Cleaned a little bit of nonsense out of this thread.  I hadn't had a chance to check in with this thread... nor did Bitcointalk feel like notifying me of new replies yet again... as I'm currently recovering from a failure of my main desktop machine.  Fortunately I keep frequent and decent backups, and nothing important was lost.  The downtime for my rebuild and recovery put me in a time crunch on non-Eligius projects, however, and I've had to double up my efforts to catch up.

I sincerely appreciate the patience and confidence of the users sticking with Eligius through this admittedly rough transition.  I honestly fully expected everything to be setup and ready to go in a reasonable amount of time, but that just hasn't happened as planned.  I'm nearly caught back up on non-Eligius work and will get back to the getting the new stats side of things working ASAP.

The Eligius back end database and reward system have been functioning normally, and all mining is being counted appropriately.  As always, the public-faced web services are not directly connected with the core database and are not required for mining operations to work.

-wk

Thank you for the update WK. I had my desktop crash a short time ago so I know the pain of rebuilding.... I was able to recover most everything important INCLUDING my Bitcoin core wallet.... thankfully.

I am looking forward to the new stats page when you get it done. I appreciate all the work you put in on keeping this pool running and keeping it the best.

Thanks again!

Got any suggestions of a good pool to move to?

I don't know about anyone else but I for one have never found a pool run as well as Eligius nor one that never has or will rip anyone off or lose their coins. I have tried a few as backups but when I tested them I came back very quickly to Eligius as my primary simply because it is the best or has been.. Id love to see stats... but I know if they are not done it is just that wk is swamped either with a problem with the pool or something in RL which we all have to remember he also has one of.

WizKid and Eligius have always done right by me and I will stick by this pool and owner 110%

WK ,

Sorry to repeat my questions but I did not see an answer to my specific questions. Is there a new url or address I need to point my S9 at to continue to mine on Eligius? If not fine I have never had any issues with you paying out what is due to any miner so I am fine with that end as long as my shares are being tallied and recorded by the new system I trust you to pay them out. ... I know you work hard on the stats and the backend pool itself so I understand the pretty front end and all the prett stats pages take time so I am not so concerned with that just want to know that I am not wasting electricity running this beast if the shares are not counting for something.

T.

You shouldn't have to change anything on your miner with the new system.... all of the old addresses I was using worked fine for me.

Thanks, From the miner end it appears everything is working fine but I like to be able to verify that is all.

Ok, I just want to mine. I was oblivious to the changes having not been watching the blogs not paying a lot of attention to the forum etc... I just set up my miner pointed it to eligius and forgot about it knowing that the shares I earn would be paid to my wallet when my thresholds were met. I just noticed all of this now since I had to rebuild my wallet and came on to figure out if all payouts had shown up.

I just want to know My miner has still been churning away happily turning in shares have those shares gone into the new system then or have they been wasted mining power?

Is there new addresses I need to point my miner to or are they still good where they are? Is there a new site to go to monitor my progress? Please let me know

Considering how much warning was on this forum from myself and others the fact that even after getting ripped off multiple times you still fell for this obvious scam shows you don't have two brain cells to rub together.

In future please send any money you feel like wasting/investing to me, i'll give you back 10% at some point in the future
how could a dumb fuck like me work out something so complicated as operating a wallet ??

i'd ask myself that same question if I was you

Ok now I am done with this forum I have lost $ but I don't have to keep reading while people insult my intelligence. I will cut my losses and run. I have received roughly 35 - 40 % payback for my investment and its worth the other 60% or so to not read others say how stupid I was when the fact is nothing negative was posted when I first invested and since I kept getting paid weekly I had no reason to check in here after that until now.

Just remember .... you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.... or so they say. Insult people and all you do is turn them deaf to your cause or your views. State your case rationally and you will get many more to listen to you. Too late for me but good luck going after Jason I hope he is brought to justice... I however will not be following this thread anymore.

Why are people even keeping this thread alive?

Because there are alot of people that have more than 540.4 gh/s on the line and can do nothing about it

I've got 4500 Gh/s and an investment of 9.25 BTC at risk with only 4 BTC paid out, which I have reinvested 100%
You bet I want to see this and other similar threads continue ... I want my money back !

