Maybe this question has already been asked and if so I apologize in advance for asking it again. I did thumb through this thread and could not find anyone who asked but of coarse there's a lot to this thread.

To the DEV team: When the hard fork is done for DOGE will the Scrypt mining Merge Mine DOGE and LTC when switching to LTC?

I have a "Network Alert" coming from my Vericoin wallet. Does anybody know what it means? Anything to worry about?

It's just a reminder for those who didn't update, nothing to worry about.

What version should we be on??? 1.3.3 right???

Does CoinBase and or BitPay handle the British Pound?Huh

I think the reason is both legal and the ability to convert the currency to the company's country fiat. Make no mistake these companies accepting BTC are not holding BTC.

Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Blade (80 Chip) Miner Support/Tuning

Here is the compiled cgminer for Raspberry Pi that supports Gridseed: http://0c31ac7857e819701732-7c102875f448c5383a11c1d07426cb3e.r86.cf1.rackcdn.com/cgminer

Here is the source: https://github.com/jmordica/cgminer-gc3355

chips=40 for blade and chips=5 for 5-chip.

jmordica,

Thanks for this. I love it verses cpuminer. I only have one problem. I can get my full advertised hash rate for a good 4-6 hours and then my HW rate increases and my hash rate drops by almost half.

Is there something I'm doing wrong???

I would not make any assumptions trillion, just because you have not had an issue yet does not mean that he instantly has no legit claim on this issue, wait and see, if we get more info we will know what is really going on,

I would check your email for a confirmation email that you have to click a link in, to finish the extraction of your coins, that is what happened to me on coins that would not go through, and once I found that and clicked it BOOM payout Smiley

Maybe I've read his post wrong but the original complainer is claiming that Crypsy is ripping us all off. Am I reading his complaint wrong???

Now when I said I have no issues with Crypsy and that my Multi-pools don't either I mean I have none out of the norm. I expect sites to have bugs and that's why most of the legit sites like Crypsy have a Support Icon. Sure I have had the occasional withdraw, deposit, and trade issue on Crypsy all of which where quickly resolved using their Support Page. Bottom line really no issue.

I'm not trying to discredit this guy's complaint. He probably has a withdraw issue or maybe he just does not know what he's doing. Who knows but calling the police and posting that we all have been duped by Crypsy there's no wonder they banned him if they did at all.

Crypsy is a fairly new and growing site. Expect delays and bugs but from my experience with Crypsy any issues I have had where resolved in a timely manner which means there where no issues IMO.

Re: Alternative to GHASH.IO/CEX.IO for Cloud Mining ?
by
TrillionBTC
on 18/06/2014, 23:36:58 UTC
hmmm... The cloud hosted hashing, if sold, would still be hashing with CEX.IO/GHASH.IO. Selling it would not solve or help this so called 51% attack issue. Now if you owned your own equipment, which you clearly indicated you don't, moving it to another pool would reduce GHASH.IO's pool speed. Selling your cloud hosted service does nothing to prevent this 51% attack everyone is worried about.

So with this being said, I could care less what you do, why don't you keep you cloud service there???  Undecided

IMO it does not matter on the Socialism/Capitalism debate. A wise man once said the Poor will always be among us. Either way Government does not have the answers and I rather not give up my freedoms. Any society that gives people the freedoms and rights to choose their own fate is the way to go.

So many people know so much about manufacturing ASICs I'm surprised they haven't started their own company.

I have to agree with this guy. sgbett you're right on man. Additionally BFL never indicated an exact delivery date on their pre-ordered products. In fact their site CLEARLY discourages anyone from placing a pre-order with them.

Here's their exact statement on pre-ordered products strait from their website:

Shipping Schedule
This is a Pre-Order product which is not yet shipping.  If you're uncomfortable waiting until the development is complete and the product is shipped, do NOT pre-order this product. Perhaps undesirable, but this is a pre-order market.  Customers flatly demand to get in line for the new technology before it's finished development.  This has created a lot of drama for the manufacturers but it's something we simply have to deal with.  All manufacturers in this space have experienced some degree of delay with their first generation ASIC.  Every last one of them, so we're reluctant to give a specific delivery date.

One last thing. Inrideo... BFL has always been in Kansas. Where did you get Wyoming? No wonder you're upset you obviously can not read.

