Re: $1 Billion Dollar’s Worth of Cryptocurrency Stolen in 2018
by

That is a lot of money but I am curious if those thieves quickly cash that money out or they just like other greedy traders or investors that want to wait more so they can cash out more when the price continue to rise. Because if the hackers really did wait then I'm very sure that the $1B worth will go down to only $700-$500M when btc when btc was dumped hard to $3k in December 2018.

Re: Exacly what is the Reason?

Exacly what is the Reason bull run have not started yet?

There is allready good things happening Bakkt, Binance, bitmex large volumes and so...

Still that all its not enough?

Perhaps, investors have either matured or got burnt with their investments and they are much more picky on buying altcoins. Because if we still have the same investors we had in 2017 which is just buying any altcoin that is on the market then we will definitely have the same explosive altseason which occurs on the 3rd quarter of the year and another one by the end of the year.

Re: What do you actually spend your cryptocurrency on?
by
The Cryptologist
on 07/10/2019, 12:24:04 UTC
Back in 2017, I remember spending my bitcoin for my family, buying foods that we need special needs that needed of a son because of his condition (private matters) and also we travel once because of bitcoin, but of course, I converted it to fiat before spending it. I enjoy purchasing with bitcoin is to buy a load, that's what I often to buy with my bitcoin because very convenient to use and easy to transfer load.

Me, too. The last year I tried spending bitcoin on service is only on 2017 to show support on the tech and for the whole crypto space. But now, I don't even bother because things did not go well in terms of financial because of the long bear period. Even in the twitter cryptoverse, those influencers that travel to spend only crypto shared that they only met 4-5 persons that actually spend bitcoin.

Re: Can BTC still have any rally before 2020?
by
The Cryptologist
on 07/10/2019, 04:10:20 UTC
I think btc is now exhausted after it's great rally for almost about 4 months and we might need to wait for a year for it to happen again. Investors might back away for a bit because of the outcome of Bakkt launching and everyone has been joking about the amount of investments that has entered in its circulation. To be honest, I a much more worried about altseason because I am sure btc will be okay no matter what so I hope it should be altcoins that will pump.

Re: Chainalysis research reveals: only a small percentage of mixed coins are illegal

I honestly don't believe this research. With so many scams and hacks going around crypto and add those illegal trades of drug and other stuff, mixers is always their way to go. It should not even be below 20% but should 35%-40% because just like in recent studies, there were billions of money that were stolen in cryptocurrency and they have used mixers to protect themselves.

Things looks really gloomy around so I'm expecting bitcoin to touch only $9,200 by the end of the year. The catalyst that we are all waiting for which is Bakkt does not deliver what we expected. If destiny has a surprise for us and it made a rally again then we should at least see it going for $21k - $23k but there is only a small chance.

Re: Loan to buy Bitcoin?
by
The Cryptologist
on 06/10/2019, 13:00:25 UTC
I'm buying ~500$ in Bitcoin every month with part of my salary. I have a stable job and my company is doing good. I'm wondering if it worth to take 20.000$ to buy 2 BTC now and pay the 500$ as loan installment instead of buying sats every month. I believe in the potential of Bitcoin to reach 50k in a couple years, but it wouldn't be possible to buy near half of BTC at the 500$ rate, so this would be something like an "advance". Hypothetically (but still possible in some probability), if BTC collapses and never recover from 8k, I would still be paying this loan for about 3 years but wouldn't starve or something like that, it would just sux for a while, since I still have another source of income. I know it's not the place to ask I will do whatever I think it's best, but if you were in my position, would you do it?

This is a good option OP, which is as long as you maintain your job in the next years or as you last for that long to complete your loan duties. But I know the feeling that the investment for your future is now but it should not be through loan.  We'll never know the future and if btc reach $50k, we'll also never know if it's in the next 3 years. Though, I can say that the risk you are doing is mild compared to those who make loans like they can guarantee that they can pay it because of bitcoin.

