Hello,

I have a fully synced and working download of the blockchain on an external hard drive and just want to move it all to a brand new external hard drive (as the old one has started making a click click death is imminent noise!). I thought it would be super simple bit am having problems.

I copied the whole bitcoin folder (containing blocks, chainstate etc) to the new external hard drive, started up BitcoinCore and pointed it at the new directory. I expected it to carry on as normal but it is trying to sync the whole blockchain again.

Why is it trying to sync all over again. Have i done something wrong. Am i bad person.

I have a garbage laptop and it took about 2 weeks of it being on 24 hours a day to sync last time, please dont make me do that again...

I just had the same error message and fixed it by deleting the .asc from the end of the downloaded signature filename - so it was just "electrum-3.3.8-setup.exe". As it shows it to be in this tutorial - https://bitcoinelectrum.com/how-to-verify-your-electrum-download/

Re: [ANN][SEM] Semux - Official Thread - 🚀 BTC Airdrop Now 🚀

Hey guys,
I get that to claim the airdrop you need to sign your Semux address with your Bitcoin wallet.
But how do the Semux team then know your Bitcoin address in order to check your balance?

Basically is it possible to derive the public address if you know the message that was signed and the signed message itself?
Can anyone point me in a direction where i can read more on this as Google isnt really bringing anything up?

Cheers

Hey Guys, can anyone explain to me how the "staking" within the wallet works.
I cant seem to find anything that explains what it is & what it does.

Cheers
