Cool...Dr.J!!!!...my man...how are you brother and the crew there at Futurebit...keeping busy I imagine and hope...I have been basically offline and tending to other outstanding issues in real-time and well I had the 3 princes as I have come to see them shut down since early March...I needed to gauge the increase and cost of power consumption that the 3 princes were incurring for me and well yea it basically doubled my monthly bill...not surprising due to our of control inflation at this time and well therefore the cost of electricity is being passed onto the consumer...so I have a good idea of what to expect from hence on what my monthly cost in electricity charges will be....needless to say the ROI is way in the red for now and well the truth is that the plan is that what one does get to mine with the miners that in turn at some future date those mined coins will appreciate in value once Bitcoin resumes its bull run and well whatever mined coins one has in their possession will likewise appreciate in value and well that is where one will see the ROI go into the black to the moon...the point is yea right now we are all running in the red big time with well the cost of electricity, the depressed value of bitcoin, and inflation just eating away at our economies.  Well folks this is where one has to just bear out the storm or winter at this time...if you can afford the hit well then take it and actively mine at this time for what you can even if on the books it showing as a running ROI loss...remember this storm will pass and when things turn around it is when those red ROI losses will turn into ROI gains...so yea stay the course and hold onto your mined coins...Diamond Hand Style!!!... Dr. J bro...you be the leader of this very special project you have brought forth and with it an incredible team...and now well followers of yours here on this forum...yea there be the haters of course but then there be a lot of fans and yes supporters of Futurebit and yes supporters who sometimes seem to be critical but hey sometimes they are able to see something that you do not see so bear them out and see what the motivation behind what they say might be coming from...Guys yea sometimes it feels as though the store is open but nobody is minding the store...guess what someone is minding the store and yes that minder will respond to you...have faith...ok Dr. J...I know I am rambling now...Embarrassed...let me just say thank you for the work you do and yes my 3 princes are back up and running and humming away and may they do so for a longggg time...hehehehe...a loyal fan....Tempestblack... Edit: I think my brother figured it out, DMZ was enabled and the FutureBit was the only thing on that list, maybe that's how they're getting in?

Assuming you have a consumer-grade router with DMZ enabled, your Apollo was likely compromised in seconds than minutes!
Never ever put any device in such a DMZ without knowing what you are doing. (Such consumer-grade DMZs have most likely every port open - from SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, every port from 0 to 65535 ...)

So, it seems your brother figured it out! Good! Remove Apollo from DMZ and back in the LAN where it should belong firsthand.

Reset the Apollo to factory defaults and start hashing without any more disturbance.

how to reset to factory defaults ??

Wazzzzz up.... Grin Grin...now I know that we like to come on here and post questions and queries when we run into an issue with the miners and hey it is ok for I have posted a question on here at times myself...but indeed reach out also with your question to the support desk or team at Futurebit itself...it is why I was instructed to do at one time and they did respond to me... that email link addy as to where to write to them is... order@futurebit.io ...so indeed just post the question you do here on the forum to the email addy for them I just posted and well then wait for a response and well keep checking on here just in case as well...Ok folks I am outta here for a minute again...have to corral them chickens...hehehehe... Wink ...Dr. J my man hope you and the crew are doing well and that things are churning along... Wink...Laterrrssss... Smiley Wink Cheesy Grin Cool

P.S.   Oh by the way...Dr. J or anyone there at Futurebit...did any of you find or have the temperature numbers for the Futurebit miners...meaning at different settings in the configuration of the miner what are the temp ranges...so that well the users can just keep an eye out for the temps on the miners and that way no one damages their miner by accident you know...ok someone there hit us up on them numbers...thanks

