Re: Why Bitcoin won’t reach the full 21 million supply ?
by
TokenTikas
on 25/08/2025, 05:32:43 UTC

Now have come with a simple question that will strike some good discussion here , and hope as time goes more related  topic like this will come . So just like the title implies , we all know that the theoretical maximum bitcoin supply is 21M BTC . But will it ever actually reach that number ?
please drop your opinions .
Yes, the maximum limit of bitcoin is 21 million, but in reality, even if that number is fully mined, not all the coins will reach us. Because many bitcoins have already been lost due to forgotten private keys, damaged hard drives, sent to the wrong address, etc.

So theoretically there may be 21 million, but there will be fewer usable Bitcoins. And this is what makes bitcoin even more expensive and scarce. Such questions force us not only to imagine, but also to think deeply.

Re: Challenges and potential solutions for bitcoin mining in Nigeria
by
TokenTikas
on 25/08/2025, 05:24:41 UTC
All this involves the government intervention if possible they decides to build a local market for mining gear and experts in Nigeria, it will make our country Nigeria a major crypto mining country in Africa.
I noticed a minimal decline in bitcoin mining in Nigeria, and you have correctly highlighted its reasons, especially wheat availability.

What I think is most important is that where there is a problem, there is a solution. Suppose the government really focuses on renewable hydropower. In that case, a large part of the power problem of the entire country, not just the mining industry, can be solved. And if the power problem is solved, the country will go a long way.

If educational centers are set up to teach mining technology, many young people will gain an alternative skill outside of their jobs. This will benefit not only individuals but the entire economy. Finally, Nigeria can become Africa's central mining hub if government initiatives are started in this sector.

Re: A Reminder to my fellow Nigerians to Secure Your BitcoinTalk Account
by
TokenTikas
on 25/08/2025, 05:12:50 UTC
Greetings fellow Nigerians so After doing some research on the forum........
Yes, you have raised many important points. We often think about the security of crypto wallets as much as we are aware of them, but we do not think about the security of bitcointalk accounts. However, many people's credibility, work records, and participation in various projects are deeply involved with this account.

Especially those who have used old emails or have forgotten their email passwords should update them now. The password should also be something that cannot be easily guessed but you can remember. Saving it in Google Password Manager can also be risky. Therefore, these arguments can be reduced.

I have said something about how to reduce the risk of the account:
1: You have to set up an active email in the account. The email must be secure and everything in the account can be done with that email.
2: You have to use a strong password that is capable of being used by you and the password is very strong.
3: You have to implement 2FA. Adding 2FA further increases the security of the account.

Finally, I think security shouldn't just be limited to wallets and bitcointalk , but should be present in every part of our online interactions.

Re: Can Bitcoin Replace Land and Gold as Store of Wealth in Nigeria?
by
TokenTikas
on 25/08/2025, 05:01:01 UTC
My question to the house is this:
Do you believe that it is possible that Bitcoin could actually supplant land and gold as the chief store of wealth in Nigeria, or will it remain a modern adjunct to the old ways?
My personal opinion is: I see bitcoin bringing a significant change in the concept of wealth, but again, I'm skeptical about whether it will become an alternative to land or gold in a society like my country, Nigeria which values real and material wealth. Instead, it can be a modern addition. It is almost as if you have land on one side and BTC in the digital world on the other. It is better to balance both sides. If someone were to ask this question standing in the present, I think this is the answer that will come.

Quote
Would you personally prefer to hold most of your savings in BTC, rather than buy land?
Again, to answer your second question, personally speaking, I would never favor avoiding land altogether and saving in BTC because land has a (tangible value) that you can touch, leave for your next generation, and use when necessary. BTC can certainly be profitable, but it comes with risks. It is wise to think of the two together - a little land and a little BTC- and have both so that wherever the future takes you, you will always be stable from where you are.

Overall, I think that generations are changing, but the true meaning of wealth is still security, inheritance, and future provision. No matter how you achieve that, that's the real issue.

Re: Request to purchase my account

No need to report the user. I am 100% certain that moderators will do nothing about it.
If the moderators do not do anything about this issue, then it will not be right at all because the forum moderator is engaged in the work of looking after all kinds of problems in the forum. But you have already said that reporting to the forum moderators will not be of any use and you have also said it with 100% assurance. I think this is not a good aspect for this forum at all.

