Honestly i do not know how are they still alive. They are so old fashioned and tremendously overpriced and have shady tactics as well, they get extra money by using bad currency exchange rate.
I know that there are online versions for their services in FEW countries which includes U.s. , but for the rest of the world it is used mostly by scammers or old people who are not familiar with never technology.
Well, actually Western Union is fairly alive, with market capitalization about 9.5 billions, which is about ten times less than PayPal, but still ten times larger than Moneygram. And for the last 5 years WU experiences slow but constant growth.
I fear that the banking system is going no where so soon. Ripple is the best bet for the time being beyond bitcoin.
The number of women trading in the crypto money trade is less than men. But I know that women are more patient and predictable in trade. There are female traders who made money among my friends.
A lot of women are averse to tech. I dont know if its a conscious choice - but it looks like that a lot of times.

I think there is a fine balance between how much coins can you leave on an exchange without any fear vs keeping all of it in exchanges. At current rates, anything under 1 BTC is perfectly reasonable imo.
