Hey team and community. Is SPF 'dead and burried' already? I see the value has gone down to near nothing, no serious news about the project, no new exchanges, looks like the token was another ICO scam and some convinced us to get our money to go on vacation or work in other projects.

@SPF Team, please let us know if there are any plans for SPF and any chance that its value might worth something in the future because of serious development and actions, or we should lose our hopes. Please be courageous enough to speak the truth... what's lost is lost. Thank you

Hello cryptomember, welcome to Bitcointalk.
No, SportyCo is not dead. The platform was updated so now it has a wallet implemented on the website itself.
We have plans of course. Currently, we are working on the implementation of an external payment processor which will enable investments directly with a credit card. And we are always looking for new campaigns but we must say that interest in creating campaigns is lower now in a bear market then it was in the bull run.
You can read more about our future plans here: State of the Project – March 2019 Edition

sport and so not Hilo Finance in all countries, especially in Europe. All athletes are millionaires. And you still want to feed them?!

Those athletes who are millionaires don't need funding and our plan is not to invest in them.
Our targeted athletes are promising athletes who aren't really earning anything yet. But the expenses are already very high. You can read our blog which writes just about this problem: Dear sport, you cost too much

Dear sport, you cost too much

A worried mom of three was shocked at finding out how much youth sports cost. With her husband they are pretty solid middle-class Americans, so they are able to provide extracurricular activities for their kids. But they have to say no to a lot of requests, so she can’t understand how families who are further down the economic spectrum do it.

The project is pretty cool however it is old concept and there's nothing new or unique lols
Today barrier for investing in sports in pretty high. Average Joe can't afford investing. So this is something which hasn't been around yet.

SPF token got listed on Bitcratic. https://twitter.com/bitcratic/status/1072405960088526849

Olympic athletes on their own to fund their costs

Mike Trapp has been a competitive snowboarder for most of his life. He has made his way up the rank after years of hard work, became U.S. snowboarding champion in 2011 and 2012, and completed his 7th season competing on the World Cup team. Mike also made the team USA for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, which was one of his biggest dreams, but came with quite a hefty price tag he had to cover by himself.

Three part-time jobs to get to the Winter Olympics and then quit

Ski jumping has been a Winter Olympics sport since 1924, but only as a men discipline. First women’s event was held only at the 2014 Olympics after a group of fifteen competitive female ski jumpers filed a lawsuit against the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. One of this plaintiffs was also Abby Ringquist, a 29-year-old former U.S. ski jumper, who decided to retire after her Olympic debut in 2018.

I see no new campaigns on Sportyco, are you still committed to your original goal? Did you implemented the fiat gateway (that's what I remember, maybe I'm wrong)?
Yes we are still committed to our original goal - to create a decentralized sports investment and funding platform. We need to discuss some details with our partner for FIAT gateway, but it is also part of update for which final tests are ongoing. So we hope we will be able to close the deal as soon as possible.

Day jobs of Winter Olympic athletes

Nina Roth, a 30-year-old professional curler, finally met her dreams and made her Olympic debut at the 2018 Winter Olympics with the USA Team. But to achieve that she had to work extra hard at the full-time job she has as a registered nurse. She doesn’t have lucrative sponsorship deals as some Olympic standouts, so she had to make ends meet otherwise. “It’s difficult to balance the two,” she admits. “But I wouldn’t feel fulfilled without both of them.”

Happy 1st birthday SportyCo. Smiley
Hold on through this tough times and try to work on platform as much as possible, so when crypto recovers people will have ability to use SportyCo platform for real use case - then marketing should become priority. Good luck in future!
Thank you! Smiley This is our plan.

We wish all SportyCo supporters a Merry Christmas and happy, successful year 2019. May all your wishes come true.

It’s been a year

On November 21, 2017, the SportyCo Token Crowdsale started. And the rest is, as they say, history.

Today, with the cryptocurrency market bleeding and all hodlers in a crunch, revisiting November 2017 seems very distant. The SportyCo project origins began in spring 2017, with the founders putting their ideas and knowledge together and searching for a killer app to revolutionize the sports industry. But November 21 was the date when an idea slowly started to become reality.

In the three weeks of the crowdsale we have achieved a lot: soft cap reached in less than 24 hours, over $5 million contributed, mostly by small investors, and a long list of supporters and endorsers from the sports industry, including legends of their respective sports, like Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho, Noriaki Kasai, Sava Milošević, and many others.

We also got a lot of traction among prominent crypto enthusiasts and supporters – especially after the ICO, when the idea became a business and our potential advisors have seen that the model is sound. Charlie Shrem, Phillip Nunn, Robby Schwertner and Kevin Harrington — with Kevin becoming an integral part of the SportyCo family — are just some of the names supporting our project.

Where are we a year later? We’ve had a lot of ups, with the platform, released in March, being one of the first projects in the crypto world presenting a working product. There were also some (but not many) downs, some of our own making, and some related to the general bleeding of value in the crypto world, scaring away potential newcomers and making existing cryptocurrency enthusiasts, well, a bit less enthusiastic, harming the adoption of all crypto-related products and requiring a rewrite of the platform to make it much more user friendly.