I don't know what most newbies are turning into, becoming too lazy to grow their accounts on their own, instead would want to have already made account. The funniest thing is that, even though they purchased an account it wouldn't waste time to be spotted out because their experience in the space can't be compared with the original owner who owns the account from origins.
I was confused for a while after seeing your post. Those who work on selling accounts in this forum are some kind of criminals. Everyone here welcomes new people very nicely. As far as I know, there are many rules in the forum and there are many big members who are working on identifying distorted accounts. Therefore, it seems that no one can run an account here for a long time. Those who waste their time buying an account today definitely do not get anything good and in the end they lose everything. That is why as a new member, I think that if you can learn slowly, this is the best way to get up.

I am a new member myself. I don't know if I will be able to achieve anything good, but I have developed a soft spot for this forum, so I will try to do something good.

It feels different when you accept me like this and help me move forward nicely by giving me guidance and suggestions. I'm forever grateful to you. If I had not thought about anything that way, seeing everyone's comments has created a different love for the forum since coming here. It is a beautiful platform to exchange knowledge and discuss with new people.

Above all, I feel blessed to be here because there is a platform like this, where you can exchange views with everyone and master many things well by spending time here. If you do not understand something, it can be explained beautifully, and if there is a mistake, it can be corrected beautifully. I now try to spend the necessary time here and am learning a lot from here. Smiley

I think let ho down real life in Nigeria can somebody ever sell cans to invest in bitcoin? That is one, checking from the Nigeria government economy is i think the story behind someone accumulating funds to invest in bitcoin through uncoventional means like selling cans which might be more complex that it seem, considering Nigeria economic challenges and recently increased in minimum wages to 70k which we understand i indeed tough for investors
I think that with Nigeria’s economic challenges such as inflation, low wages (70k naira), and unemployment, it is very difficult to raise funds for investment. Many people raise money from temporary sources of income, such as selling cans. However, with patience, planning, and proper risk management, small investments in Bitcoin have a chance of success. But how can they think of investing in bitcoin when they are struggling to survive on this small salary? However, those who want to invest even a little from this can do so. Above all, it is wise to move forward step by step in line with reality, but it is very difficult.

Re: Don't discouraged me that am wasting my time investment in bitcoin
by

on 23/08/2025, 23:26:53 UTC
Many people are very good in discouraging others from pursuing their dreams, and  that is very bad, never you look back in your investment journey, don't be discourage by the present dip, always look beyond today and see the great potential of Bitcoin ahead .
Many will feel its taking  too long, many will feel is too expensive to buy, but regardless of all this  challenges keep pushing, don't relent, one day does trying to pull you out of track, those laughing at you will join and celebrate you.
I see this sometimes. Many people belittle the dreams of others, but dreaming and fulfilling them takes patience. Not only dreaming, but you have to make a lot of sacrifices to fulfil that dream. Fluctuations in investments like Bitcoin are normal, and it takes time to understand and adapt. In investing, you also have to make a lot of sacrifices. Those who are afraid to leave at the beginning regret it later. And for those afraid to leave, it is better not to dream.

Those who believe and persevere will one day succeed. So never give up, you have to move forward with patience. Only then is it possible to get something good in the future, and it is not possible to get anything good.

Re: Are you worried about the Bitcoin market today?
by
TokenTikas
on 23/08/2025, 22:43:47 UTC
We shouldn't expect the market to be always on green at all time, whenever I comes across a post that talks about market or price of currency dropping it makes feels that people do not really understand the how the market function or being operated. At least they should know that there are thing very much possible in the market that they must always experience and which is constant drop in price and constant increase in price, this would keeps happening almost at all times because this is what making the price to gain correction and create new price level or soar above expected.
We shouldn't be that always expecting the market to bull at all time because the market could drop slightly or above expected. So my pipo of 9ja e go better say we get patient to wait for the market and also accumulate when we see say chances dey to acquire am.
Yes..

Many people think the market will always be green and profits will keep coming, but we see the reality completely differently. We know very well that the market will fluctuate and there will be corrections, so we must be patient and make decisions at the right time. If anyone gets scared only when the price falls or blindly invests when they see green, then it seems like a fool. It is natural for the market to rise and fall, there is nothing to fear.

To survive in the current market, you need to know and do a lot of analysis, and when the opportunity comes, you need to use it. You cannot always expect a bull market, nor can you be disappointed by seeing a slight decline. You should wait patiently during market ups and downs and take steps wisely.