I'm in a similar position with 2400Gh 4.95041479 Btc invested and 2.21911705 Btc returned in payouts Unfortunately I fell into this scam back in April when the cost per gh was .0043 btc so my investment per Gh is a bit higher and I too was reinvesting everything I earned thinking this was a better option than the power hogs I had in the basement. I sold 270gh/s of my mining hardware 3 or 4 weeks ago now I have only 1.3 Th in S3s and the 2.4 Th on PBmining. I guess its time to find more hardware.... glad they were out of hashing power last Sunday when I normally would have invested another .3btc for another 200gh contract. maybe I can use that to partially fund some new hardware.

This may be a "dumb" question since I have not been watching the board lately ( I did scan the last couple of pages though and found nothing related)

Is there some reason the payout queue has hit 20+ blocks behind now?? I have been mining on Eligius since march and have never seen more than 4 or 5 blocks since I keep my payouts thresholds set for about 3 or 4 day intervals.

I am not saying anything untoward is going on I trust WK fully but I would just like to know why I had a 20 block delay on one miner and 16 or 17 on the other. ( down to 16 and 11 currently).

Thanks

It's honestly because I've not had sufficient time to set aside to go through and get a manual payout together, which takes a good amount of time to go through and do all of the checks I do before sending one.

I'll try to make some time for it soon.

Thanks Wizkid No rush I just had never seen a backup that long before. Thanks for the honest and courteous answer.

Re: On Antminer S3 is there any way to recover if the page wont load?
by
TRN1062
on 01/08/2014, 02:09:12 UTC
I received my 2 Antminer S3's today. One is happily mining away at about 430Gh/s the other I logged into once and attempted to configure it but something happened and the S3 rebooted and now I am no longer able to sign into it. I have changed the working miners IP address so its not conflicting and the miner does show on my router at the 192.168.1.99 address. but the page will not load and I get an error saying the page could not be loaded. Is there some magical reset or something to recover this or am I SOL?
You could try resetting it to 'factory default' using the reset switch on the 'front' panel.  See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702653 in the Troubleshooting section where it says
"How do I reset settings to default?   - Use a paperclip to press the reset button - located next to the ethernet connector - down for
5-10 seconds. The miner will then reset with stock settings."
If that fails, you could try powering it down and after some minutes up again and hopefully it will sort itself  (some patience is required, it is a slooooow controller, adequate for the task).

(just wondering why does the S3 'show on my router at 192.168.1.99', if you left it with a different fixed IP)

Cheers

Thanks for the helpful and extremely accurate reply. I had however finally found the reset button on my own anyway and yes it did fix the problem and now the second S3 is happily hashing away next to the first. Thank you!

As for the question you posted I had changed the IP of the first one I had not managed to get that far on the second I was still working on the pool and worker settings

Re: ROCKMINER R-box slow downs
by
TRN1062

I have 6 R-box miners running on CGminer on a Windows 7 machine.  They seem to run ok but even running them at a clock speed of 290 I am getting only about 200Gh/s from the 6 of them or just about 34Gh/s each They do peak at about 208-210 Gh/s (still under 35Gh/s each)  but only brief peaks. 4 or 5 times a day I have to restart 2 3 or all 6 of the miners as they slow down to high teen to low twenties GH/s

I thought it was power related as I had all 6 running from one 360W PS to start with but I have since bought and hooked up a second 360W PS and put 3 units on each and still the same. I can not get speeds of anywhere near the 35 GH/s each I was expecting with any kind of consistency. I get nearly 35 for brief peaks but it drops off to average a bit under 34 and then drops off to less than 25 after a few hours. I have the 6 units set up spaced out with a 20" box fan blowing across them and they run about 39-40c so I don't think it is heat related either.

My question is, What am I doing wrong or is it just a design flaw that these units can not run for more than a few hours at a time reliably?

Is there an updated firmware or driver I should try? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What version of CGMiner are you running? Since I have been using 4.4.2 mine has worked really well running at 320Mhz I get 33-35Gh solid.

4.3.3  I will try the newer version and see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ok I have switched to CGminer 4.4.2 and it does seem to be a lot more stable. I was running at 300Mhz for 12 straight hours and they were rock solid running around 36Gh/s average each. Thanks for the reply.

Now on a different question What is the range of temps that are safe for the R-Box when running at 300Mhz the temps increase a bit and one of them shows 47c I am just wondering how high is too high is 47c I backed them back off to 290Mhz for now until I find out if the temps are good to go.

I'm running 6, they haven't skipped a beat. Using main cgminer release.  Although my temps are lower (ambient cooler probably) and no extra fans blowing on them.
Is your extra fan interfering with airflow?

