He is now deciding to up the transfer fees on the TRX network, but those fees get shared between the SRs (Super Representatives) and TRX Freezers. Another incentive for people to freeze their Tron, to avoid these problems...

I wrote this poem for newbies, i've also added few guide links within.

Welcome to the world of Satoshi
You've just been giving the door key
And now you're feeling like the SHIT
Please do take off your shoes
Grease yourself with the rules
It's easy if you pay attention
Pun intended if you plan to shun it
If you do, you may need a gentian
There are several sections
Familiarize yourself with good intention
Or you'll be thrown to another dimension
Trust me you don't wanna rush to detention

Oh bitcointalk, a home away  from home
A world full of wonders even from the phone
A home full of experts, kindness if you know your role
Your motive will determine your parole
Be helpful, be kind.
Be eager to learn not only to earn
Copy someone's work and be punished
Repeat it again and again and be banished
Your strength is your weapon
Your weakness is your motivation
Your focus here shouldn't be for authentication posts
Trash that goal and build a home

This is a community, be a member not an abuser
Do not trust people easily
Don't misquote but stay afloat
Until your goal is to devote
With these you can grow in rank
Don't forget others who need you to grow
We are all in this together, so buckle up newbies
First thing to do as a newbie is to read this and this
We shall make bitcointalk great again.

I hope this made you smile.  Wink

Welcome to Bitcoin, the digital dough,
Its picking up pace, after starting off slow.
Getting in now, your still an early adopter,
Await your lambo and private helicopter.
This forum will help you learn all there is to know,
Hopefully helping your wallet balances glow.
Be careful to read the rules and regulations,
Then enjoy the joy of these crypto sensations!

I dont think it is fair to call it an overhyped shitcoin, when it is clearly the more efficient way to setup DeFi platforms. Unless you are dealing with thousands of dollars per transaction, then ETH is far too expensive to use as your dollars in fees per transaction. TRX you can have free transactions if you freeze enough and if not, at worst, the transactions cost me 8/9 trx (under 30 cents) if I do too many. Its a no brainer for me effiency wise. Thats why platforms like Forsage etc moved from ETH to TRX.

So they have just voted FOR a proposal to pretty much 4x the transaction fees on the Tron Network. Pretty much means for burner wallets to do certain transactions it can cost a good few TRX per transaction. What do you guys think of this change?
Changing the transaction fee to be 4x more expensive, that means it will make transactions confirmed faster too, right? If that is the case, it doesn't matter to me because the current transaction fees are still very cheap for TRON, and Tron's prices are also very cheap.

But they were already very fast beforehand? They didn't need changed IMO as it was already efficient. They are still FREE for me because I only do a withdraw on a couple platforms per day and I have enough TRX frozen to cover those.

Very good for miners of course. I go with Ark.io Ecosystem for very low fees

Tron isnt minable... If I am mistaken, the TRX is burned. Thats what creates the energy you need to complete the transaction.

I think because the transactions were so cheap before, that dapps were able to bring out casinos etc where you could auto roll (on chain) because transactions were so cheap and it was congesting up the chain... well thats what I think. According to Justin Sun, it is to get more people freezing and voting on governance which in turn, balances and stabilizes the ecosystem as a whole.

Is this just a proposal or already out in the market?

I'm sure many supporters of TRON will be against to this one and they might not approve this because TRON is one of the cheapest platform and many might leave this if they push it through. Though this might not be a big increase to some, many might still hesitant to agree but if TRON knows that its for the best of the project, then why not.

It has been voted through and is effective. You can view the vote on Tronscan. Both for Bandwidth AND Energy have been approved. Sad

I personally do not mind it. It gives people incentive to freeze a bit of their holdings for Energy (mostly), which they will earn small rewards on, contribute to voting which is currently mostly governed by whales, and overall stabilize the ecosystem. I already had a bit frozen on all my main wallets that I use on platforms so it wont directly effect me unless using sub-wallets. How is it effecting you guys?

I really do think it can hit $1 before the airdrop on the 12th, but I cant help but think that after the snapshot that a lot of whales might dump a lot of their XRP. I hope I am wrong though Smiley

I took some profits at 0.47 today. The price has retraced now. That was a big move from xrp that I wasn't expecting. I saw my spot balance and opened a short order on ftx and made some profits. My short-term price prediction is $0.63. But that is if Bitcoin doesn't come to spoil xrp party too soon.  Who else traded the recent xrp price surge?

I got in at 22 cents I think it was or around that area, maybe a tad cheaper. I think 63cents is a very reasonable price prediction. I see it has risen further to 50+ cents currently and I do think it will gradually hold or increase further up until the Spark Token airdrop, then I think it will possibly drop. I will probably hold mine until then and then decide what to do after the snapshot.

Re: Take Profits in BTC or USDT
by
TheBunting43
on 22/11/2020, 22:58:02 UTC
There is some confusion when it comes to BTC Market or USDT Market and sometimes it is difficult to decide to take profit in which currency, BTC or USDT.

I give you an example here and hope anyone can explain in detail.

ETH was 0.035 BTC few months ago and it was around 400$ USD. I did not took the profit and did not sell Eth.

