Re: Jamie Dimon-JP Morgan CEO "Satoshi will come back and erase bitcoin"
by
Twinkledoe
on 30/01/2024, 03:28:41 UTC
This is quite so funny to be listening to man named Jamie Dimon pretending to be an expert with something he does not fully understand. Just because he is a well-known and talkative CEO does not give him the front row knowledge on Bitcoin and in extension he does not know Satoshi Nakamoto and his whereabouts, in the first place. He is just essentially spreading non-sense as usual and the media is taking his words for the sake of eyeballs or traffic. For all we know, Jamie Dimon actually some hoard of Bitcoin somewhere because he is greedy too...and maybe he is planning to buy more at a lower price that is why the FUD.

I would say what he's saying is all crap. Don't believe what he is saying, feeling important in this market. But just the same with other users, don't know what's gonna happen next. We are all just speculating and so it depends on how are you gonna act to take advantage of this opportunity. Better follow your instincts rather than listen to someone who feels he is the expert on this matter.

Re: Why Do People Steal Hundreds of Millions in BTC And Still Get Caught?
by
Twinkledoe
on 29/01/2024, 23:31:34 UTC
Stealing big bucks might seem like a quick ticket to a carefree life but it's not all it's cracked up to be. When you're sitting on a pile of cash, finding a safe spot to enjoy it becomes a real headache. Authorities around the globe are pretty good at playing hide-and-seek and with limited hiding place  it's tough to stay under the radar. Even if you dream of a tropical escape, the reality is more like a high-stakes game of cat and mouse and the odds aren't in favor of the thief

If you know how to lay low and manage your money not to be detected by authorities, you can really have a life that you want. But of course, it entails a detailed planning and be very cautious with whom you are dealing with. Because people have the tendency to report something if they feel they can get something out of it.

On the other hand, stealing is not really an admirable act. Would be hard to live a life always looking out over your shoulder? Would it be better to have peace of mind even if you live not in luxury?

Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling
by

on 27/01/2024, 21:42:26 UTC
How could a father abandon his child at home while he went to the casino to play and hope to win, this is obviously really sad to hear the news. Undecided

But fortunately there are neighbors who care about them try if it is left without anyone knowing how the 2-year-old child is at home, then I say a father is so heartless just for the sake of the game he wants even though he has won $2000.

I will not be a father like this because it's too bad to hear, never neglect your family especially for the sake of gambling.

That story I can say is unreal! But unfortunately, it is! That father was not in right mind leaving his 2 kids for the sake of gambling. Given that he won, can this money replace his kids if something bad happened? Great that he has a neighbor, interrupting bad possibility to happen. This is why gambling is being tagged as negative in the community because of this bad example.  Roll Eyes

Re: Are newbies afraid to comment on threads of highly ranked members?

IMO...users with high ranks also understand that a newbie must be given the opportunity to show his best. We can realize that not everyone has the same knowledge, so sometimes special newbie trigger topics are needed to be able to learn here starting from light things. Sometimes they are confused about the starting point of which stage should be done first.

For me, everyone has their own qualities and we should not belittle him with any bad words. Maybe there are experts in other fields, but want to learn bitcoin. I think this will foster a sense of empathy from members with high ranks as long as a newbie must be able to maintain a polite attitude and behavior in discussing this forum.

If you don't know, ask to others. If you are still in doubt, strengthen your argument with something else. If you are sure, share it with others here.  Smiley

What the OP can do is just continue to share what he think is a good information. And be open also to criticisms, don't lose your confidence if someone say something to you. Weigh what has been said, and think logically. Admit if you mistakenly say something, but don't be too aggressive pointing out that you are right. You can't win a discussion if the other person is a close minded one.

I guess, just do what you think is right, don't get too scared involving yourself in discussions. Share your opinion and be open to other opinions. Respect is all we need, right?

Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert?
by
Twinkledoe
on 21/01/2024, 19:26:31 UTC
Simply put, it is impossible to become an expert on Bitcoin. Because we talk speculatively about Bitcoin. It's not just us common people who invest small amounts in Bitcoin. There are many institutional investments and there are many large whales. They can change the price of Bitcoin anytime they want. Therefore, it is not possible to predict the future value of Bitcoin, only speculation.