No the fan is blowing to cool all of my miners including 9 Antminer u1's 7 bitwins and 1 nanofuryII as well as the 6 R-Boxes The R-Boxes are positioned so that they intake the coolest air in the room and their exhaust air is carried away by the airflow from the box fan. To clairify it makes no difference whether the miner is at 37 or 40c they all mine fast sometimes and they all slow down eventually. how long they run varies but usually 2 or 3 times a day at least each or all of them must be restarted.

Ill try the later version of CGminer I really would like to be able to run BFG but unfortunately every version of BFG that runs Rockminers is unstable on my set as the Bitwins bomb after after a 30 - 40 minutes or so. So Ill download the newest CG miner and try that.

I think it's dead. But there is another pool for solo mining where I put my antminer. The pool found their very first block and it all goes to the miner who found it.

yeah meaning that the other poor slobs that have had their miners slaving away on the pool get nothing... no thanks if I wanted to wait years for any payout I would just mine solo!

I decided to leave this pool. I am really very worry about the "random" payout of this pool. It's slightly different than other pools.

This are my stats: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1KVYDjPFTDnBdzqKtsLhevVGLp8Baaognv

I've mined mainly on Eligius from the beginning of my mining adventure I can say that I have never once had cause to question the integrity or the security of my payouts. I am a small fish and the pond is getting bigger and deeper by the minute but I KNOW I will be paid when I reach my threshold. (and we solve a block) I like the fact I don't have to worry about someone disappearing with the loot and the fact that there are no mandatory fees charged.... although I have set up a voluntary 1% donation anyway.

If you want to leave the best pool around then go for it... but there really is nothing random about the payout structure here. You get paid in a very specific order based upon blocks being solved of course, but you do get paid for the shares you submit that are accepted. If you are impatient and greedy and set your threshold low you may have to wait a bit for some who have not been paid as recently as you to get paid their due share first. If you set your threshold to an appropriate level to match your hashing power so that you hit it at about a 3 day period you wont have to wait much or often.

Just my 2 cents worth but personally I am glad that the payouts focus on those who have gone longer without first... otherwise I might never get paid for my paltry efforts if the big fish got first dibs all the time.

I have a question for Wizkid. I have my donation levels set so that the total should be right at 1% split between the three accounts however when I look at my stats page it seems that only .1% total is being contributed.

I think there may be a glitch in the code for the donation calculations.

Why is the Eligius payout queue so ridiculously obtuse? Other pools don't have this problem.

It is a feature, not a bug.  Eligius is the only pool where the coins will show up in your wallet as "mined" and not transferred in.  This means that Eligius never holds the funds in a centralized location that can be hacked (well, not "never", but it tries hard to avoid it).  Eligius is what it is.  It is the fairest pool around.  In order to do that, the creators had to get creative.  If you don't like it, mine somewhere else.

I don't. And I do.

then I say to you... good riddance!  Why are you following or posting to a thread about a mining pool you state you do NOT mine on? Troll much?

Has anyone managed to get their Rockminer working with BFG? I downloaded the latest and followed a few threads on here on how to remove all the old zadig drivers. Now when I plug it in, it shows in Win7x64 in my Devices as 'CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller' but drivers are unavailable. Should I go back to using the zadig? If so, which one? Any config suggestions? You are --scan rockminer:all right?

Sounds like you are using the standard windows usb to uart bridge you need to install the SI ones. the zadig drivers will NOT work with BFGminer at all. follow the link install the SILabs drivers and they work fine.

DP has excellent customer service support so far... Quick to respond and made requests fast! Looking forward to putting in more hashing power here...

That's great to hear, thanks!

x3

Edit:

Currently working on adding more merge mineable coins. More updates on this will be provided soon.
I could be way off base here, but I'm under the impression that Maza is merge mineable with Bitcoin. If true, I'd like to see that happen.

Maza isn't "yet".

Very soon, DirectPool will be fully packed with merge mineable coins. (plus more)

We will announce very soon with the big news!

x3
Is DirectPool still operating? I signed up and will mine from there with my Bitmain S1 180 Gh/s. If pool gets lucky, more shares of BTC for existing less than 10 miners. I can leave the miner on forever and ever just to support decentralization of network.

DirectPool has done major updates to the pool and it is almost ready to be "relaunched". More info will be posted within a few days.

x3

So any news? I see nothing since April. I was considering setting this pool up as either my failover or perhaps even my primary (though its hard to beat my currant primary pool for reliability or value) IS Direct pool coming back or is it DOA?