They say a typical startup needs 3-5 years from initial concept to a working, viable business. We’re in this for the long haul, and our journey has just begun.

Happy anniversary to the whole SportyCo community and a special thank you to all supporting us from the beginning.

Can’t pay? Can’t play!

Kathleen Castles, now a 46-years-old doctor of psychology and running coach at two Veterans Affairs hospitals in New Jersey, loved sports as a child and was a very talented athlete. She managed to beat all the other elementary-school girls in the town’s annual mile race from third to sixth grade, competed at the regional cross-country meet in Connecticut, and every year qualified for the Junior Olympic Nationals. When she was 10, she ran the mile in 5min and 35sec.

CROWDSALE ENDED
Soft Cap of 8,000,000 AVAI Tokens being sold was not reached. In accordance with the White Paper now the process of returning the invested funds will start. We will contact the investors individually in due time. In case you have any questions please contact us at support@avaifc.io.

Too bad.

How much was raised?

Did you consider carrying on with the tokens despite not reaching the soft cap?

I think it's a waste of finances to call it off but ... you know better. I guess Smiley

5,020,416.63 AVAI tokens were sold in the crowdsale. The soft cap of 8,000,000 was not reached.

The crowdsale will not be continued. An end date was pre-configured into the smart contract.

Thank you everyone for your support!

Avaí FC Token Crowdsale has ended

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. The AVAI Token Crowdsale has ended after a strong showing, as it failed to reach the soft-cap.

Setting up an ICO under current circumstances in the cryptocurrency world is almost a mission impossible – investor confidence is low, the crypto market cap is lower than any time in 2018 and everyone is hodling and waiting for the storm to pass.

We knew we were facing an uphill battle when we started this project, and in the end we have to wrap it up a bit short of our goal — with over $5 million contributed, with a large number of small investors participating, and with putting both Avaí FC and SportyCo on the radar of several hundred news outlets all over the world — so a lot of good came from this project, even if the end result is not perfect.

What’s next?
For crowdsale contributors: As the soft cap wasn’t reached, all funds contributed will be returned to the contributors. Information on the return process will be sent out to everyone in the next days.

For Avaí FC: Four more games before the end of the season Avaí FC is in a good position to fulfill their season goal – return to the top flight of Brazilian football! Fingers crossed!

For SportyCo: We’re really happy to have been a part of this historic project – the first proper cryptocurrency project by an established sports club. And next we will focus on the imminent launch of our upgraded platform, and we have, as always, some ideas for new exciting activities connecting sports and crypto.

but I don't think their support is very lacking, it is a pity

Agreed with you this sounds really bad it is legit project and this was big opportunity to invest in big soccer club. Anyway this is part of the journey but it was good effort maybe due to bad market conditions big investors are still in doubts I hope in future they will get better response with this concept.

Thank you! We appreciate your support.

Top 10 highest-paid female athletes of 2018

According to a BBC Sport’s research, there is an equal prize money reward for men and women in 35 out of 44 sports that provided the information, but counting in also the off-court earning opportunities, only female tennis seams to be at least in the same universe as men’s.

The first tournament to offer equal prize money to both men and women was the U.S. Open in 1973, and tennis remains the highest-paid female sport till today, with eight out of 10 top-paid athletes in 2018. Together all ten managed to collect $105 million on and off-court in the 12-month period, until June 2018, which is less than a salary of each of the first three highest-paid athletes of 2018. This was also the first time no women made it to the top 100 since Forbes expanded their list to 50 names in 2010. Still, looking at the numbers, one can not really complain.

Check which 2 female athletes in top 10 doesn't play tennis, you may be surprised.

Awesome that things are moving forward in the sports industry. Did sportyco also invest in avai like a sponsor or?

SportyCo provides the crowd management and organization for the AVAI token.

What happens to project if not reached softcap?

If AVAI does not reach the softcap then all funds will be refunded to those that contributed.

SportyCo provides the crowd management and organization for the AVAI token. There was also an AVAI presale on the SportyCo platform. Other than this, the projects are separated. It might be a better idea, so as to avoid confusion, to ask about the development and future of the SportyCo platform/project in the SportyCo Bitcointalk thread instead:

will SportyCo host any other project in near future?

Yes, SportyCo is actively seeking athletes, clubs and organisations to engage on the imminent platform relaunch. You can find further relevant information in the following articles:

Correct. That AVAI crowdsale will end on 5 November 2018, 13:00 UTC.

There is currently a weekly giveaway offering up to 500 SPF to the most active and engaged Telegram members.

I think it needs to be explained more clearly about the steps that will be taken to realize the vision and mission of this project. It also needs to be explained about the allocation of funds collected. and it is also necessary to describe the roadmap and delevolpment of the project.

Nearly all of this is discussed in the whitepaper. Please take a read and let me know if you have any further questions:

Why it says finished ?

That is the presale which took place on the SportyCo platform. The normal crowdsale runs until 5th November.

Can I get in the question and answer? Well so than we can not contribute anymore with SPF ticker sportyco tokens ? just normal credit card cash ?

You can still contribute via BTC, ETH and credit card in the normal crowdsale.

and one and only official link is www.avaifc.io  right?

Yes, that is correct. https://avaifc.io