Re: Cex.io and Their MAITANANCE They are THEFTS!!
by

Oh WOW!!!!!! You're one of these guys. Standard Troll,

Why Don't you post the instances when CEX.IO submits multiple blocks in a row and you pay absolutely no maintenance fee as a result. You won't because that just does not fit your agenda here trolling.

CEX.IO charges their maintenance fees on a PPS plan. Although I'd like to see them restructure these fees too. I have to agree with their support staff on this when the say that their PPS plan is a fair way to charge these fees.

Here's why: You can buy and sell their cloud hosting service at anytime. Buy 1 GHS now and sell it a minute later. So on the PPS plan they're charging you based on how many shares your GHS submitting in that minute. They want $0.26 per GHS per month in BTC of coarse and they know roughly how many shares 1 GHS submits in a month and breaks that down in a BTC fraction price per share for you. If they charge you $0.26 for their fees when you bought the GHS and you sold it a minute later how's that fair?

With this site averaging 60-80 blocks a day you need to take the good with the bad. Sometimes it takes longer to submits some blocks than others and they charge the fees at block submission so you typically don't have to pay them up front for the fees.

If you think this is unjust sell off your GHS and I will buy them from you. I believe this is one of the best platforms for cloud hosting out there and it's getting better.

Re: Is Mining Scrypt and Converting to BTC cheaper?
by
TrillionBTC
on 23/05/2014, 04:29:57 UTC
Oh sorry Micky,

To answer your first question Yes. Mining Scrypt is cheaper right now because the ASICs are cheaper and more importantly ready to be shipped right now. You'll want to use a MultiPool and have it Auto Convert until you can build up a good hash rate though. Getting fractions of coins and exchanging them yourself, although may gain you more BTC, simply takes too long to do and the fees for doing so gets you. At least that's been my experience.

Hello Micky,

This is a subject that my wife and I just discussed. If you're going to enter Scrypt mining you might want to consider Scrypt ASICs. Gridseeds mine at 350KH each and I've found them on sites under $90 USD New. Found Gridseed Blades for under $800 New that mine at 5.2MH.

Now if you're going to mine a single Scrypt Coin it should be LiteCoin or DogeCoin IMO. Although I have seen posts saying DogeCoin is loosing some value. I personally prefer allowing a good multi pool do the work of mining the most profitable coins and Auto Converting them for me.

Currently I use WafflePool as they've been the most profitable for me. I've received 1 BTC in 14 days with 18MH.

I've been keeping my eyes on CEX.IO as they currently have a Multi Pool but they need to get their Hash Rates up and stop trying to mine LTC 50% of the time with little to no luck solving LTC Blocks. They obviously have some bugs to work out. This being said there are rumors they'll be purchasing Scrypt ASICs and adding a Cloud Hosting service for Scrypt Mining. If they do the hash rate there should no longer be an issue. This is why I keep an eye on their pool and also mine with 1 Graphics Card at 320KH there.

There's more Multi Pools out there you just need to watch them and see what their luck is solving blocks and how long they spend trying to solve blocks with no luck.

Waffle Pool is my personal favorite.

I've tried other pool's and really like the format of most of them. This one has less of a format but the payouts are much better than other multi pools I've used. I'll sacrifice having a better site layout for better profits any day. It's obvious the DEV here spend more time getting profitable coins which is what we are all looking for anyway.

Thanks for doing a great job here guys.

I like the site because it's strait to the point with the main information I need anyways which is: How much am I making? Roll Eyes

I hate to see these stories because I believe in the value of BTC. Not only as a currency but an investment too. I would be loosing a lot of sleep if I had bought BTC in Nov 2013 at $1200 each too especially now. At this point I would have to agree with your strategy of hold for now and wait for the price to go up. AND STOP BUYING THESE ALT COINS.

I have found better ways to invest my BTC rather than the hold strategy but unfortunately for you, at the price you paid, none of them would work for you  Huh

Yeah I have a great idea for this.... SELL THEM ON CEX.IO

Since CEX.IO is the only place they can be used the buyers of your GHS would have to login to this site. Once they do they'll see you ripped them off.

Thinking of this subject, I'm no bankruptcy expert of coarse, would the account holders be creditors? After all they did not actually lend the BTC they deposited it.

