Re: NEM - New Economy Movement - NEMstake Tokens Listed on NXT Asset Exchange

Why would the address for the NXT genesis block be involved in Asset Exchange NEMstakes manipulation?

It probably has to do with making money Smiley Next question is whether the activity is ethical according to the stated principals of NEM?

If I am not wrong the fees for placing buy/sell orders are sent to the genesis block.

I don't buy from anonymous developers who name themselves after a coin.  So Kora is out for me.

As well many coins have copied NEM's distribution model and failed to drum up interest.  NEM isn't some Communist or freebie coin.  NEM is an initiation to a new economic movement.
+1. Kora is not the first. NXT lite was the first copy of the distributional model. But i guess there are more to wide distribution. Where is aurora coin now if the success is to give the coins to many people as possible?

what difference does it make the alpha test to the NEM value price? its not a finish coin you can use anyway, I don't see what difference will it make

Are you kidding  Huh

did you see me laughing?

It will clear the scam accusation. If things go well, NEM open alpha is as good or better than most coins at launch.

Does anybody know which features can be tested in the alpha? Is it only send / receive (funds and messages)?
what about the Asset exchange? Also I am sure I saw on the first fundraising thread that there could be an auction based exchange? Is that still the case? I would really love to use that instead of ebay.

AFAIK The excact details on the auction aren't published yet.

Regarding the Alpha Version.
You'll be able to test POI (Proof of Importance), Encrypted message sending through transactions, Incomming and outgoing transactions, multiple adresses on a single account, Running your local node and see how the interactive client works Smiley

Didnt mean the stake auction after alpha. what I mean is a distributed auction based exchange. much like this

http://www.coindesk.com/openbazaar-bitcoin-build-decentralised-ebay/

this is why I ask (taken from first fund raising thread) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422129.0

"NEM ...could have following features

- Decentralized Marketplace / Auction - Buy or sell goods/services in a distributed manner.  All listings are broadcast to all nodes on the network in P2P fashion."

Maybe we can vote for the next feature after V1 blockchain ? everything is possible  Grin Cheesy

It's look NEMastic!!!

Enjoy NEM!

NEM OPEN ALPHA LAUNCH IS SCHEDULED FOR 25th JUNE 2014

Why such a big current balance.
There must be  1 ... 2.... million?
Or not?

This is closed Alpha testing. We're only testing it with about 20-30 people so everyone got very large amounts of NEM.

Love it. thank you.

Well there are issues with the POW Model regarding its effects on ecology and network security but if NEM sees a stronger adoption we will see its impacts with new nodes using up resources and some clever hackers might find security issues too.
Leads me to another question :
How is POS/POI not more centralized ? Give 156 Stakeholders a Stake for small money instead of giving people the chance to get them in a continous period ? Even if the stake to claim with PoW gets smaller over time isn't this a fairer approach even if you want to reward the risk takers ? I am sure there were more people grabbing a Stake in Bitcoin early than in NEM.

There are a few more stakeholders than that, the most conservative number is at least 1000 unique users i think (even with all the sock-puppet controversy). Read the population statistics. The theory is that after the initial distribution, new users can continuously come in via exchanges and multipool. It is actually very similar to POW cost-wise but without the waste energy.

There is one thing that i'm asking myself.

Why would we need NEM ?

It is absolutely blowing my mind , that there are people who think NEM will be their Bitcoin Rocketstart into wealth.

Why ? Because this time there a new people as Stakeholders ? Because the System is new , developed from the ground up and with another chance for catastrophic bugs or failures ? Is there really a need for another POS Coin ?

Baffles me and makes absolutely no sense in my mind...

(I'm also asking myself why we need NXT, but that is another story for another day.)

http://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2013/12/how-and-why-bitcoin-will-plummet-in-price.html

I disagree with this article , two points :

- Network strength , keeping the network secure is expensive , this is priced in.
- There are thousands of competitors now with better features, even trying to be fully anonymous. Do these free markets only work under the network effect or where are my cheap bitcoins ?

New algorithms like POS, POI could be promising in cutting down the cost for security. I am not a tech expert, but imo at this early stage it is biased to declare that only POW will work.

The key point is that "supply-side arbitrage has not worked its way through the value of Bitcoin". Bitcoin organizational model is a puzzle to solve well and it takes times for people to figure out the new decentralized organizational model.

