Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod]

The English batsmen are punishing WI bolwers. After 43 overs England score is 307 runs and they will surely give target of over 350 runs. It's a collective team effort, all English batsmen have scored runs against all WI bolwers. Jayden Seales is most successful WI bolwers who picked 3 wikcets but he has given away 62 runs in his 7 overs. The game has gone out of WI control and it looks difficult that WI will win today's ODI.

hahaha , your guess is not right. After 43 overs, England had scored 307 runs. But after 50 overs, England scored a huge 400 runs. In the last 7 overs, England had scored 93 runs. If they had batted well in the last two overs, England could have given a target of around 420. In the last two overs, England had scored only 9 runs.

England is a strong team and we knew that England would win this series. But I did not expect to see such aggressive batting from England batsmen. Almost every batsman in the squad batted well. However, Jacob Bethell's 82 runs off 53 balls and Will Jacks' 39 runs off 24 balls helped England to give a big target.

Jayden Seales took 4 wickets but gave away 84 runs in 9 overs. None of the West Indies bowlers had a good performance. Now we are not seeing a good performance from the West Indies batsmen either. West Indies have scored 8 runs in 3 overs and have already lost one wicket.

The proven strategy by most people that are wealthy today. Even the current top wealthies people, majority of their riches came from their investments.

I disagree with your statement because the top rich people today like Elon, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg or Bernard Arnault...their wealth comes from founding and running businesses. They were already rich before investing in other assets like stocks, real estate or gold. Only Warren Buffett is considered one of the rich people through investing because most of his wealth was acquired through investing, he invested in stocks of various corporations from the early days of his career.

Financial investing is one way to get rich but not the best or only way.

Re: Bitcoin as 5th largest asset in the world

on 29/05/2025, 15:27:06 UTC

Bitcoin may rise to number 2 but saying that it will surpass gold and become the world's number 1 asset is unlikely to happen in the near future. The gap between Bitcoin and the top corporations is just $1 trillion. But gold has a market capitalization 10 times that of bitcoin and is likely to continue to rise sharply in the coming years as geopolitical uncertainty increases. It will be a long and challenging road for bitcoin to catch up to gold, let alone surpass it.

The world is moving to bitcoin but central banks are still on the sidelines and this is a big barrier. Bitcoin only has a chance of surpassing gold if it is chosen and held by central banks and governments.
Some countries being against bitcoin certainly doesn’t help speed up the process. I am not expecting bitcoin to cruise through the top assets and surpass gold in no time but there is a possibility that we can’t deny. We have seen what bitcoin can do in a few years time what else can it do in more? Even if bitcoin doesn’t surpass gold, we can always say that bitcoin has become a successful asset.

To be fair, bitcoin won't easily surpass gold because gold is an asset that has been used for thousands of years, through many wars, great recessions, economic crises, pandemics...It showed the world its potential and the world had complete faith in it without any doubt. Meanwhile, let's see how the world is treating bitcoin? Many people don't even know or care about it, and policies related to it are still controversial among politicians or central banks...How can it surpass gold in the near future with those?
Just because we are bitcoin investors we are biased towards it, but if we dare to face the reality, bitcoin cannot even surpass gold in this century.

But you're right, whether it beats gold or not, it's still a successful asset.

Ten Hag was a complete failure with Manchester United. Will we see a repeat of the same thing? I wouldn't be surprised if we see Leverkusen's performance decline next season.
I won't be surprised if Bayer Leverkusen still maintain the same level of performance or even improve. Erik Ten Hag was brought to Manchester United because of his successful record; that record can again have a repeat in Bayer Leverkusen.

If there were anything that would affect the team, it would be that some of the key players are leaving, and that will definitely affect the balance of the team finding a replacement.
I dont know if he will do good at Leverkusen. But their playing style is similar when he was back in Ajax so i dont know honestly. But i think Leverkusen could have gotten a better coach for them. After seeing how Ten Hag effects badly his players,i dont think he can do good at Leverkusen. But still he was a really good coach back in Ajax so anything is possible

Ten Hag was quite successful with Ajax. Ten Hag won 3 Eredivisie titles. And that is why Manchester United gave ten Hag the responsibility of their coach. But he was a complete failure with Manchester United.