Re: What is the best tips for who will invest in BTC for first time?
by
The Cryptologist
on 06/10/2019, 12:41:04 UTC
For first timers, never ever join telegram/mastermind/secret/vip groups in any part of social media that focuses on shilling their coins or highlighting their trade forecast. Filter the good and informative groups from the shitty one because that is where you will really know how to take care of your investments on bitcoin. Another thing is don't be emotional or if you are, try trading small amount of bitcoin because that will enhance your mind rather than your emotions.

Re: Binance delisting trading pairs
by
The Cryptologist
on 06/10/2019, 12:25:52 UTC
To be honest, I prefer to trade the altcoin pairs with the ETH and BTC, stable coin pairs are the fastest option for liquidating the altcoin holdings. Binance made the right decision for increasing the liquidity on the main altcoin pairs, only some traders choose the USDC or Tether pairs for trading. The day traders are the main driver of the daily liquidity and removing the less liquid pairs will help them from my experience.

Or perhaps pairs with btc, eth and usd. Those three were enough to pair with altcoins on the exchange and not with so many bunch of other more like ltc, tether or even their token's exchange. Most of the popular coins has like 8-10 pairings which is really the culprit behind it's good liquidity. Binance should have known this and implemented strictly from the start.

Re: why i prefer mining and investing in ICO/IEO
by
The Cryptologist
on 06/10/2019, 05:02:34 UTC
Reasons why i prefer mining coins than investing a dime on IEO/ICO projects
1. My profits is assured.
I dont have to wait for a project to do x3 or whatsoever to get profits on my invested cash, with better mining rigs and good calculator you will know when your ROI will come.

2. No worries of getting scammed
I dont have to investigate an exchange before investing or wasting time doing research on projects before investing, all i do is mine ETH and sell for fiat or decides to hold for a little while.

Well ICO has its golden days and now, it's not a good opportunity for any investors anymore. And IEO has given a lot of profits for the brave and smart people that knows that it will deliver specially on the Binance platform. But you are right about mining but it's just a steady income unlike when you were lucky to invest in the first ICOs and IEOs then you could have 20x - 50x easily which is just 3-5 months of your 3-5 years of you mining.

Re: What should I do with a 1000$ and what would you do?
by
The Cryptologist
on 06/10/2019, 04:35:04 UTC
My first thought was to put it in to Altcoins, Like
Ethereum
RSR
Theta
EOS

These would be my picks 100% Which coin would you leave out or add to that?

I was also thinking
Of Buying a Masternode and run it on a Vps, but I have 0 experience with that and I was looking for one and joined a few discords, and it was kinda a shitshow.
So I dont know how to look for good ones yet and it's a bigger risk then Altcoins in my opinion from what I have seen.
Does anybody have any experience with running a Masternode and how did that go for you?

A mining rig is probably to expensive, also the powercosts in my country are not that great so not really a option I think.

Create my own T-shirt Company
I know a Artist I could pay for a design or maybe even a collaboration where he could earn a % of the sales from the t-shirts.
Also have the fabric I want and all the idea's ready to go, this would probably be the most work, creating social media's, trying to get in retail stores, create a brand, and a lot more of course!

If you have any other ideas your welcome to add them, and let me know what you would do!

I suggest that you pursue the t-shirt printing business. Only invest in bitcoin when you made profits in your business. I know t-shirt business that are boooming are focused minimalistic designs. I think you have more shot in the business that waiting for your cryptocurrencies to grow. You will also learn a lot of skills in business. Cryptocurrencies is more like side-investments which you can be 50/50 on it's profits or could just be long game.

Re: Sold my house for buying altcoins need your help
by
The Cryptologist
on 06/10/2019, 04:21:17 UTC
this is my current investments. do u have any suggestion

20k$ = BNB
20k$ = ADA
20k$ = EOS
20k$ = XEM
20k$ = NEO
10k$ = XRP

OMG OP, what have you done? Those coins are not moving significantly in the last 2 years except BNB. But I think BNB's fame has gone over because IEOs are now busted and CZ's pump machine does not have enough power to make investors believe that there is still profit or magic in investing non-sense hyped tokens. You better find a job and just forget about it and perhaps that in the next 2-3 years, the crypto market will be much more friendly to us and the best you can get is recover all you funds to get your house back.

