Seems many people treat bitcoin like an asset given how much it's gone up over the last year or so. But some academics disagree with that assessment. If it is to be treated as a currency, it will need to stabilize to be of use.

Please help me understand in plain English how will we benefit from so many currencies?
I see so many startups with decentralized blockchain ideas with their own crypto currency.
Today I purchased oatmeal directly from a mill at their website.
This mill sells its products thru grocers and other online stores as well.
They probably gave 3% to the credit card company, which they could reduce by using blockchain.
But if every store and every business starts creating their own currency, then I will have to go thru an exchange to convert BTC or ETH to that coin to make some purchase.
Then we would need miners to process all those transactions in various coins.
Why can't they just use ETH? Just like all IPOs use dollars.

ICOs, yes. Crypros, yes. Bitcoin? Not necessarily. When the others do crash, Bitcoin is just going to become even more valuable. It has the advantage of being the first and the established one (and specifically less manipulated than Ether over the ICO craze)

Breaking news on TV. Mass shooting 57+ dead. Almost as high as automotive crash deaths in a typical day in the US. Las Vegas Nevad. He shot from a hotel room window down to a big crowd at a music festival. They say the shooter shot himself. According to TV, the shooter's home as been searched and the garage door on his home is completely destroyed. What's up with that?
Enough people were killed to get close to the number of vehicle accident deaths in a typical day in the US, which is around 92.
These kinds of things are usually orchestrated by the government. Why? Gun control? Blaming it Islam?
He probably could have used several an RPGs and done more damage. But he used a gun, which is typically what's done to support the gun control agenda when a bomb could have otherwise been used to do more damage.
Sandy Hook turned out out to be a lie. The school wasn't even open and the victims were all fictitious characters. Is it some kind of government test to see what people will believe?
The target was a County Music concert, not some music festival full of extreme left hippies. If the government was involved in making it happen then they wouldn't want to target their own supporters.
Just think of how things like this happen all the time in Iraq and similar places but when we read about it we don't think much of it. Another 70 people killed in a bombing is just another day.
Is it possible that foreign terrorists actually did this but the police found an innocent man to blame it on? It makes perfect sense if you think about it. They went in, killed the terrorists, then they checked a gun ownership database for all people in the building, which is easily obtained from the all cell phones located in the building. Then they found someone who owned guns, went and got him then put him in the terrorist's room and shot him. This would explain why the news is saying he may have checked in under a false name, since he wouldn't have actually been in that room. And it explains why two windows were broken and how so many people died in such a short time. Audio recordings will tell if multiple guns fired at once. The real terrorists were then smuggled out of the building. The raid of the man's home then fixed any descrepencies of evidence needed to be done. I'm almost sure any security camera recordings were confiscated first thing. Now that all that's covered up the cover story can be used for more gun control, and the terrorist act is defeated in the best way possible way. Even if ISIS claims to be behind the attack, if nobody believes them then it doesn't matter.

I am wondering what provisions have you all made in case you die before cashing out your bitcoins? I am single, live alone and both my parents are deceased. My siblings dont care about any of this, however I would like my nieces and nephews to get some of my profits but they are still very young right now. I dont trust lawyers to give them my private keys. I am wondering, what can I do?
put everything you've got on a flash drive and leave it in a banks vault? Then leave in the will the password or whatever to the one you think he'd use it the most. That's what I'd do or maybe send keys to some charity and write somewhere on how to use it.

Bitcoin Inflation can't be compared to Inflation from Fiat Currencies.

This is not really true. I've received my reward just like the friend of mine. Maybe some cheaters didn't receive any indeed. But I'm sure that ATS is not scam.

Overall humanity has made incredible strides over the last century. Obviously there's more work to be done and it depends on specific location, but we're definitely trending in the right direction, and I think in many places we'll see it in our lifetime. Gender equality in educational and work opportunities will make the world far more efficient.
This is a fair enough argument but some goods and services you can only pay for via fiat. In fact most goods/services can only be paid for by fiat or credit. Inflation is going to be a thing at all if you are just selling the amount of BTC you need to make a purchase in fiat. I am guessing you mean exchanging for large amounts of fiat that you wouldn't be using in a few days time.
Exactly. You can't yet buy everything you need, or even most things, with BTC. So it's simply unrealistic.
Beyond that, you should follow a simple principle: if BTC is selling for more than you think it will be worth in the near future, sell high, and wait for the price to drop.
That about sums it up pretty well. Lots of scams out there, of varying degrees. And plenty of ICOs that are not scams, but are just not very likely to ever succeed.
But I think if you look at site and whitepaper, you'll be able to spot the scams pretty quickly, and if you interact with the people running an ICO you should get a good idea of who is qualified to actually see their projects through to success.
this is like betting on stock and shares, but the difference is that there is no regulations and everyone can set up a ICO, not like the companies that have to qualify for a stock market listing.

Your website countdown timer says it's counting down to the first round. But other places on the site you indicate it's the end of the second round. Which is it?