When banks go bankrupted in the U.S. the account holders do loose their funds but that is why we have FDIC Insurance in the U.S and regulations.

Sorry guys this is why the Governments warn against BTC because it's not regulated, which is of coarse why we all love it, but these Government and Banking Agencies are and will use this as a reason to try to slap down some regulations on BTC. We are not going to get any sympathy from them as a result.

Now I think, again I'm no expert, if they do consider the Depositors Creditors and it works like the U.S. each and every Depositor will receive letters from the Bankruptcy Trustee asking you to submit a claim on what you think you're owed and if you do not respond you get nothing. Simply dividing the BTC up between account holders is not a viable way of handling the situation because it wouldn't be far if the guy who deposited 10 BTC gets paid in full and the guy who deposited 10,000 BTC gets a partial payout.

This being said the other question is does the Japanese Government even consider BTC property or a currency? If they don't then we are all SOL. If they do the funds will go to secured creditors first, unsecured creditors second, and again I don't think a depositor is considered a creditor at all but they'd be dead last.

Bottom line is I don't think any of us are going to have any rights to that found BTC IMO.  Undecided

Getting More BTC with GPUs!!!!
by
TrillionBTC
on 13/04/2014, 15:19:36 UTC
I started Mining BTC late last year discovering Bitcoin after several rides home from work with my wife and her asking me if I ever heard of Bitcoin. I finally got around to looking into it and discovered the mining process. Bought my first GPU in my life just so I can try it out. After several days of looking researching forums and pools I finally got my NVIDIA GTX770 mining with BTCGuild at around 0.011 GH. I was then hooked and disappointed at the same time.

I was hooked because I now have my computer on and it's creating these new digital numbers but more importantly I have a new hobby that my wife and I share together. I was disappointed because after a lot more research I discovered that 2013 was called "The Year of The ASIC Revolution". Simply put I was a day late and a Dollar short. That's when I looked into ASICs for BTC mining and discovered high prices and Pre-Orders. I did buy some ASICs this year in January and I'm still patiently waiting for them. This is when I did a lot more research looking for ways to get more BTC faster. I purchased an Erupter which does or use to do 0.313 GH, played around with BTC faucets, and researched Cloud hosting. Did them all. Of coarse by this time I had turned off my GPU and gave away my only Erupter to a family member who's also interested in BTC Mining. He's been hashing away for months now and has not got enough for the minimum for his pool to pay out yet he's hooked and happy with the BTC mining he's doing. More power to him.

One day I was thinking of pulling my GPU out and selling it but when I logged into my BTCGuild account there was a new news alert. I click on it and BTCGuild was starting a Scrypt mining Multi Pool. Just in time. I got my invite to the new pool's Alpha page and started that GPU right up again. Now I do have to say that this pool's Alpha Stage sucked bad as we had to switched between coins for it by pointing to a different server when the pool recommended it just to stay with the pool. But now that they're in Beta, coin switching is Automatic, and so is exchanging to BTC if you choose.

I have not made so much Bitcoin 'til now. The pool is called Scryptguild.

www.scryptguild.com

Within a few short months I purchased 3 more GPUs to mine on this pool, purchased a 20 pack of Scrypt ASICs (Gridseeds), Purchased a 2nd set of 20 Scrypt ASICs, and thinking about getting another 20 Scrypt ASICs all with the BTC I've been earning on Scryptguild.

I've tried single pools for Scrypt mining and just could not achieve the amount of BTC I'm getting now putting Scrypt Coins on Exchanges myself. Additionally I've Beta tested the new GHash Multipool and even now that they're out of Beta I can not achieve the same results. I found Scryptguild to be the best as I'm getting my full advertised hash rate from my equipment with little to no stale shares mining with them and the Auto Switching is priceless.

Dust off your GPUs and give them a try.

We not only have the lights off in the mining room we have over 30 hamsters running in their wheels that are connected to hand crank electric generators producing electricity for the miners. Hey I feed and clean up after those hamsters so the least they can do is help provide for the household.

Additionally my wife and I know that our city uses an electric pump to deliver the water to our home so to conserve electricity and water we take showers together in the dark.  Grin

I use coinbase regularly and trust them with my transactions as they've never failed me. Good luck with your so called law suit troll.
