Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.0 (Windows/Linux)
Just replace the Claymore miner with a new copy of it. It was a Windows Defender attack that disabled the Claymore miner. If you are not going to dual mine, use the 10.6 version of the miner since it does not seem to be recognized as a virus when you download it.
I had this or something similar but the system did find one (trojan) but cant find the log to see which one it was. on Sunday around 6pm est. I restarted computer and the command prompt box flashes once when I start the miner.bat file (that's what I names it) and wont restart.
(My miners been running months without an issue, just to note)
Today I am going to trouble shot what I find out here. I removed/reinstalled driver (block-chain-AMD), removed the claymore software, ran two virus checkers, reinstalled claymore from clean flash drive & I had win defender off while I installed fresh programs.
One thing I did notice in the event viewer was a lot of logins & disconnect type 3,7, maybe a hack attempt ? not sure what to look for but that's what it looks like.
My other miner is still online.

Please share any experiences you have with this to give me some ideas. Great idea, thanks for the input, I will try that today.
I had the same error on one rig. Turned out it has burned my SATA cable in PSU connector. This SATA was powering two risers, thats why 2 GPUs were affected.
After I replaced SATA cable it started working again, but it got burned again after a week, so I replaced the whole PSU - now its OK for 2 months.

My rig (6 cards) immediately crashes when I start mining ETH. When I take one random card out it mines stable on 5 cards. It works perfectly on all other coins with 6 cards. I've read in old topics that it could be the PSU but I have a new Corsair 1200W for 6 RX580's so that should be enough. Any way I could test it?
use the command -lidag 2 and see if that fixes it. There is an inrush of power at the DAG generation phase, and your power supply may be too sensitive to it. By slowing the DAG generation just a bit your power supply may be able to keep up. I had this same issue on a couple rigs and this fixed it.

Just built 2 rigs (both with very same hardware).
When I run dual on rig1 it works fine, on rig2 insta crash and the computer reboots (this issue only when dual mining, when mining just ETH works OK).
Any idea?

If it is crashing when the program goes into the DAG creation, use -lidag 2 to slow that process down so it doesn't hang and trip, I have had this issue on some rigs and this fixed it.

Just upgraded to version 10.5.. anyone notice ETH hashrate drops with GTX 1060 cards? I was a fool and decided to upgrade three things at once and now i'm trying to figure out what caused the drop down to 15 mh/s.

what i have noticed is that before you update your video driver, you need to use some cleaner to wipe everything. for my amd it was happening. as soon as i did a clean install, without anything the hashrates were back up.
i am not sure if that works for nvidia.
I did a clean install and no change. I think its Win10 17074 but just wanting others to confirm there are no issues with 10.5 or the latest NVIDIA drivers.
i just updated from 10.2 to 10.5, no change in hasterate on my rig.
lets see if someone has issue on that win10 update.
Just do a roll back on the Windows update or strip off and reinstall your drivers and it should be fine. The forced Windows updates are highly disruptive to the miners. V 10.5 has not affected my machines at all. But the forced Windows updates (had disabled selected on all machines and it still forced itself on all of them) have tanked each of my machines' drivers and its as simple as running DDU and reinstalling.

Mining just ethereum work great, really stable for days at fast rate.
Dual with lbry make the rig crash/reboot every 2-5 minutes or so... max I got was 17 minutes
I also re-flash with original bios, without OC and it's still rebooting...
my rig:
-win 10
-Biostar Motherboard TB250-BTC Core
-4x sapphire nitro+ rx 570 8gb samsung
-2x sapphire nitro+ rx 570 8gb hynix
-4gb ram
-120G ssd
-virtual memory 20-60gb (I know it's excessive)
one thing I found interresting is when claymore dual is used by nicehash, the computer doesn't reboot.
I also tried the -ethi 2 option without change.
tried 10.0 10.3 and 10.4
I tried for many hours, but I'll mine just ethereum untill it's stable for me.
I can try things if you want. Will sure try the next version. But want to informe you in case it help.

Did you ever solve this? I have 4 rigs running similar Sapphire 570 8g cards, (2X6) with Hynix, (1X6) with Micron, and (1X6) with Samsung, only the Samsung cards run stable and the other three are incredibly unstable. I have purchased some new riser cards just to make sure I didn't get a bad batch. I have tried every setting and bios change under the sun and can't get them stable. They just hang in open cl and reset. Never seen this in any of my other rigs, just on the Sapphire 570 8g cards. I am beginning to believe it is just a lousy batch of cards. I'll let you know if the risers make any difference.
Hi, are you talking about dual-mining? or is it unstable with ethereum only too? My 2 rigs (1-6xsamsung and 1-2hynix+4samsung) are really stable with ethereum only. I have put the "-asm 2" option, and I think it help. (It sure increase a bit the hashrate). What is your OC, I'm unable to oc a lot on these, but I'm satisfied with approx:29.6 mh. in dual mining, it's more stable for me with less OC, so I accept at the moment a drop of around 1mh in ethereum to dual-mine... Let me know if you need more info on my setup, if my hashrate is interresting for you. Happy mining!
Thanks for the feedback. I quit dual mining this week since the overall value in the alt coin does not exceed the increase in eth production and the power reduction I get when I just mine eth. I have gone from generating 300 LBC a day to 70 LBC a day in just 2 weeks, so the dual mining part of this is no longer more profitable than just mining eth as long as the price is over $1000/coin. I have tried the asm 2 setting and I believe is has helped stabilize my Sapphire 570 8g rigs, so thank you for that idea. Not sure I am going to figure out why the 570 8g cards are so unstable compared to my other rigs, but I have at least found a way to run them and be profitable.

Dual with lbry make the rig crash/reboot every 2-5 minutes or so... max I got was 17 minutes
I also re-flash with original bios, without OC and it's still rebooting...