Most are just self-proclaimed experts. Because even long-timers in this market are only speculating, it means, they also don't know the exact price of btc for those speculated times. They are also basing their predictions from past history, market progress, adoption among other things. So no one can claim that they know what's gonna happen in this market few months down the lane.

Because if someone will claim he knows what's gonna happen, then he is just a hypocrite person as  no one has the crystal ball to know the future of this market. So basically anyone is just a speculator, predictor or whatever you call them.

Re: Will FTT token everly hit it ATH again?
by
Twinkledoe
on 18/01/2024, 12:10:01 UTC
I always try to keep tokens from new projects, but experience shows that they need to be drained immediately when the project is launched, unfortunately
I find that probably the safest way possible you can make profit from newly launched projects is to acquire tokens in the form of airdrops but of course you have to make sure that you would only get airdrops from those that seems legit aka those who do not require you to send them money

Some tasks are okay but other than that you might want to double check the project after you have acquired the token and let us say it gets value then you should be on your toes and immediately take them out you would not want to be stuck after everyone has pulled out their investment

It is fine if you will get free tokens from airdrops. But if you will pay for it or need to send some money just to get it, better think twice because more than likely, you are just wasting your time and resources. Based from my experience before, very few can really make it to the trading market. Also, most are being abandoned once they got a hold of their funds.

Though, I don't know now how airdrops are being handled. Are there really worthwhile airdrops to keep tab on?

The best thing to do would be to learn how the lottery business works. Im not saying that he should change his morals but practiaclly speaking, he needs money. He should also study why there is no lottery on their place yet and verify it. To go with the offer would be the best option but if he has something in mind like other business where he doesnt have to “sacrifice” morals. He can consider it too.

Lottery business most of the time becomes a lucrative business, so if he wants a good passive income, he can accept this type of business. Because no matter what, these gamblers will find a place to put their bets. Remember, there are so many online businesses now. So why not just grab the opportunity while it is still profitable?

Re: CZ's view on Halving
by
Twinkledoe
on 15/10/2023, 22:27:25 UTC
CZ got his points, but that's not unique, it's based on the history of how market reacts to halving, and many people said the same. Tho with the current economic condition and people have more experience on the effect of halving and how Bitcoin market react to it, I doubt people will are still hoping that Bitcoin will double the price immediately after halving, most of Bitcoin speculators should already learn that Bitcoin halving effect on the market is not instant. And the thus could also make the time frame when Bitcoin will reach new ATH after the halving, probably longer than just a year.

He is also playing safe with his pieces of advice to people. Because he is one of the popular personalities to whom people looked up to in this market, he's being conservative with his views. But those simple statements are actually valuable if you internalize its importance when it comes to your decisions with what you will do with your porftolio.

would you prefer to gamble in a casino and make some money or learn about futures trading and make some money?
Hehe... How does these even rhyme together?...
Gambling could possibly replicate few bucks in two measures and that's quite enticing!! Addiction sometimes makes the whole strain impossible to refrain. Secondly, anyone that's got a huge interest in games and soccer wouldn't wanna trade, cus it's impossible to trade games, is it?..
Quote
Which one do you actually find to be more easier and I believe that futures trading is also capable of giving someone life-changing money but which one do you believe is less risky than the other?
Your comparison is lame, honestly!

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

At the end of the day, it depends on the person which one he will venture into, and put his hard-earned money into. But for me, if I have the time and resources, I will study futures, as the chance of getting your profits is better. Gambling will always be gambling. Treat this as a losing activity because it is.
But when you explore futures, you should know that this is a high risk investment, better learn the market well, or else get liquidated fast.

Re: Chasing looses Vs Finding closure: Any difference?
by
Twinkledoe
on 29/03/2023, 23:37:42 UTC
I really need a clarification on this. Is chasing looses in gambling same as looking for closure because i recently read an article on reddit where the poster said that he will gamble untill he wins just to look for closure. I have been thinking about this for sometime now because closure has the same characteristics with chasing looses which is even when the gambler is loosing he will still be gambling just to recover all his looses.

I actually call this the "gambler's cycle" where a person would gamble again in order to regain his losses.

