Well that's lame. Bitcoin could be huge for the remittance market but I think at the moment is not enough people are aware of it or are going to use it so it may be too early for bitcoin to become popular which may scare businesses off from using it.
Pretty much all of these bitcoin news sites copy articles from everyone else, though most of the time its people copying from cointelegraph. I think any so called 'journalist' should be fired for plagiarism though. One warning was more than enough and if it was a more serious site they would have fired them immediately though maybe he was just niave but like you said it can seriously damage the sites rep.

I doubt it, they probably just haven't had any contact from them yet. It seems once they got a letter or email from one specific country they blocked access to that particular nation. Depending on where PD is hosted there's probably not much anyone could do anyway.
The escrow system on OB is definitely going to be the weak link. I think with any transaction involving bitcoin someone is going to have to trust someone else somewhere but that's where the opportunity is for something bad to happen. Escrow is also going to be really difficult for them to judge certain things as well (buyer says he received the item but it was a box of bricks and not a macbook etc - what do they do then?).
Ross Ullbricht did not get a fair trial. Evidence was withheld to protect the agents, who also stole Bitcoins.

I doubt they were fabricated but it may have been entrapment. If you're going to say evidence was fabricated then you might as well say the entire evidence they had against him was fabricated too.
Also: If there was entrapment, that is illegal in the USA, as far as I know. He is not convicted for the murder charge, there isn't even a prosecution for that and there will not be one.
Well all the ones who are saying this are obviously pro Ross and are going to say evidence was fabricated. When you get caught at your laptop logged in as DPR this argument loses a lot of credibility. I'm sure the trail wasn't fair but they didn't really need to fabricate anything when everyone can see what was going on.

If not, why are they blocking UK IPs?
I don't understand why everyone seems to be taking orders from the UK Gambling Commission all of a sudden without any explanation to end users.
Any more details on this would be appreciated.
If they're providing a service to the UK then I think they still have to comply with their laws, otherwise anyone could just set up a casion based on some island somewhere but continue to operate their site in the UK market.

I am not an user of LiquorList but from what I could see it is a service that allows you to buy liquor from members of that site.
So all LiquorList did was enable to people who use bitcoin to accept payment in BTC. Well, it is a progress definitely, but not that impressive as I thought initially.

What more do you want or could ask for? Site looks a little budget but any business or site accepting bitcoin is a big plus.
That's quite nice. Services usually put a small Bitcoin logo somewhere or a small "Bitcoin accepted here".
Bigger images are needed, on the internet and in the streets. The last time when I was trying to find something it took me 15 minutes more than it should because the Bitcoin logo wasn't either present or was very small so I must have missed it.

Normally you can't even see them or you don't notice it till the checkout page.

Can't say I agree with Starbucks' business practices but more companies to spend your bitcoins at is a plus, though you can get a better than 20% discount by buying Starbucks giftcards on the Marketplace here

The best decision for any retailer would be to have as many possible ways of accepting payment as possible.
Yup. If he decides on passing any savings on transaction costs to bitcoin users, Bitcoin will be the most popular payment option.
Why would he need to do that? Bitcoin is already very cheap to send and it's the miners that need to be adequately rewarded to keep on mining.

Agreed. I don't think people should be able to self-mod threads especially not in this sub but that's why I try not to post in them. If people don't like others opinions or aren't willing to have an open discussion then I don't know why they're even here or bother trying to have a dialogue.

Im interested in seeing what future services they plan to offer. They do need to do more then a simple buy and selling of bitcoin to compete with coinbase and gemini.
Why do they have to compete with them? Bloclchain.info doesn't and it does ok. I think being a wallet or an exchange is vastly different from a payment processor though maybe you can combine all three if it hasn't been done already.
the rules are that you print money, steal btc and buy gold. but they steal money and gold too. so theft is really the common denominator here that shows their specialty, i suppose.
Exactly. I don't think they'll care about buying btc because why bother when they can just print their own, but they'll confiscate it when they can and sell it for dirty cash. It's always funny to me how 'criminals' can't profit from crime but the police certainly can. It's a corrupt system.

XXX and Titcoin are pointless. This just goes to show it because why would the industry use those coins when they can just use bitcoin instead.
Yes it should be taught in schools especially in Economics classes. I think it will be shortly but bitcoin is still pretty new but I'm sure they will briefly discuss it. Maybe in the future they will study it either as an economic success or maybe even a failure if it all goes tits up.

2 Billions of people came out of extreme poverty in 50 years. We need to keep improving our production mechanisms, produce more, innovate and work hard. It is how you will help the weakest the most.
I think Apathy is one of the greatest human diseases. Sadly we care too much about our own children but nobody elses. I think there's always going to be some level of poverty but extreme poverty is never acceptable anywhere and can be avoided. I think more wealthy people and countries should be doing more to helping those less fortunate people countries but not under the guise of 'false charity'.
