I am looking for an exchange too for buying Animecoins. I went to the OP but links to the exchanges listed there seem to be dead. Also, I tried clicking the link to the official site, but it is dead as well. Can somebody update me with the latest exchanges, please?

Have you tried solo mining with the wallet? I don't know if it works. Thanks to raganius i have successfully set up an amazon micro server, like the tutorial above on this page.
