Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.9.2 - native algo switching

It's been awhile since I've used SRB Miner.  Mining XMR  using 2x Strix Vega 56s with Hynix Memory (and latest drivers as I don't only mine with the system) Can't really go above tweak profile 2 without artifices, same goes if I raise mem clocks to high (930+)  Is there anything else I can try based on the information I am giving here?  I think it's fairly ok.. not sure what else I can do. Thanks for any advice.

GPU0 :    1780 H/s [T: 55c, RPM: 1998, CC: 1307 MHz, MC: 900 MHz][BUS:29]
GPU1 :    1796 H/s [T: 65c, RPM: 2446, CC: 1307 MHz, MC: 900 MHz][BUS:32]
Watts around 160 per card (GPUZ)

Batfile:

setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_MAX_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_MAX_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
@echo off
cd %~dp0

cls
SRBMiner-CN.exe --config Config\config-xmr.txt --pools Pools\pools-xmr.txt

Config file is fairly standard,

{
"cryptonight_type" : "normalv4",
"intensity" : 0,
"double_threads" : true,
"persistent_memory" : false,
"gpu_conf" :
[
   {
     "id" : 0,
     "intensity" : 112,
     "worksize" : 16,
     "threads" : 2,
     "tweak_profile" : 2
   },
   {
     "id" : 1,
     "intensity" : 112,
     "worksize" : 16,
     "threads" : 2,
     "tweak_profile" : 2
   }
]

}

I recommend you to flash Vega 64 bios on your Vega 56s, so you will be able to get at least 1900 h/s per card in normal condition.

@doktor83, Hello, When will SRBminer support turtle's new algo "chukwa"   and loki's new algo "RandmXL"?

I haven't decided yet what to do with the randomx algo family - it will suck on AMD gpus. Chukwa isn't in my plans atm.
RandomX is the good news for CPU miners and bad news for GPU miners, specially for RX Vega Owners like me as i've heard that the hash rate will drop off around 50% for Rx Vega on this new algorithm, but they say they are doing some optimizations to make it more acceptable.
Let's wait and see what happens! Undecided

I've tested V1.9.1 on one of my Rigs with 6 RX VEGAs and it is stable after 1 day and a half of mining.
if it goes without any error for two or three days, then i will start to set it up on all of my Rigs.

Unfortunately, it didn't work, connecting to minergate.
Even connecting successfully with other pool, after this error:

 Error CL_MEM_OBJECT_ALLOCATION_FAILURE when calling clEnqueueNDRangeKernel for kernel 0 for DeviceID 0 (Thread 0)

it starts to crash everywhere, the application, the system, you name it... I tried several cleans setup, with all type of configs but without success.
Probably some incompatibility with these drivers version.

Is there someone that is mining successfully with Windows 10 and a Radeon VII?

This problem comes from your virtual memory options in windows
Radeon VII is a 16gb card so you need to set at least 16 GB of virtual memory in windows settings.
Right Click on This PC > Properties > in the left, select Advanced system settings > a window pop ups , in the advanced tab and Performance section select settings> go to advanced tab > change memory virtual settings > select Custom and type 16384 (16*1024) in the initial size (min) and something more in the max size , for example 17000, remember that its 16 gb for each card, if you have two cards you should type 32768 for min, and after that click on set ( don't forget this if you don't click on set button it will get back to the previous numbers) and then ok.
you are ready! lets start the SRB!

Hey, thx for the reply. I didn't OC, just undervolted, and even downclocked the core to lower the temps. Worked fine so far, till I installed the 1.9.0.

Also, it seems I cannot send you any messages. You can post here your OverdriveN settings, that's why this forum is for, anyways.

You can PM me now,
It was disabled by default to receive messages from other members!
What is your exact card's model? Rx Vega 64 Reference model?
Because the numbers changes card by card.

I'm already using that driver, and I always DDU before installing a new one.

Hey man
Your temperature is badly high and is dangerous for this type of card
Once i had a problem with cooling for couple of days so the temperature of my Vegas raised up to 65 degrees and more
I got many errors in SRB such as BUS ID COMPUTE Error, Low Difficulty Share and etc.
But with 50 and lower degrees there is not even 1 error.
Try to increase FAN RPM to 3300 and more
Also your overclock option is not good
Send me a PM, i will give you my numbers to use with OverdriveNtool
Bad overclocking causes high power usage, high temperature and will damage your cards
Try to use 18.6.1 Adrenalin driver, i think its the best compatible version with SRBMINER
Just try to keep them cool.
Here are my results without TWEAKING

Since the last night Stellite's network hash rate has raised up from 2 MH/s to 50 MH/s !!! 25 times
This change happened in less than 30 minutes (2.5 MH/s for Official Pool in 18:30 GMT to 20.02 MH/s in 18:51 - note that this is for official pool only)
Number of miners is decreasing hour by hour, and it seems that miners are stopping their miners because of this unusual spike in difficulty.
Is this an ASIC farm? does Stellite needs a new anti ASIC algorithm like Monero?
