I have a thought. The first bean that jumps to my mind when I think of beans is the coffee bean. Love that little bean. We're uniquely positioned given our name to be able to work with that. So, though I no longer live in Seatle, where there are local, independant coffe shops on almost every corner, I do live within walking distance of a pretty cool little coffee establishment. I'd love to see Bitbean positioned as THE preferred crypto of everyone's favorite local, independant coffee house.
Toward that end, I'm more than willing to approach my neighborhood store about accepting Bitbean. Heck our logo pretty much sells itself! But, as the tech-side is not my forte I'd want something to show off besides a cool concept and a great logo. So, hoping the Dev can come through with the new website and updated wallet (explaining to a merchant how to make a conf file makes for a pretty short meeting I'd imagine). I'm more then willing to put together a marketing package for the coin and make an actual sticker out of the Bitbean Accepted Here logo and, with a cool website and new wallet, sell it to my local shop (cause that is my forte
). After that, well one bean at a time. Thoughts?

This is why I prefer moderated threads. If anyone has been paying attention trolls have been baiting the dev non-stop for days now, the way he responded could have been better but we are only human.
When I see a coin with a moderated thread i am out instantly.. Censorship is no solution, a real coin can withstand fud and some fud is always a good sign

It must suck to see a coin you paid for or code yourself get tremendous press 1mill visitor page a day
1 month after you push a shitty update with out even announcing that might have made us all lose our money and I'm not going to talk about the donation fund dump followed by a sneaky escape. Where were you when the community take over happen? Even if we're for real you lost my trust completely.

what happened was i made a good update that just had a small error (the tx fee part.) it couldnt get past the first few blocks when syncing from scratch.
i reverted the commit after i tried syncing from scratch.
there was no "scam" it was an honest mistake that i fixed.
i was the one that caught the mistake and i fixed it. no "other guy" fixed it. it was me.
after i fixed it i dumped my coins and left.
wasnt much anyway since no premine or anything.
those coins you call "donations coins" were all my personal coins. except 3 million of them were a real donation.
so why would you think i would make the chain stuck on purpose to dump 11 million coins at 20 sat? there was like 30 btc buy support no one needed to do anything to sell. was very liquid. infact my bitb were converted into btc in less than 1 second.
after reading that article and after asking around, i found out this new "dev team" are the ones that wrote the article.
also since they are the ones that wrote that article, its very funny and sad that they don't know how checkpoints work.
"checkpoint that already happened" trolololol maybe this magic dev team will predict the future and put a blockhash from the future

This forum is designed for new users and veteran owners of Bitbean, as a simple and effective way to engage in discussion. This will serve as our front-facing, public forum. There will be another forum for Team Bean as well, that will have more advanced features.

Turning off my wallet. I don't own 1% (just under it so I "could" keep my wallet on and been in the letter, but not the spirit of this one of a kind holiday) but this is one of those occasions where my self interest in the short run may do more harm in the long run. "Non-cooperative-cooperatve game theory." Ultimately, working together, we all win. Call me naive but that's the coin I want to own and community I want to be a part of.

Update
Just wanted to give everyone an update. Progress is being made on our new infrastructure. We have a new server in place and work is progressing on a new website, a forum, collaboration tools and back-end infrastructure. We are putting into place what is needed to develop and support Bitbean for the long haul. A lot of this development takes time. What we are doing is much like building a company from the ground up, so a lot of things need to be put in place and setup. Hopefully soon and we'll have some news to share.Thank you for your patience.

Done right is always preferable to fast and half-assed. Take your time. To extend your metaphor even a real bean plant needs the right ground conditions and fertilizer to grow a heathy bean stock.

Why turn off wallet? The goal is to lower Network Weight by a lot so that people with small amounts of beans can have a higher percent in finding a block, creating lots of happy costumer's.
This is much better than just giving out free coins, gaining stakes help you appreciate the value of your coin and this will boost its Well-being.

It's generally good practice to encrypt your wallet. However, note you will not stake while your wallet is locked. So, choose an encryption phrase to lock your wallet but then unlock it right after for the purposes of staking only.

Just split your coins into different addresses on the same wallet, Then you'll find tons of PoS blocks that gives 1k coin each...

oh really using strategy is abusing it?? everyone can do it and it will make the network weight skyrocket and stay high.
if others don't have the patience to do it, it's no ones fault but their own... and it's a lot better than just the people with 10's of millions getting all the blocks

If decentralized currency is the "goal," can they see the dangers inherent in object dismissal of new coin based solely on the position that the coin is derivative or imposes on a prior coins toes? We all "stand in the shoulders of the giants that came before us," and to outright reject the next step, the next innovation, regardless how "derivative" creates hierarchies. In other words, Rejection = the creation of crypto Banks of America, Case Banks, Wells Fargos, etc. and places "centralized" authority in only the "select few" "worthy" coins. I'm certainly not saying that scammers in the name of innovation should run wild and free, but there is danger inherent in the ontological weighing of coins without deeper reflection.

we, the new dev-team have been very busy the last days and were focusing
more on dev-work and networking thats why we haven't released any announcement
on the forums. I will post an new ANN-thread once the new client is ready for release.
we are now working on the release of an multipool which will stabilize and
raise the SHIBE-value. And we also have some longterm plans for this coin.
An updated client and shibe-onlineshop will be released the next few days. We are now in final testing stage
of the new client.
IF you miss something. let us know.
