Simple Token is amazing. This is a massive opportunity for businesses. 9 companies singed on with 50+ in the works. Here's the greatest thing about that...those companies have to purchase ST to use them.  Given the demand this will see, 187mill supply is ridiculously low.

Keep in mind they stake their coin at a ratio to Simple Token.  So they can use one ST to create 10, 100 or 1000 of their personalized token (the ST team may have limits to the ratio but so far I haven't heard any).

But of course since having a valuable token is very important, companies are naturally motivated to keep their ratio as low as possible.

So, it WILL create demand on the token, but the supply is probably going to be ok.

People will be trading the branded tokens in for ST and spending them throughout the network, so companies will always have to buy more in order to keep value in their social media platforms.

So, I misspoke a little before.  Companies won't necessarily be holding, but from time to time they'll have to be refilling their supply.  I suppose companies will do both!

I can't believe this trhead get's so little attention here. This poject is basically what Wordpress did for websites but then for companies that want a token economy without having to hire a whole blockchain development team.

I completely agree.  It has so many amazing aspects to it as well.  e.g. companies that buy ST will all be holding long term- cranking up the price, etc.

In a way, I'm happy about it though.  I'd rather buy more at this price than at tomorrows. Smiley

Is Scotland embracing digital currency?
by
Trevor Lyman
on 23/09/2015, 16:14:29 UTC
The people of Scotland might soon have a new medium of exchange to use instead of the British Pound. No, we’re not talking an impending secession for the United Kingdom and the formation of a new state currency. The Scots could be on the verge of going crypto.

Back in 2014, ahead of the referendum vote for independence from the U.K, a Scotland-specific bitcoin knockoff called Scotcoin rose to prominence. The idea was to distribute the digital currency to all Scottish people, giving them an alternative ready to use if a “yes” vote were to be secured. Unfortunately, Scotland voted “no,” and while Scotcoin held stable for a while, it was migrated to the bitcoin blockchain as a digital asset late last year.

LOL, sorry but I would have to starve I would be forced to use bitcoin only and my fridge would be empty... No way to pay via BTC in my city, at least not in my neighborhood.
However, it was the same for credit cards 20 years ago so anything can happen in future  Tongue

ha!  Understood and you're right that anything is possible.  Did you join the Thunderclap?  It just takes a second. Wink

IntBtcDay Thunderclap set to reach 250K social users, but will it happen?

The IntBtcDay Thunderclap is set to reach 250K social users but still needs 12 more participants in order to trigger the event.

Thunderclap is a promotional tool that requires a minimum number of participants to engage in a social network promotion to activate the promotion.  IntBtcDay is now only 12 participants shy of it’s goal of 100 for April 7th, 10:00am.

You can join the Thunderclap here: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/24112-international-bitcoin-day

Participating is an easy process that takes less than 30 seconds.

International Bitcoin Day is a movement that asks everyone in the world to use bitcoin for a day.  For more information please visit http://IntBtcDay.com

If it's going to happen for sure, paying for a reddit ad probably wouldn't be a bad idea. In fact donation addresses could perhaps be made for things like that or a contest for media creators to make a video and win some bitcoin.

I like this for a video contest for sure.  I hope the Thunderclap helps bring in a lot more signups because I think we probably need more supporters before trying to raise any funds.

I think someone mentioned trying to trend at #1 on Twitter for the day and I really liked that idea.  What are some other charts we can try to be #1 for? or other social benchmarks we could shoot for?

Ha ha that is true. This could really take off with the likes of Ver backing it!

Oops I bumped one of the famous bitcoiners off the Thunderous Supporters list. Was not my intention.

That's great!  Thanks for supporting this! Cheesy

We're at 43 supporters on the Thunderclap now.

Would it be something like May 1? No work that day?

I liked the Jan 3rd suggestion so far.  The reason behind it seemed like the strongest I've heard so far.

I think the hole point of this is that we don't need all 7 + billion on planet earth to get involved at once we just need to raise awareness internationally to the level that we have all done our bit to raise bitcoin to many more users, then the next time one of these projects start up we will have that extra few people to help in the efforts who will show more people what this awesome technology is about and then again and again. By the time it builds some more people around the world may have developed enough tech to have the devices to also join in. We all join together then anything is possible if we all just sit around hoping for it and leaving it to someone else it will never happen. Count me in op well done..

Yes!  I'm not actually worried about having every single person in the world use Bitcoin.  That would be great, but if a person doesn't have a computer or access, then there isn't much we can do about that.  But the idea is that it gives people a reason to give Bitcoin a try.  It's really just a publicity campaign that gives people an excuse to give Bitcoin a try.

After the event, there should be more people with Bitcoins than there were before, hopefully millions more, but even a few thousand more would be a good thing.