Hi, loyal Futurebit fans...just wanted to comment on the inquiries about the error rate for the apollo miners...I have had and still continue to have this issue with one of my miners and so I contacted Futurebit Support and this is the response I received from them... mind you it is one response but I happen to agree and understand the response I was given and am at ease about the error rate on my miner...so I copy and paste part of the email response I received from them and it goes..."Yep, that unit is running perfectly! Our software can’t currently filter out bad shares that are spit out by some bad cores out of the thousands of cores that are in your machine, so it shows a higher than normal error rate. If your hash rate was 20% lower as well then you should be concerned your unit is not running well."   Now that is the response I got in my instance and as I said I am confident at ease with the response I was given...the miner does still act up at times as to the error rate but the miner in all other regards including its hash rate has been performing perfectly so my concerns are abated for now...if I were to notice a reduction in its hash rate then I would be concerned but so far so good...Dr. J my man I hope I have not spoken out of turn I just wanted to maybe put the mind at ease of some of your users as to their miners...if I have spoken out of turn please let me know and my apologies...ok that is it for me for now...Dr. J hope you are well and regards to the crew...a loyal fan...Tempestblack... Dr. J!!!...my man...how are you bud...cranking out more apollo's I hope... Grin...I see quite a few posts of recent and well that is a good thing...more clients mean more users means more nodes and miners for the network...hey guys keep up the great work and continue to support Dr. J...aka: Jstefanop ....and the futurebit crew and staff for they are doing amazing work indeed for a long way they have come I remember when I got my first moonlander from them... Grin...by the way Dr. J any news on if you and the crew are going to resume production of the "LTC apollo pod asic miner"...perhaps a new upgraded version...definetly can sign me up for one of those when you do... Grin...let us know for it would be cool...oh by the way for the apollo btc users as to the node and connections I can say that I have been able to keep 31 connections consistently out of the 32 that is with the caveat though that I am connected via ethernet to modem/router with a 1 GB fiber line...finally got a question for you Dr. J and the crew/staff...as to heat...I am wondering if you have some chart or numbers as to what should be normal temp ranges for the miners under the different miner settings and what temp number is too hot or dangerous...would be helpful so that I can stay on top of it and make sure no overheating is taking place on the babies...and by the way, that miner that was giving me errors if you remember...well it seems to settle down when running warm like in the 63 to 64 Fahrenheit range... Cheesy...so you tell me weird uh...lol...well boss that is about it for now...please take care and my regards to the crew...let me know when you have a chance about those temperature numbers would you please...and to the rest of the Apollo BTC fans and followers keep up the great work and the support you have shown and continue to show for Futurebit...great things will continue to come from them...til next time...a loyal fan...Termpestblack... Dr. J!!! my man... Cool...hope all is going well for you and the staff there with the shipments but I am reaching out to you for an issue with my power supply.  I have at this time one of the FutureBit power supplies powering my Node/Miner and well it had been doing just great since I got the unit back in July/August of last year....not a single hiccup thankfully...but a couple of days ago I had to rearrange where I had the miner and power supply devices physically located and was also installing a UPS/Surge protector.  So of course I went thru the process of powering down the miner and then powering down the Node for well I tend to use canned air to blow both the miner and the power supply out of dust.  It was at that moment that I noticed the Lil fan on the inside of the power supply unit was not spinning.  It alarmed me of course that the power supply unit had not failed or simply burned out from overheating for I do not know how long indeed the unit had been working without a freely spinning fan.  Turns out that 1 or 2 the Lil blades are getting caught up in the circular plastic housing part of the fan and therefore had not been letting the fan spin freely.  Well I was able to fix it temporarily and the fan, for now, is spinning freely thereby the power unit not getting possibly overheated but indeed I have to check on it constantly...Question...the Lil component fan in the power unit...what are its specs and is there a vendor whom I can purchase a replacement for it so that way I can order one and simply swap it out with the one in the power unit right now that though for the moment it is working I do not completely trust to remain as such.  Well, that is my story...sighs...lol...any info would be appreciated...and oh by the way...I am chomping at the bit even worse these days awaiting news of the shipment to come...LOL...ok to you and gang there keep up the good work... First of all, wish to welcome back all the folks here from our Thanksgiving holidays and hope you had a good one.  Question for the forum and it is....We all know that the FutureBit Bitcoin miner was specifically designed with the purpose or intention of mining Bitcoin...but being it is a SHA256 ASIC based device can then indeed the Bitcoin miner mine other SHA256 based coins as some have made the argument that it can while others have made the argument it cannot...So which is it if I may ask?... Hiya Jstefanop boss....just wanted to shoot out to you and the crew there with FutureBit a Happy and Grateful Thanksgiving.  I can say that my device is something I this year am grateful for it. It has had no issues so far and yes I keep my wife's cat away from it.  It gets curious about it but it is like ...eh eh eh....kitty no go near the device and then I run her off...lol.. Cool ...but yea device has been working flawlessly since September and over this past weekend I took her offline and shut down the miner and the node...and got a can of air for dusting electronics and carefully blew out some dust that had accumulated on it and some dust off the power supply device and then turned her back on and got node and miner back up and running... Grin  ...thank you for having created this device...by the way...I have my hound dogs keeping an eye out for my 2 new miners that I hope I will be getting sometime by January... Cool ...but yea wherever you and your family are on this Thanksgiving may it be a good and safe one, and well the same goes for the FutureBit crew... Cool...oh yea a holler out to all the fans and bloggers of FutureBit a Happy Thanksgiving to you as well... Cool...Tempestblack

This is for @Gags... Thank you for your post it is awesome to see other members chime in and be helpful to us noobs... lol... To @philipma to you bro I dig your videos and follow your hardware reviews and recommendations and yes I agree let's all go buy I TB crucial NVME cards and replace them in these beautiful Futurebit miner/nodes cause yea I can see the current 500GB drives not sufficing...this is in no way taking away from the beautiful creation by @jstefanop and his team... ideally he will in future releases install the larger 1 TB size NVME cards for due to Bitcoin size the 500 GB will not suffice within 2 years time... by the way philipma a question I pose to you is whether to clone our node drive we have installed currently or to start a fresh node install on what would be the new 1TB drive...and finally @crypto_curious thank you as well for your post every bit of input from the membership is appreciated

To the man who is at the heart of this all...JSTEFANOP...I cannot stop praising you and your team's creation...it is just gorgeous and the Node and Miner Dashboard are just awesome to view and to take in the information displayed on them...please keep up the outstanding work...you have gained a lifelong devotee and client...I so look forward to the second miner that I just ordered and hopefully expect delivery by year's end...and of course, look forward to seeing what new and amazing devices you and your crew design in the near future... Thank you bro for sharing this astounding and wonderful invention and creation with us all... in my book you be a Crypto God... period!!!! I have not touched a Linux-based desktop or operating-related system in years so I am like wandering in a dark forest...lol...hoping not to blow myself up...lol...  ok so I have a question... I know there be a warning and advisement about how to update the system correctly so that one does not wind up bricking the system...I need advice and direction as to how to proceed to update the system without stepping on a land mine and bricking her... look forward to your response or someone from your team...
