions to be confirmed over 24 hours. Could it be this some kind of miners pressure because the fork was cancelled and now they are trying to change this? Maybe I'm paranoic but it seems to me this is not accidental. Like someone wants to prove their point.

There have been past instances of people sending out transactions between addresses owned by themselves to put pressure on the network in the past but this is quite expensive so I don't think that is what is taking place right now. The total fees that they would have to pay to send all those transactions would be astronomical.

https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

126K unconfirmed transactions and climbing.   Huh Huh

What happens if it goes to 200k?  500k? what if the miners dip out and no transactions can even be confirmed?  Undecided

The network will soon start to reject some of the older transactions and the transactions with the higher fees will get confirmed, the situation will fix itself soon. When there are thousands of backlogged transactions, the average transaction fee goes up which gives miners an incentive to keep mining, I'm certain that the miners will continue to mine. If they stop for some reason, i guess that the network will reject the transactions and the coins would be returned to the wallet that they're being sent from.

ohh, thank you.  I didn't know that, thanks for shedding some light on it  Smiley

no problem

Antonio Conte has demanded some terms and he will refuse to extend his contract with the club before his requests are met. He wants from Chelsea board to sugn Timoe Bakayoko from Monaco, Lukaku  from Everton and Sandro from Juventus during the summer transfer period to prepare for next season's Champions League.According to news reports today, Chelsea are close to extending the contract of the Italian coach, raising his salary to 10 million pounds a year, while Conte is currently receiving 6.5 million pounds sterling

I think Conte is just pissing on his territory, letting Abramovich know he wants money & a lot of it. Chelsea will spend a lot, I have no doubt about that, they always do. They're in the CL this season too so need a bigger squad with more games

Maybe he shouldn't piss too hard because there's a manager who's looking for a new job that's a perfect fit to replace him.  If I was Abramovic, and Conte throws a fit, I'd replace him with this guy in a heart beat.  Read below.  Enjoy!  Wink

Former Barcelona Manager in Chelsea's Sights
https://www.whoscored.com/News/gNYD6eNVsk28Lh_lyDUFhw/Show/Former-Barcelona-manager-in-Chelseas-sights

I am convinced that Chelsea will make at least 3-4 big purchases this year and will be one of the favorites in champion's league.
Conte  wants Bonucci and Alex Sandro in defense, Babayoko midfield and a great striker: Lukaku or Lewandowski.
With these purchases Conte would have a very strong team

Chelsea has to, to maintain EPL championship and to compete well in the FA Cup, League Cup and the CL.  I think they also want Alexis Sanchez, which seems like a good fit in the club.

As for being favorites in the CL, I doubt it pretty much.  It's gonna be the usual suspects.  Barca, Real, Bayern.  you know how it is...

Yes, maybe Chelsea will not win the champion's League next season but the Conte project is just beginning and if it's going to buy other top players in 2 years it will be ready to compete for the champion's victory.
At this moment Chelsea already has 2 of the strongest players in the world: Hazard and Kanté. For me Chelsea must buy a very strong defender (Bonucci), and a top striker.
Azpilicueta was the most solid defender in the league last season, he is nothing short of world class. Hopefully we will sign bonucci and Alex Sandro to bolster the defense but remember that we had one of the best defenses in Europe last season. I'm pretty sure that we can sign Lukaku but I'm hoping we can get Lewandowski, Lewa has been the best out and out striker of the last 5 or so seasons.

If you don't have a copy of your private keys then it is very unlikely that you will regain access to your money. If you have the keys just make a new wallet and import the keys. I'm not too familiar with the security protocols in place at blockchain.info but I don't think that you will be able to recover your account without the password or the phrase.

I store the little Bitcoin that I have in an online wallet (block chain.info). Most people are opposed to storing Bitcoin on online clients but I haven't run into any problems thus far. I keep a copy of my private keys in a .txt file on my computer and in cloud storage.

Meh..  Good riddance.  I never liked Costa much and hated him when it was rumored that he was downing tools when Mourinho was still managing Chelsea.  That kind of person has no honor and he doesn't deserve to play in the top clubs of Europe.  It's better for him to sell out and do a big money move to China.

You make some good points there to be honest, he is a bit of an asshole. I don't know how he hasn't been sent off more times, always seems to get away with stuff.

Chelsea should cash in, you're right.

If Chelsea lose Costa they will get good money for him & replace him with a great striker. They are EPL Champions & now have CL football so they can attract a good replacement.
Yea now Conte is not worrying about this because he has some good funds and can replace with some more and good skilled striker after winning this year EPL and have chance for next season in UCL hopefully few will be interested like Rodriguez or Morata

I rather think Conte should be very worried, having funds available alone is not that good, availability of the players should be important as well and also if the player wants to move, Conte would have been wise to secure the services of another striker before telling Costa he was no longer needed.
Yeah, not many world class strikers on the market this summer transfer window. I like Costa at times but he is a bit of a snob. He even switched countries to get better opportunities to win the world cup(from Brazil to Spain) which didnt work at all. I think now he's back with Brazil. Which is a dick move on the whole. Cant wait to see who'll join chelsea. They do a ha lot of players loaned who will be on the way back. They could challenge United to get Morata into their ranks.
Costa can't just switch countries like that, he can only play for Spain. The Morata transfer seems to be near completion so I think it's too late to hijack his move to united. I seriously doubt that Conte would tell Costa to leave without getting a replacement and from what I have read, it's near certain that we will sign Lukaku. I also think that we will sign James but I'm not convinced about him, I honestly don't think he is good enough.

@OP what's the total fee that you paid?
From what you've said, I think its best for you to wait 72 hours and allow the transaction to disappear, the coins will go back into your wallet and then you can just resend it with a better fee. Doing this manually is too troublesome

If united won today then the race for the top four would be much better, I cant wait for the end of the season to see who gets the remaining 2 champions league places. I am sure that Wenger will be fired in the summer if arsenal finish below fourth but I just don't see them finishing with more points than both Manchester clubs. I don't know about you guys but im quite happy to see that Pep Guardiola is struggling to finish fourth in the premier league after he dominated la liga and bundesliga, this just goes to show how hard the league is. I think the Bravo injury is a blessing in disguise for Man City, he shouldn't be anywhere near such a big club.

If the fee is at least 0.0001BTC then use this website to get your transaction confirmed within a few hours. The people who run that site are miners, if your fee is 0.0001BTC or higher then they will include your transaction in the next block that they mine, this shouldn't take long as they mine a few blocks per day.

If you really don't want to just go ahead and start a new account, just spend some time building your reputation here and request a name change in a couple of years, if you are a solid member of the community and you have a good reason to want to change your username then theymos will change it, i think I've seen that happen once already.

@OP unless you can get your bank to reverse the transaction then there you probably wont be getting your money back. For future reference, try to trade with highly ranked members of the forum with solid trust ratings. Just call or email your bank in the morning and see what they can do. Please attach some screenshots with the conversations that you had with the person who scammed you to prove that this actually happened, you should also try to attach some screenshots to prove that the transaction went through.

Re: Cloud Mining Viable in 2017?
by
Serellyn
on 27/04/2017, 21:14:31 UTC
Cloud mining has never been viable since each gh/s of mining power you buy has the cost of electricity plus other fees attached to it. Just normal mining is difficult, therefore, cloud mining is a waste of time, especially if you invest in that little hashrate. Be careful of which cloud mining sites you use if you decide to go into cloud mining, 9/10 of them are ponzi schemes that call themselves cloud mining sites. If you want to get into mining, then buy the equipment on your own and run your mining operation from somewhere where you wont have to pay for electricity (like work).