Although it is also true that it is difficult to manage a lot of star players. It is very difficult for any coach to manage the Manchester United squad. However, Leverkusen's squad is less star players. However, since the team will compete for the Bundesliga title, if ten Hag's match strategy is not good, the team will not be able to compete for the Bundesliga title. I am waiting to see if Ten Hag can succeed with Leverkusen.

I saw this meme on social media :p .It seems a bit realistic to me. I don't know why Leverkusen is doing this. Maybe Leverkusen doesn't have any good options. Since the club is not very rich. That's why Leverkusen management is interested in signing Ten Hag.

Xabi Alonso was a great coach. Leverkusen dominated the Bundesliga with a mediocre squad because of Alonso's mastermind. The team broke Bayern Munich's dominance. But now that Alonso has signed with Madrid, Leverkusen definitely had to find a talented coach. But we didn't think it would be Ten Hag.

Ten Hag was a complete failure with Manchester United. Will we see a repeat of the same thing? I wouldn't be surprised if we see Leverkusen's performance decline next season.

With RCB's performance yesterday, I am now expecting PBKS vs RCB in final. PBKS has already a good squad, and for RCB — Hazlewood and Tim David will be joining in qualifiers, so more strength (hopefully, they manage to fit in Thusara too).

GT just don't have marbles except their top order and Buttler would be on gone top of that, so I don't expect them to pass MI in first place in eliminator but if they do somehow, I am expecting them to lose in Q2.

Which team is weak in IPL? Every team is very strong. But even then, are all the teams able to play well? Chennai, Rajasthan and Hyderabad are also very strong. Hyderabad is still the highest scorer in this IPL. But the problem is that the teams have failed to continue their good performance.

Punjab vs Bengaluru is likely to be the final. Both the teams are very strong. And are in the best form at the moment. But did you see that a few days ago, Punjab lost to Delhi despite giving a target of 207 runs? We also saw Bengaluru team losing to Hyderabad.

Gujarat and Mumbai teams are also strong. Why do I feel that we will see Mumbai in this final. Although we saw Mumbai's defeat by a big margin against Punjab in the last match. Even then, most of the matches in the knockout round of IPL are unpredictable.

In addition, if for example the English league format is changed to 18 teams, I think it will have a pretty good impact. Because as you said, the competition will be even tighter. And big teams can also be relegated if the format is like that. Because the proof is that currently Tottenham and Manchester United are in 17th and 15th positions. So hopefully this format can really be applied in the English league.

The Premier League is very competitive. Is there any need to change the format of the Premier League? I personally think there is no need.

But you are right that if the format is changed, then there is a possibility of big teams falling into the relegation zone. This season we have seen giant teams like Tottenham and Manchester United perform badly. United were in 15th place in the points table and Tottenham were in 17th place.

This season the teams fought hard to qualify for the Champions League. Next season teams like United, Tottenham and West Ham will have to strengthen their squads. These three teams have performed very badly this season.

Those who bought stocks a few decades ago or those who bought Bitcoin or some altcoins years ago, they would become wealthy by investment but today is not the time to become wealthy by investment. Today things are much different. To my mind, in order to become wealthy today, you have to be able to gain attention. For example, look at Instagram influencers, especially in fitness and beauty, they earn tons of money. They easily become famous, then companies pay them thousands of dollars just to post something about a partner company, then they also find investors and create their own GYM or supplement brand or drink brand and with their followers, they are able to massively promote and sell the product through their own Instagram and TikTok channels. That's how money is made today.

I agree with you that things have become different as there are more ways to make money and get rich these days than just focusing on business and investing like  before. But it would be wrong to say that investing can no longer bring us wealth. The world is constantly developing, many professions and fields are born, in which technology is the top priority field . That means there will be more startups, projects, ideas similar to Apple, Tesla being created...or the crypto market is gradually maturing and will create more breakthroughs .  From there, it will certainly create a lot of potential investment opportunities.

Investing is still an option ,  a good way to get rich these days.

Juventus managed to take the lead again in the 73rd minute of the match. Locatelli scored the goal from the penalty spot. 85 minutes of the match are over, Juventus should now try to play defensively and finish the match at 3-2. If Juventus draws this match, it will be extremely sad for Juve fans.