Unfortunately, in Nigeria there is no job as a mid person that you are going to do that is going to brings you money to even do dollar cost average. The minimum wage now is ₦70k and many companies and the state government aren't paying that amount of money to people. You have to be doing well enough and not earn in Naira to be able to afford Bitcoin with dollar cost average. How much is even ₦70k in dollars, that's like $60 or less, you might end up using all your savings to be able to afford $50 worth of Bitcoin. We still have a long way to go in this country and it's sad.

Your comment is trying to highlight how complex the current reality is. In fact, from the outside it may seem like (you just have to work), but the reality inside is completely different. If we generally think that the minimum wage is below $60, then think about (me/you) having to support (your/my) family with that money, then will you have any money to invest in bitcoin? In such a situation, investing in bitcoin becomes a dream for us.

The saddest thing is that despite so many potential people, they are systematically not given that opportunity. Some lift cans, some do freelancing, and some survive by running small businesses, while the mainstream opportunities of the economy remain beyond their reach. There is no one to control it. It is also true that this is not enough, earning a minimum livable income from that work is also essential. With the value of the naira decreasing every day, investing or saving based on the dollar exchange rate has become a luxury for many.

The way the modern world moves forward, it seems the next generations will become utterly dependent on this crypto. Crypto has already gained popularity among the younger generation and bitcoin has become the middleman for everyone. Crypto cannot be imagined without bitcoin. Everyone is interested in bitcoin and the number of bitcoin investments is increasing daily. The next generation will definitely do everything in bitcoin. The next generation will not understand anything without bitcoin because everyone is interested in bitcoin from now on. We ourselves are also explaining crypto to our young children, and they are also learning about bitcoin, which means that the next generations will have the stability of bitcoin.

Those who say bitcoin is not for everyone know nothing about it. Because Bitcoin is universal, anyone can buy it without any restrictions. There is no need to face any problems when buying bitcoin. Bitcoin can be bought as much as one wants. It is not just for the rich, everyone can buy it.

In the modern era, Bitcoin is the most advanced because it has become universal and has created trust in everyone's mind. You can buy bitcoin wherever you are and sell it at your convenience. Bitcoin is not just for the rich; it is universal and for everyone.

You made it very nice, if you want, it can be made beautiful by someone. Since you have made such a tool where many sources can be found together. I want to tell you one more thing as a new one, that is, this tool has many more important guidelines within it, if you can add them, then the thing will become more beautiful. I shared this with you as my personal opinion, you can do it if you want.

Hey there OP, I just realized the dark mode on your site isn't fully dark. I thought it would be like Pitch black themed dark, but it isn't. The current one only covers a portion of the site. So my suggestion would be make it complete pure dark. That would look better to the eyes! Just my two cents, of course...apart from that, everything else works out for me perfectly.
I think the OP did not think much about it, that is why it did not give so much importance to the dark mode. However, it could have been made a little more beautiful if the whole thing was made in dark mood and the sectors could have been given a different coloring shape. Maybe he has plans to make the design more beautiful with it in the future. Let's see what he does in the future.

Yes, you are right that this thread has been given priority over the translation post. Since everyone is giving more priority to English than translation, it would be better if it was in English.

OP, put the English link also here. This will make them not against you. I prefer here to discuss about it.

This is a mistake that many new investors make so it is important to store your funds in good wallets when buying and selling bitcoin there is a big risk in exchange wallets. If the exchange is hacked or shut down for some reason then there is a possibility of losing your bitcoin this is because the private key of this wallet is with the exchange and not with you that is why you can use hardware wallets where your bitcoin private key is stored safely offline. If you want to hold large amounts of Bitcoin for a long time then you should definitely use a hardware wallet this will give your bitcoin maximum protection.
Nowadays, it is seen that many people are rushing to invest just because of the 'hype' without knowing or understanding it. However, whether it is Bitcoin or any other investment, if you enter it without understanding the philosophy, technology, and risks behind it, you are far from making a profit. On the contrary, there is a high risk of losing your hard-earned money. Many people only see that 'such and such is making so much profit' and then jump into investing without understanding. Later, it is seen that they suffer losses and say various things. They are unaware of this beforehand, so they end up in such situations. On the other hand, many people start from here, understand it well, and slowly move towards profit.

- As a beginner, what should I do here? Should I slowly start
learning from here or should I try to invest along with learning?
First of all, it is essential to learn. I'm still at the very beginning, trying to understand the matter. I did not understand what was happening or what I would do if I invested without knowing why. So, if I can do a little practical experiment along with learning gradually, the learning will be deeper and the risk will be less. In fact, this is how I started from the beginning.
