How does ledger nano send a transaction?
by

Hi I would like to know how the ledger nano works exactly? What is the route of a transaction, how does it reach a given blockchain.

For example if I send a bitcoin transaction with a ledger nano, I don't have the block chain or a full node on my ledger nano or computer and I can see the ledger nano uses different ports to send the signal to a cloudfare ip address. So it doesn't seem to be broadcasting the transaction directly to the blockchain but pass through some kind of protected server...

Does anyone know how it works or how this kind of wallet work in general to broadcast the transaction, I guess ligth wallets kind of work thaty way too.

if they use servers, how many are they? 2-3 or hundreds of them?

Today I read on discord that candidate "wbpxre150" [aka Blackjoker] was banned from taking up his NN in season 4 for something he did a long time ago.

I cast 1000000 VOTE2020 towards wbpxre150 which are void now, and obviously do not count towards the election result for season 4.

This is very unfair to me as a community member and active participant in the season 4 NN election.

If wbpxre150 was not eligible to take up a winning position, why was he allowed to run in the election at all?

Why was wbpxre150's NN proposal not banned BEFORE the election started?

I would like to have my 1M VOTE2020 returned to my original address so I can participate in the season 4 election.

I did not do anything wrong, I know nothing about what wbpxre150 did until today, I have been greatly disadvantaged, my 1M VOTE2020 would have significantly changed the election result.

Whoever is responsible for the NN election process, please return my 1M VOTE2020 asap, and I will vote immediately.

What has happened is clearly unfair to ME

I will wait 5 days, if the Komodo NN election officials don't respond in that time I will announce how I would have allocated my remaining 1M VOTE2020 here.

I think some NN candidates who narrowly missed out on getting elected in season 4 will be interested to see whether they should have been elected, had I known not to waste 1M VOTE2020 on a candidate who should have been disqualified from running in the first place.

It is understable why a voter would be upset in such case. But on the other hand and like someone pointed out on Komodo discord:
"It would also be very unfair for everyone else who voted if the voter in question was allowed to re-cast his votes.
Knowing the results that would be created by his/her vote allocation would allow for choosing results. Other voters could then also make the claim that they would have also voted diferently after seeing the 1,000,000 votes alocated differently.
This situations is very unfortunate."

And I would add that voters should be aware of the risks involved when voting for totally anonymous candidates and in that case a candidate who came at the last minute pretending without any kind of evidence to be someone who disapeared since almost 4 months leaving his node down. This server is still down as of today even though wrrpt500something pretended to be back on track as blackjok3r... That candidate, also put the wrong address for his last minute proposal at the beginning. All details that should have raise concerns in the voter's mind.

Then I don't know when the details of the disqualifying action were discovered but I guess if they knew before the election they would have disqualified his proposal but only the team could explain how it happened.

BTW Pirate Chain (ARRR) is still only listed on a single exchange: DigitalPrice.io (under ticker: ARRR), on 3 pairs: BTC, ETH and KMD: https://digitalprice.io/order?url=arrr-kmd

You may see other coins called "Pirate" like Pirate Skull or PirateCash listed under other tickers on echanges or coin tracker but they have nothing to do with Pirate Chain (ARRR), so please be aware.

You claim here to be private but on your website, there is no mention about privacy and just looking at your block explorer we can see it's just the same as Bitcoin with balance and everything being completely public... So it just look like a bunch of BS finally! Roll Eyes

Mine was working fine at 662 for 36 hours, then one of the board went to zero... I have to lower to 650. So maybe then run fine only at 500M finally...

I also strongly disagree with such marketing practices. They made sure the first batch would be perfect so all the reviewers would make free publicity for them about a 750M stable Z9mini then the orders should have flow in from people expecting the Z9 mini to all be like the ones they saw in the reviews. Also the first batch came in with new promises of transparency from Bitmain with the published log of each unit shipping but for batch 2 it'S radio silence again.

I just received my first second batch Z9 mini too. I had 2 from the first batch both running at 750M (16.2 and 16.5 KH/s)without any problem since day 1 with fan to auto.

But my last one from batch 2 has the same exact problem as many here. I'm kind of happy to have found this thread and to realize I'm not the only one. I also thought that 681 was the max OC but after a few hours I lost a board going to zero. I am trying at the default 500M to see if the problem occurs too.

So Bitmain made sure they put the very best board in batch ones so they get some nice reviews all accross the net to sell more with batch 2 where they dumped all their faulty boards... And they will say... well only 10Khas/s is garanteed folks!

I hope I'm hallucinating and someone will just find a quick fix!

Yes if you take 3 z9 mini and overclock them you can easily reach 40k. So is it 3 z9 mini glued together for the price of 4 or really 4 z9 mini?

Re: Antminer Z9 mini worth it ?

Think twice before ordering Angry:

I ordered 2 Antminers Z9 mini early from the first batch. I was charged 600$ cad in custom taxes but I have NOT received them yet because they were stuck in custom for 10 days even though I paid the taxes in full on first day and now DHL is telling me everyday I should receive them and I never receive them. Embarrassed

Now they were release from custom 4 days ago but I'm lucky cause when I called the custom they told me it could be stuck for up to 2 months.

I think it's because of the Trump tariffs fiasco. Now custom agents are very busy learning all the new rules for thousands of products that will get taxed. Or maybe because it's summer and some agents are also on vacation.

So far I lost 1000$ dollars because I could mine (normally I would have received it 12 days ago) and I still have no idea when I will really receive them and I paid 600$ that I was not expecting.

So I am sitting on a 1600$ unexpected fees for those f***ing miners and loosing 45$ everyday I am not receiving them! And the diff is growing fast too. Cry Cry Cry

To this you have to add the loss you incured for not investing that money instead (and now the market is going up so you can loose a lot if you don't invest instead).

Re: CoinTracking - Profit/Loss Portfolio and Tax Reporting for Digital Currencies
by

Hi,

I just bought a 2 years Pro upgrade for Cointracking.

Look like the best out there to track all those trades with all the coins and exchanges but still need some improvements in the import process it seems.

I just spent 2 days trying to figure out why my balance are not like they should. One thing I suspect is that when importing from the exchange, Cointracking sometimes include the fee in the cost amount (like for Coinbase) and sometimes not (like for Bitstamp).

I could balance Coinbase but now I am trying to balance Bitstamp. On bitstamp my XRP are ok, but my BTC are not (fees for XRP are in USD but fees for BTC are in BTC). I have a 0.05 balance on Bitstamp but Cointracking show me a 0.03958308 BTC balance. So some are missing. I am suspecting problems with the Fees. I just imported the .csv from bitstamp (Export ALL).

Also I saw this on the cointracking doc: https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/29000018276-missing-fees-in-the-tax-report
"Missing Fees in the Tax-Report Modified on: Thu, 11 Jan, 2018 at 3:12 PM At the moment, the fee values are not deducted from your gains in the Tax-Report. You can easily find them on the "Trading Fees" page and subtract them yourself from your total gains."

I don't understand that one, since the Fees are supposed to always be included in the cost of each trade (see: "Please note that the purchase and sale values displayed on CoinTracking already include all fees. (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/29000007202-entering-fees)")
So if the fees are included in the purchase price, the gain or lost would automatically take account of those right? If we do like they say and substract all the fee from the total gain result of the tax report we would be substracting them twice no???