Juventus won in the end. Juventus qualified for the Champions League and Venezia fell into the relegation zone. I would say Juventus is very lucky. The team has been performing poorly for the past few seasons but still managed to qualify for the Champions League.

Since the team has qualified for the Champions League, Juventus management should now strengthen their squad. Especially strengthening their attack is very important. Juventus has only scored 58 goals this season. The weakness of the attack has been very visible this season.

If Juventus wants to do well on the Champions League platform, Juventus needs an experienced striker. Otherwise, we will see Juventus' poor performance again in both the Champions League and Serie A next season.

Whether Juventus will qualify for the Champions League after losing points against Lazio and Bologna in the previous matches will depend on today's match. Juventus will have to win against Venezia if they want to play in the Champions League.

However, the match is 2-2 in the 70th minute. Juventus conceded a goal in just 2 minutes. However, Juve was leading 2-1 at the end of the first half. But Venezia equalized the match at the beginning of the second. Venezia will try to win the match. Because if they win this match, the team will be able to get out of the relegation zone. On the other hand, Juventus will have to win this match to qualify for the Champions League.

Roma is definitely going to win today's match against Torino. Roma is leading 2-0 at the moment. Now we are waiting to see if Juventus is able to secure the victory

On another match between SRH and KK, both of which are already eliminated. SRH made a huge score of 278 which is the 2nd highest total for this IPL, the first one being 286 which was also made by SRH and they also have the record for 4 highest team total in IPL. The two being these two and rest two from last year. Yet, last year's 287 still remains the largest team total record in IPL.

Today we saw great performances from the two teams at the bottom of the points table. In the first match of the day, the last-placed Chennai team won against the top-placed Gujarat. Chennai won by a huge margin of 83 runs.

Batting first, Chennai gave a huge target of 231 runs. But Gujarat's innings stopped for just 147 runs. Khaleel, ANush, Jadeja and Noor all bowled well.

Hyderabad's performance also impressed us today. Hyderabad had a big score in the first match of IPL. Today too, the team scored a huge score of 278 runs. Heinrich Klaasen remained unbeaten on 105 runs from just 39 balls. After giving such a big target, there is no possibility of Hyderabad losing.

I think I will disagree because Nothingham Forest are not unbeatable neither is it impossible for Chelsea to win against Notthing Forest. Chelsea are playing better than they used to in mid-season and so stand a chance of getting a win today. Today’s game is about winning and if they fail to win and Forest happens to win then they will forfeit Champions League football next season so it’s going to be a tough game.

Compared to their performance at the beginning of the season, Chelsea are in a good position at the moment. The team is quite strong. And they are able to play well consistently. Chelsea have beaten Liverpool and United in the last few weeks. The victory against Liverpool was not easy. Even then, Chelsea won.

It is impossible to predict Nottingham Forest's performance. This team is not strong in terms of squad. But their overall performance is good. However, in the last few matches we have not seen a better performance than Nottingham Forest. However, Nottingham Forest also has the ability to win against Chelsea. So the match will definitely be competitive. Both teams need to win this match to qualify for the Champions League.

Re: What's your view on CEX/DEX Exchange in the long run?
by
Swordsoffreedom
on 25/05/2025, 09:41:58 UTC
The crypto community is getting bigger on daily basis, new institutions, big investors and country leaders/government are taking into use Bitcoin and some other crypto currencies. Because the system is not centralized, there are still some people who are skeptical in investing.

Crypto Exchanges being the market place for buying and selling, do you think the Decentralized Exchange and Centralized Exchanges will be on an equal treatment or one with power will suppress the other as per government involvement in one and not in the other on the long run?

What are your thoughts on this?
That's a great question. The idea behind decentralized exchanges doesn't seem bad, but for now, it's not even a competition, as centralized exchanges are obviously dominant. I was trying to find some data, and at least based on what Coingecko is tracking, 24-hour volume of decentralized exchanges is a mere 12 billion USD out of 86 billion USD globally. So it's just a share of around 15%. And so far, I don't see why that would change in the future.

Even if there is a change, it will be a more negative change, meaning that DEX activity will continue to shrink instead of possibly becoming larger to compete with CEXs. Once the government gets involved, it means there will be less room for decentralization, privacy...That is the price we pay for wanting the government to legitimize and promote the growth of the crypto industry and send prices to the moon.

