Is there a device command we can use to specify which Nvidia GPU's we want to run on grin-miner or bminer?   Thanks,

I have been hosting miners with M4L since April and they are absolutely top notch. Quick setup, affordable rates, good communication and quick resolution of issues.

I’m really liking the power and flexibility of their software too. I’ve dealt with other farms having to vpn in to manage an asic on their local network vs. with M4L just logging into your account to setup pools, configure workers or reboot troubled miners with a few simple clicks.

Keep up the great work M4L team and highly recommend others give them a shot.   Smiley Cool

@GPUHoarder @Senseless - this is Ian aka @Techman34 from YouTube and recently covered the FPGA thread from Whitefire and the VCU1525.  Thanks for the comment to help Tom!

Just want to comment that I love what you guys are doing with FPGA.land.  I come from an IT Sourcing background and can appreciate the complexities in dealing with suppliers and to see you guys bridge that gap to bring discounts passed through to the community is huge.  This is really going to help folks get these cards running (and safely modded) with support.  Keep up the great work.  I ordered another card through you guys - order #1249 and wired the money.  I will also give you guys a shout out on my next FPGA update vid.

Also, @OhGodAGirl (since I know you're around these parts) love what you're doing with mineority.io as well.  Keep up the great work!

Cheers,

Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI

Sorry, I've been meaning to make a post related to this.  We have been working with the OP to determine the optimal configuration and board for this application, as we have a few to choose from.

If you could include a table showing how much (LP)DRAM and SRAM (or low-latency alternative) can be hooked up to each FPGA, as well as the resulting cost, that would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

The best thing to hook up to the FPGA would be a hybrid memory cube +$500. This would get you the same level of memory performance as HBM memory. The other nice thing, the HMC has a silicon memory controller on it along with some basic logic functions that can speed up certain applications (xor, and, or).

Can the hybrid memory cube be used with the VCU1525?

No, a new board would have to be designed.

What is the best 64GB DDR4 Ram to get for the VCU1525 then?

Hello,

very intresting project. Sorry for the stupid question but on your video - the pci riser are not connected to the motherboard ? How is the pci fpga card bus communicating with the motherboard ?

Thanks

Normal USB ports

Sorry if it's already been answered.  Is the USB controller a bottleneck for a multi-FPGA build?  On a normal motherboard you can use a USB hub to expand the USB slots but there is a bandwidth constraint on the USB controller itself.  Are a few 4 port expanded controllers needed to expand that to have each FPGA card on it's own dedicated USB controller for max throughput?  Something like the Sonnet Allegro Pro?  Thanks,

Quick update on my experience.  Customer support continues to be top notch.  I was notified quickly of a power outage (that was on the power companies side to repair) and miners were up and hashing very quickly after the repair.

I think it's important to also note that overall the antminers are not created equal.  My experience thus far as far as X's showing up and needing reboots are from best to worst ==>  A3 > L3+ > S9 > D3.  So some miners require more attention that others and you have to keep that in mind because it would be the case if running in your garage or the Mining4Less hosted facility.  Still burning in my X3's so hard to say on those yet.  Sidenote, Mining4Less team is developing X3 support into their dashboard software for reboots/pool management, etc.

But overall, again - want to say that the Mining4Less team is doing a great job and I highly recommend you give them a shot.  It's not that common in this space to find:

  - Great Customer Support with quick communication and issue resolution
 - Powerful Farm Management Software
 - Fast Onboarding from Devices received to hashing
 - Affordable rates from professionals who figured out how to leverage economies of scale

Thanks to Yun, Julia and the full support team for a great experience.  Your formula is working - keep doing what you're doing.   Cheesy Grin Shocked

While feeling sorry for myself for having bought an A3, I started poking around at siamining.com looking at the stats on their "top miners" page and came across the #1 miner:
https://siamining.com/addresses/0104ceeee0c1335e6770b9e620baa87615e1780ea1a5e6bca2df2651c92313f9c3aa56865535

This address has 415 workers, each of which is running at 3Th/s to 4Th/s producing overall around 840Th/s, generating 533,993.75 SC in the last 24 hours, which at the current (0632 PDT 4/27/18)  value of approximately $30 per 1K SC is 553 X 30 = $15,900 per day!

How is this possible? An A3 produces 840 Gh/s, so it seems like it would take 1,000 A3s to produce 840Th/s. Could this be Bitmain running their own (unavailable) miners that they have built to a 2 to 4 Th/s spec? Who else could do this?

Of course, even Bitmain has to pay for electricity, but I would tend to think they would locate their miners close to one of the massive hydroelectricity dams in China or have a monster solar farm to the west of Beijing in the Gobi desert or something equally wild.

Could also be Halong mining - there is a 3.83TH Sia miner called the B52 on their website.  Haven't seen any reviews on it yet, but you know how these ASIC companies mine before they sell so they are probably running many already.

Thanks @yun9999 and Julia at the Mining4less team for helping me get my first two miners up and running quickly and easily.

Really like the interactive mining dashboard where I can monitor, reboot and change pools.  Will probably be scaling up with many more miners and doing a more in-depth review for my youtube channel as well.

Thanks!

MY FARM SETUP

I have been mining for a very long time.  Most of you would know me as Nhan Do from my old Nick that was Hacked, hence why I'm using this new Nick.  I have been thru the many ups and downs of Crypto as well as hundreds of designs and layouts.  What I learned from my experience / ]mistakes, is that it's always best to keep things SIMPLE, EFFICIENT and use Quality components and only buy / support reputable vendors / brands.  I want to have this thread so that many other readers can hopefully learn from my many mistakes and have a better start / experience then I did when I started.