Today, ETH is 0.028 BTC but in USD it is around 540$. (buz BTC price is high)

Now if i had sold it earlier at 0.035 BTC, so today's its worth would have been 660$.

So what's is the best approach in this case to get the maximum profit ?

IMO it depends if you are "cashing in" and plan on selling it and taking the fiat currency to use to pay bills etc. If this was the case I would sell it based on the USDT price and then convert to fiat to do so.

If not, I would be using the BTC price, as I will be wanting BTC profit that I can then either bank, or use on my next altcoin venture.

There is more than one way you can bank your profit, which is why i love the space Smiley

Do we expect a dump in XRP price after the 12th December though? As soon as the snapshot is taken for the airdrop I can see a lot of people selling off a big amount of their XRP holdings.

Hey guys,

I have a question regarding the Spark airdrop for XRP holders. I seen that Binance were considering supporting the airdrop, but have not seen any confirmation. Is there any other major exchanges confirmed support for it for the screenshot etc on Dec 12th?

Participants are listed here: https://flare.xyz/supporting-exchanges/

P.S. Avoid Gatehub at any cost

Thanks for the help
I see that Uphold is there, I am surprised by that but I may use them for the screenshot Smiley

I havent used Gatehub, I assume it is not upto par?

Re: How to securely store your Bitcoin

From the few years I have been involved in this space, I have realised that I want to store my crypto the exact same as how I store my money... In several different places/wallets.

I have learnt that I don't want to have a vast majority of my holdings in the one wallet. I have various wallets that I actively hold funds in now, from exchange wallets - holding crypto I use for scalping and other trades, to a hardware wallet - for holding crypto that I just want to hold for the future and stake where possible. I personally think that is the safest way to hold crypto.

Re: What do you think about the price of Bitcoin now? Take profit or greed?

What do you think about the price of Bitcoin now? Take profit or continue to greed? I understand how you feel about Bitcoin's price crash in the past. And many people are thinking about taking their profit when Bitcoin go back its old top around 20k USD. If you look at the chart of Bitcoin recent days, you can see Bitcoin continuously  sold down at the price 18.2k USD, it shows that many people had already taken their profit but it was immediately bought around the price 17.5k USD and be supported very well at here
https://i.imgur.com/qqeUqqs.jpg
Let's think about what happened next when they had already taken profit? the break of its old top and keep going up? In my opinion, I see the price movement of Bitcoin this time compared to 2017, there is a difference significant when we see the monthly chart of Bitcoin.

1. The first period is from Jan-2017 to Jan-2018
https://i.imgur.com/mWTXntO.jpg
-->There are almost no adjustments, and the price went straight from 1200$ to 20.000$

2. The second period is from Jun-2019 to Nov-2020
https://i.imgur.com/56j4oQK.jpg
--> The price moves in its correct trajectory (maybe Elliott's wave) with some significant corrections.

Beside that, I want to show an interesting information about the difference between BTC flowing into and out of all exchanges.

(Source: https://cryptoquant.com/overview/full/474?window=day)
We can see the red candles represents for a drop in Bitcoin deposits on exchanges and that could be a sign that there is little taking profit here on exchanges (there may be trading on OTC exchanges)

Finally, this is just another view of the market from me. And with long-term investors, you also shouldn't have too much headache about profit taking or not  Roll Eyes

I think the market is basically controlled by the marketers, so, if they are taking profits at that level then there is a possibility of the price crashing to a lesser value within  a short time frame and also considering the fact that the US elections are still to be clear on the outcome of the winner, I see an impact on the price of Bitcoin as a result of this in a short while.

You could be very right here. It will all boil down to whenever the mast majority see the price as very enticing and want to cash in on that price. I do however think that this wont happen until we at least get past ATH as people will be using that as a checkpoint in their heads imo. As for the election, I think this has already made most of the impact on the market already. I do think that this potential vaccine for the virus could impact the market aswell if that gets the green light to go ahead, what you think?

I needed some money so even before this bull came, I am already selling a small percentage of my holdings.

The market is not well but pandemic happened and in the past couple of weeks, my parents' house was hit by multiple and consecutive typhoons which are really traumatic for them as they are old. I need to send them some money and my salary is not enough so I sell some while still saving from the mBtcs I am getting every week. I am not choosing either of the two because I needed it.

I must say, this has been wonderful timing for you then, considering you were needing to sell off some BTC regardless and it is soaring in price atm Smiley well done!

As for your parents, I am sorry to hear that this has happened to them, hope you can get everything sorted and that they were not hurt mentally or physically from the typhoons.

As for the mBTCs you are getting every week, do you mean from bounties etc on this? or faucets etc?

After the last patch absolutely destroying the FFAR and now making it completely unusable, I find myself looking for the new best gun to use in public matches. I enjoy the M16 and MP5 still, but they aren't as dominant as what the FFAR was. Anyone managed to find out what the next dominant weapon is? Thoroughly enjoying the new Call of Duty so far Smiley how are you guys finding it?

I personally think there is a lot more upside to gain before we start to peak. Most testing points have been broke through relatively easily so far so IMO I don't see any reason why it can't go further to test ATH. I think if it goes to 25k+ then I might liquidate some BTC into stablecoin for the time being until a pullback occurs. Other than that I am wanting to hold onto my sweet sweet BTC. Smiley