Re: The Things That Comes Into Your Mind When Winning...
by
The Cryptologist
on 06/10/2019, 04:02:19 UTC
Like you said OP, my mind will urge me to make my winnings double. Perhaps, it is because that my thinking is that I have done it successfully so there is a chance that I can pull it off again. But if it was a huge jackpot price then I would get out of gambling immediately and buy the things that I could not have or afford when I am broke and leave gambling for good.

Re: How many times have you gone against majority
by
The Cryptologist
on 06/10/2019, 03:45:02 UTC
Sport betting is strange when it wants to be, it never a sure fact the impossibility can turn possible.
When booking a bet many bets on what the majority had placed before hand.
What am I saying betting site releases games for betting and gives an option where you see what others has selected and very often it's the one with the lower odd that  people place bet on.

Last week Saturday was a Turing point for me as I refused to bet with majority(31-8-2019) and placed a draw on the match between osasuna and FC Barcelona. Most people would see it as an unwise decision but that's soccer the foolish thing can turn out to be wise.

How many times have you gone against the crowd and smiled to the bank

It's simple and its because in sports betting, the lower the odds on that  team or player then the bigger the winning prize. I often see these on boxing match and when you bet on the pound for pound boxer, then you will only win like 1/3 of what you can win on the challenger or the underdog. So it's the gambling rules still applies which is the higher the risk, the higher the reward.

Re: sudden drop in BTC?
by
The Cryptologist
on 05/10/2019, 13:18:03 UTC
In the present days the BTC market is going down and there is some fluctuation in the price but that is just to test the patience of the traders and the investors because when the big fishes wants to invest the price just go down and they buy the BTC at low price and when the market recover itself and come to the original state then they just dump the coin and make a heavy profit.

I would suggest that you keep a strong patience and set tight. Market will recover itself.

Do you think that i am right?  Go ahead and share you thoughts about the current market situation and your point of view.

I think some group of big traders dumped the bitcoin price so they can have a bigger spread when it recovers. We all noticed that btc always fluctuates from $8k range back to $10k so I think they have done a great timing to dump it much lower.  But now, I don't feel any excitement when things go sideways for many months and also the hype on Bakkt does not even contribute to the price going up which makes me more worried in the next months.

by
The Cryptologist

No as in never. Bitcoin is always the number one choice investment for the veteran and newbie investors and it's undoubtedly the digital gold. Ethereum was only relevant because these bunch of shitcoin are using its blockchain to create thousands of their own project. Ethereum will never be ever as great as bitcoin because honestly, ethereum  is just also like litecoin which is just a copycat of bitcoin.

Altcoins that will not have an exceptional product or business that will be in demand to the public, will never be able to survive much longer. The customer or an ordinary consumer must need their product so that their own coin will be fully utilized and to have its importance. Those partnerships that they announced will always be nothing if there is no outcome or numbers that is produced.

Re: Which betting type gives you the most payout?
by

In my experience, it's either hi-lo or baccarat. Those games are my favorite because so far in my gambling history, those two are the only games that manage to give me sweet, sweet profits. I've been exposed to baccarat in my childhood so I'm don't feel nervous playing it so it's much easier to me to focus to game. While even hi-lo is new to me, it's very easy to play that I can choose auto which can go big easily.

by
The Cryptologist
on 05/10/2019, 04:59:57 UTC
I  highly suggest OP that you just go fulltime as a programmer. You would earn much more on that career and you continue to learn a lot more coding to enhance your knowledge which means much more broader experties that you can offer to your client which also means bigger pay. Then if you got so much extra money, invest it in bitcoin. In that strategy, you won't lose a lot because you are only long on btc and it's just extra money that you are spending to buy it.

Re: Panic selling and postpone from trading, which one is the worse one?
by
The Cryptologist
on 05/10/2019, 04:40:17 UTC
The worst for me would be is postponing for trading. It's only good if you only bought and hold btc but I highly doubt it for most of the traders. So postponing is like being an irresponsible trading because things can happen fast in crypto and just taking an off for months can give you a lot of surprising changes that will definitely tell to yourself that you messed up. Panic selling will only happen on you first trades because you will learn valuable things as you move forward.