-Biostar Motherboard TB250-BTC Core
-4x sapphire nitro+ rx 570 8gb samsung
-2x sapphire nitro+ rx 570 8gb hynix
-4gb ram
-120G ssd
-virtual memory 20-60gb (I know it's excessive)
one thing I found interresting is when claymore dual is used by nicehash, the computer doesn't reboot.
I also tried the -ethi 2 option without change.

I tried for many hours, but I'll mine just ethereum untill it's stable for me.

Did you ever solve this? I have 4 rigs running similar Sapphire 570 8g cards, (2X6) with Hynix, (1X6) with Micron, and (1X6) with Samsung, only the Samsung cards run stable and the other three are incredibly unstable. I have purchased some new riser cards just to make sure I didn't get a bad batch. I have tried every setting and bios change under the sun and can't get them stable. They just hang in open cl and reset. Never seen this in any of my other rigs, just on the Sapphire 570 8g cards. I am beginning to believe it is just a lousy batch of cards. I'll let you know if the risers make any difference.

Has anyone noticed the payout on Dwarfpool have dropped dramatically over the past week? Seems like the drop in productivity is higher than the rate of difficulty increase. I recently switched from the European server to the US server and I am trying to figure out if that had anything to do with it. Thoughts?

I recently put a machine on ETC and updated the drivers to the blockchain drivers, so the machine mines faster now, but is more unstable, even when I shut off dual mining. Can anyone share with me their run parameters for a Sapphire rx nitro (non-plus) 480 8g card? I am running windows 10 with v 10.2 with the August 23rd blockchain drivers. Would love a suggestion on how to get this to run stable and not have cards tripping out. I have tried raising and lowering voltages, lowering ethi to 1, and turning off dual mode, but not really found a stable set up. Appreciate any thoughts.

Hi, my rig keeps rebooting every 2 minutes if I use dual mining ETH and SH. When only mining ETH, no rebooting occurs.

Check your risers they be burned.
Can also be PSU not being able to handle dual mining. Dual mining uses a lot more power and is very hard on your graphics cards. I stopped dual mining over a year ago so that my graphics cards lasted longer and I really did not see the extra power used to be much benefit in the long run dual mining. Just mine ETH and be nice to your rig.
Set -ethi to 1 and your -powlim to -10 and see if it runs, and then raise the -ethi until unstable. It will prove if you are pulling too much power for the PSU. Not knowing your system configuration makes it tough to know if your psu is undersized. You should also make sure you are not undervolting your core clocks too much with a third party power manager since undervolting the core clocks will cause the system to crash and reboot, where as undervolting the memory clocks will only result in individual cards tripping out.
One other thought, make sure you don't have a bad card

Hi! I bought a power meter recently, I have a 6x Sapphire RX 480 Nitro Plus OC 8GB rig, while dual mining (ETH+DCR) Im pulling 1070W from the wall. I undervolt the GPUs with MSI AB 4.4.0 final version to -110mV and -75mV for GPU0. Someone could post his power consumption for a similar rig? I think AB doesnt apply changes to voltage. I will share my experiences with you. I am running 24 rigs with the same cards dual mining DCR and LBRY. I use Claymore to set my control parameters and all my machines run 970W - 1030W and I am getting 170-175 Mh/s on each rig. I run with cclock of 1160, mclock 2020 (doesn't seem to affect hashrate much but if set too high will result in cards going into open CL), cvddc of 870 and mvddc of 890. If you want to get your power down, lower your mclock by 50 and then 100 and see if it affects your hash rate. It most likely will not have a huge drop in performance, but you may see a reduction in power consumption. Lowering the mvddc has a big impact on power reduction efforts as well, and you can play with that to understand power consumption over performance. Also, running a powlim of -10 will get your power down as well with minimal reduction in performance. I am using the uber straps mod'd bios and August 23rd block chain drivers. I have to run ethi at 5 or below or the machines become unstable, and each machine has to be tweaked slightly to get it stable since no two machine act exactly the same. Most of these machines run for weeks without issue and only get reset when I update the miner or change what coin I am mining. I run DCR at 28 on the nitro+ 480s which seems to be the point that I get the max of both before it starts to slow down the ETH mining. Hope that helps.

Have you tried a different pool? On nanopool I only get 25 with my nitro plus. On nicehash I'm getting 28

running sapphire rx nitro+ 570 8g with Hynix memory with block chain drivers, 1750 strap mod (or uber mod) but nothing gets me over 25 Mh/s and is still stable. I have 470 8g and 480 8g cards running at 28+ all day long, but these 570 8g cards with Hynix are appearing to be crap cards. Anyone had better luck and what have you done to get them tuned up higher. Any core overclocking over 2000 makes the cards freeze. Would love to hear from those that have been successful in finding a way to make these cards run at 28+.

I have 5x RX480 (Saphhire Nitro +) with Blockchain drivers and custom BIOS. I'm limited to 1000W power. I'm currently mining ETH + LBRY but I have some wierd errors. GPU stops every few minutes and then starts again... I tryed lowering dcri but no help.

I could use a little help with those that are experienced with the Biostar TB250 pro. I bought a couple to try them out and they are appearing to be real pieces of shit. I can't get either board to recognize more than 4 cards. As soon as I install the 5th card, the drivers go bonkers and then only one of the cards posts. I am trying to install 6 Sapphire rx nitro+ 570 8g cards. I have enabled mining in the bios and set everything on Gen 2, but this f'ing board will not recognize more than 4 cards. I have changed all the cards, all the risers three times, tested 2 power supplies, and can't seem to get anywhere. I have installed the August 23rd block chain drivers, as well as a host of older drivers in Windows 10 to no avail. Anyone else suffered through this kind of fun and was victorious? Please share.