Bitcoin will keep its hold on crypto world for a foreseeable future due to the network effect, specifically efforts from ecosystem players such as Coinbase, Bitpay, Gift etc. but I don't think it is impenetrable, even though  it take a lot of efforts and creativity though.

Technical wise, NEM could be a competitor to Bitcoin because:

1. an improvement in a core functionality: Proof of Importance instead of Proof of Work and traditional POS algorithm.
2. improvements in features: Bitcoin has been and always be very conservative when coming to new features. There are spaces open if users move beyond the simple currency functionality and want something else with blockchain.
3. Difference in design

I think you are very smart guy but many smart guys in tech do not fully grasp the dynamics of free market and competition. This article can help

http://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2013/12/how-and-why-bitcoin-will-plummet-in-price.html

in short, if you are bullish about Bitcoin (to the point of world domination), you should also very bullish about its genuine competitors like NEM.

Right Smiley. Someone buys 6 million cap valuation and has to split his account later on but he still does. That shows the investor's appreciation. Good sign.

For all those that are not able to able to comprehend my message, here it is again. Please, think twice about what I am trying to convey.

Just like that. Scam at its finest. Sorry for you, but this will stick to people's mind no matter what.

It is the same as the distribution of Nxt. It sticks.

Very different nature. Distribution problem is about facts, numbers and statistics. NxT had that problem. UF issue is UF problem not NEM. UF made a mistake. NEM has no mistake, perfect block chain. Money of the future.

Since when do people care about that? People need trust to join a project, to commit to a project. His conduct destroyed it for many people. It is human nature and has nothing to do with facts whatsoever.

No place to trust shady, anon people. Bcnext, UF? Same person? Likely with shady behavior. Trust in numbers, statistics, and block chain.

Beware don't let anon, shady nicknames manipulate you. Do research first.

It is the same as the distribution of Nxt. It sticks.

Everyone had the chance to make an account and sent money in the fund address. You sir had the chance too. You missed it because you was an idiot. The process was transparent and UF did what everyone could do. He had no power to prevent anyone making accounts and enrolled. He had 1 sock acc and no evidence of anything else. Name one person he scammed ?

UF was a PR manager. He was anon, shaddy but he did his job. The funding process are clear and open. The list was audited by the public for over a month and 300 acc were returned money. No one can kill a decentralized movement. Could civil right movement be killed if an accountant took some money away? In the end, the thing that counts is 3000 stakeholders and 1200 veteran bitcointalk accounts. That is a world better than NxT 73 account genesis block.

NEM had no value back in early 2014 - to create multiple socks required extreme foresight that it was going to be something special, when back then the initial plan was going to be a fork of NxT (NEM has since been independent code and a great development team).  As well it was foresight to assume there would had been no taint analysis (hundreds of socks were removed from the stakeholder, or never got on in the first place).

CFA has no socks in NEM.  Regardless, if he did, pocketing thousands is a very trivial amount considering there are many coins on here where initial investors often dump their share within weeks / months for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars (occasionally even million).

Congratulations you made thousands when other people, who don't brag, made $10K to $1 million off other coins.  NEM in my book seems to be very well distributed and egalitarian in that many people, if NEM does succeed, will be able to benefit it from it going global versus the exclusive (tiny) oligarchic communities of other crypto currencies.

the weight of ur argument blows me away.

considering number of sockpuppets FREE OF CHARGE i cashed in its outstandingly ridiculously funky.   the huge plus of NEM is that some poor souls are paying $1500 US DOLLAR per NEMstake on asset exchange NOW while others like me got a large chunk a' stakes 100% FREE of charge.   i made over $13500 with sockpuppets alone on asset exchange and i still hold several stakes. whatever is happen to nem itll enrich me. should 1 stake ever be worth $10000+ (and this is what U are hopin' TaunSew), ill have many more at hand than u have.

and this is what nem is about. NEM==ENRICHMENT PROCESS of the leadership and multi-stake holders like me. if u have only one stake i am seriously sorry for u. bow slave, next time have more account in ur hand buddy.

utopianfuture is financial genious. ill never forget the cold hard cash he put in my pockets. THANK U UTOPIANFUTURE! but I hate you because I have no more NEM.
