Re: Transferring USD between exchanges

Most likely the gap is closed because of arbitrage and services such as ours or aurumXchange. Arbitrage generates profit essentially by feeding on the difference.

Undoubtedly. And yes, that is what this thread is about Smiley I'm sick of Mt.Gox's fees and the way they're implemented, I can't withdraw, transfer out, or buy BTC without paying some sort of fee. That figure in my wallet is misleading - like false advertising.

OK, so from Mt.Gox USD to BTC-e

aurumXchange charge 4.00%
BitInstant charge 3.99%

Some quick calculations for reference

110 - 105.60
120 - 115.20
130 - 124.80
140 - 134.40
150 - 144.00

I've noticed there doesn't seem to be as large a gap between Mt.Gox and BTC-e of late, so unless the fees come down there is now little use in this service.

The only way to speed up transaction confirmations that I know of is to pay a higher mining fee (like 0.001 instead of 0.0005) - but I'm not sure if your wallet controls will allow you to do that from your exchange. Mt.Gox only allows you to use the standard 0.0005

Incidentally, when I first deposited (BTC) in to Mt.Gox, it took almost 40 confirmations (many, many hours) before it appeared in my wallet, which leads me to believe the slow point is not the network confirmations, but rather the exchanges themselves.

Just wondering: what's the problem with going to Clark Moody for the raw data?

At work, I have Bitcoinity open on at least one monitor near by, and at home either on the TV or a virtual desktop on my notebook. I'd rather get my information from a single source. It would be easy to add in to the existing layout, simply add a change bar option (1m, 5m, 10m, 30m, 1h) for "text" that switches from the graphic to twin text columns for the order book.

Here's a really terrible mspaint mockup

Any chance we can get the order book (like Clark Moody). I mean the cumulative depth chart / order change bars are great for a quick glance, but when trying to compete with fractions of cents on bids/asks you really need the raw data.

- I see no way to send to BTC-E (it is not listed in the "Pay to" menu), but the BTC-E site claims it can be funded over Bitinstant. Was this feature removed from bitinstant recently?

Yeah it was possible at one point apparently, but I've noticed that option is gone for the time being. See my topic here:

With a free account in cloudflare you can also mitigate some DDOS.
Uhh, not according to their site.

bitcoincentral last update 19h ago??
Apparently selling at $160. Looks dead to me.

Transferring USD between exchanges
by

Oh look, it's THIS thread again...

So I have BTC and USD scattered across various exchanges (BTC-e, Mt.Gox etc). I can easily consolidate by buying BTC and withdrawing to my personal wallet, but this isn't financially optimal due to the varying exchange rates. I'm curious if anyone has devised a compatibility matrix of the various e-currency exchange services. For example, BitInstant seem happy to transfer from Mt.Gox to BitStamp, but not to BTC-e, aurumXchange will transfer from BitStamp to BTC-e, but not from Mt.Gox to anything (apparently).

Would I be correct in assuming that to transfer USD out of Mt.Gox you have to be verified? I can find literally nothing on Mt.Gox coupons/vouchers - their FAQ only briefly describes redemption for adding funds (not withdrawing).

I've used www.spendbitcoins.com plenty of times in the past. Bit Innovate have a good reputation too.

Hooray it's back. You are a legend. I'm guessing your donations don't cover the $200 a month for CloudFlare?

They've only sent out a couple to reviewers according to Jody at BFL.

Called it! Smiley

The impression I get from that post is that they might, possibly, ship out a few (less than 10) units. Probably the only working ones they have, and probably so they can buy more time because they know the recipients will jump on here and sing BFL's praises. Which boosts pre-orders, which gives them more money to play with, and buys them time.

So how long before an actual customer gets the first "production" BFL ASIC...

You saw it on Bitcoinity.org?  Can you describe the...what-do-they-call-it...'storyboard' of the animation?

A green bar appears at the top 1/3 of the screen with an animated gif that plays in the center for about 10 seconds.

I had an animation too! Though it was different, and happened the day bitcoin crashed. Phew! I'm not the only one!  Grin Grin

Easter egg confirmed

Yes, there are several apparently, check Reddit/Twitter. Unclear whether it's just market based or additionally triggered by a timer (as the market wasn't doing SFA when I saw The Matrix one).

Well I pre ordered 3 first batch and my number was #613, doesn't mean anything could just be their ordering system, end of the day if they are legit and produce a working product could care less if it's only for 500 people or not as long as you queued.

That number would be from the shopping cart database, not a reflection of an individual item. I've configured many osCommerce type shopping carts before, you can usually set a start order number (like #1000) - so your order number isn't worth a grain of salt and tell us nothing. Incidentally, please EDIT your posts rather than spamming the thread.

They can easily tell the first 1,000-2,000 people who sign up that they are of the first 500 people who HAVE to pay 100% as soon as they get an email from them. Where's the accountability that there would ONLY be 500 people offered this option.

You're correct, but possibly misinformed. You can choose to order from the second batch now, the idea being you don't have to cough up (in full anyway) until the first batch (0-500) units are confirmed as legitimate.

http://kncminer.com/categories/miners

That being said, you are correct in stating that we have no way of knowing if the "first 500" item is truly limited to 500 purchases.

Doesn't look like anyone has posted a result for the 7790 yet:

I have used them and they sent the coins before i got back from the bank

I'd be more curious to know if anyone has sold coins to them before (ie. how quickly and reliably they pay out in AUD).