They are slowly removing privacy, anonymity from the industry by shutting down a bunch of mixers and now many governments are slowly banning privacy coins...They may not go extinct completely, but there will be very few people using them anymore.

Re: Bitcoin as the leading currency
by
Swordsoffreedom
on 25/05/2025, 08:05:22 UTC
Despite many optimistic investors, I do not think bitcoin will be reaching $1 million any time soon though I do have confidence that it will at some point. Just probably not tomorrow. Still, I like to think about what could happen if this does happen. What would the world look like with bitcoin as its leading currency?
Who would have thought $100K could be touched within 16 years since its launch, everyone clearly at that time did not have the belief that they would see $100K. Well, the same thing now $1 Million seems impossible and far to achieve but then again no one could have thought maybe we can't see it but our descendants will definitely experience it and at that time Bitcoin was definitely the leading currency used in the world.

I don't see anyone saying bitcoin will never reach $1 million, what I see is that the community currently has two different lines of thought. Some people think bitcoin will hit $1 million within the next 1 or 2 cycles , while others think it won't happen anytime soon and could take decades or won't happen in our generation. That's what people are arguing  about .

But bitcoin hitting $1 million won't make it the most used currency in the world . For bitcoin to do that , it just needs to be legalized and  backed by governments . But  I doubt any government would fully support that, a currency they don't control .

Re: Saving is not enough
by
Swordsoffreedom
on 25/05/2025, 04:11:27 UTC
Saving only is a bad approach to wealth, money made must be reinvested somehow whether into yourself, a process, or even an asset that brings you more money in form of residual income. Tom Kiyosaki describes money as a moving object, so at every instance your money should be in motion and put into work to fetch you more money, else you're not getting wealthy anytime soon.

It cannot be said that saving is a bad approach, while it is said to be the foundation and beginning of all wealth in this world because whether it is investing, doing business or letting money work for you. The first necessary and sufficient condition you need is to have enough money.

Most of us are not born into wealthy families, we depend on the meager income from work. Where will we get enough money to invest and do business if we don't save? You don't need to save unless you are born in a rich family and your parents have enough money to support you, otherwise you need to start from zero and that is saving.

Most of us save every penny from our monthly income to invest in bitcoin but we deny the role of saving, which is unfair.

No one knows what will happen next, bitcoin price may continue to rise and reach $120k as you expect, but the opposite scenario can also happen, bitcoin may fall and even enter a bear season at any time. As a bitcoin investor, you should always have a backup plan and always be prepared for any possible situation, don't be too subjective and think that everything will always go according to your thoughts. We are the ones who need to follow the market trend, the market does not move according to our expectations. Just because people believe Bitcoin will hit $120k, $150k this year doesn't mean it's definitely going to happen.

But only bitcoin remains your loyal assistant in any difficult moment (In any point of the world. This is a unique phenomenon, which has no analogues). Even after many years. Especially, after many years. Only bitcoin remains a real "loyal" friend. Smiley As ironic as it may sound, but that's exactly how it turns out. All you can rely on is bitcoin. Not a bank account, not a pension, not your wife or children. Just don't forget the seed phrase, because it can be your "lifeline" at the last moment, when there is no help left to come from.
Your wife can disappoint and betray you when you need her the most, your children can choose their new family over you when you might need them the most, your friends might get tired of you and move on if they consider you to be a problem to them, your bank can decide not to give you your money when you want to make use of it as they can come up with any excuse, but as long as you store your bitcoin in a self custody wallet and have access to your private key you don’t have anything to worry about, with internet access you can save yourself from any financial situation which the money you have their can solve.

What you two are saying sounds like bitcoin is the only savior in this world and there is no one more trustworthy. Should we give up everything in life like religion, relatives, banks, friends...and put our trust only in bitcoin? LOL

In this case, it was he who saved himself, not bitcoin. Because if he doesn't hold bitcoins but instead has some money in the bank or any valuable asset, that could save him too.

After all: bitcoin is just a financial instrument and we can only own it if we have money, Bitcoin is not free. Meanwhile, parents, wife, children or friends will be ready to help even when we are in dire straits. We can't assume that everyone in the world is as bad as this guy's relatives , this is just a rare case.