When a person gambles and regardless of the outcome whether he wins or losses, the initial decision is for him/her to gamble again. He/she would want to gamble again in order to test his luck in the event if he wins. Furthermore, he would also attempt to gamble again if he losses in hopes of recovering the loss he just incurred, thereby creating a situation and an endless cycle where he would consistently gamble in the process.

This kind of cycle is potentially destructive and dangerous especially if you lack the necessary discipline to accept your losses as part of the gambling system. That is why if this happens, the person has to force himself to get out of such position (e.g. limiting the cash he brings, etc.) to break this cycle.

I can say, we are all guilty of such feeling at one point. But it is right that if you can't contain yourself, you will lose in the process. You'll be in big trouble if you will continue chasin losses. If you are still into gambling, I don't think you can find closure with what you lost. That's a never-ending cycle if you want to keep up such kind of mindset.

Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds!
by
Twinkledoe
on 29/01/2023, 08:54:27 UTC
The problem is such look like a safe bet when in fact not... I have seen people lose on a 1.005 odd bet which looked like a sure bet but turned out to be a high risk bet that will lead to losing and the unfortunate thing about such wagers is that a player needs to put in alot of money to have a small profit but in the end its all burst! Btw I think bookies actually make more money on such bets because of our greed, it's a hard lesson learnt and can never be too sure of an outcome.
Permit me to say that anyone could lose a bet no matter how promising the bet looks, which is why we have to be careful and be managerial in our wagering. Like the story of this gambler, it's obvious that the guy is only a gambler, the managerial aspect is not there. The $1.4 million is big money that would have been able to sustain his betting for the rest of his life but was just wasted in such a manner.

The odd of 1.008 does not imply riskless betting with certainty, so such should have thought it twice and spread the risk on games with lower odds because they have a higher probability of winning. Selecting 10 independent games would have been a good bargain.

Some gamblers are taking the risk of betting tons of money with low odds as they believe their chance of winning is like almost 100%. But sad to say, upsets always do happen in any sports. Even if we say, this team or athlete is high likely to win, but you can never be sure up until the game is over. That gambler who betted $1.4M thought that there's no chance that he will lose, but unfortunately, he lost.

Re: Bitcoin might reach $30,000 in the first half of 2023 and $50,000 in the second
by
Twinkledoe
on 29/01/2023, 08:02:43 UTC
Nah, it's too early to predict this kind of price scenario, of course who would not want the price to increase at $30k -$50k? But it's not easy as that, yeah could be the miners difficulty and how they are as the price goes, maybe just breaking even or just making enough profit to cover the cost and not sell their own stash.

But we have to think about the black swan events like last year, the Terra case and then the whole FTX debacle.

There could be events like that this year, we may never know. And if we did then it will have a huge impact in the market.
For 50k to be possible before the halving even takes place then every single circumstance we can imagine will have to go in favor of bitcoin, and even then it is difficult to think such a positive year could come out of nowhere when 2022 was such a difficult year.

30k or even 35k are way more realistic at the end of the year, as by that time investors will increase the rate at which they are accumulating bitcoin as a preparation for the upcoming halving, this will rise the demand and the price along with it.

Well, if nothing else. Just for good vibes, right? Everyone can give their own prediction so you can very well give yours also. Now, the difference is how you react on this speculation. Are you going to buy more satoshis or just observe for the time being. In this market, we have seen that anything is possible depending on the news surrounding this market.

Re: 14 years ago today, the first Bitcoin was mined.
by
Twinkledoe
on 03/01/2023, 20:12:26 UTC
Millions of blocks have been mined into the blockchain by bitcoin miners since the currency's creation.

This is not true at all. As of the moment that I'm writing this post, there have only been 770222 blocks mined into the bitcoin blockchain since the currency's creation.

centralized fiat money, which is also decentralized.

Not only is this not true, but you contradict yourself by both calling it centralized fiat money and then immediately saying it is decentralized.  Fiat money is NOT decentralized.

History indicates that the first block was mined almost instantly because it had a difficulty of 1.

This is not true. Even at a difficulty of 1 it likely took a while for the first block to be mined on a CPU. It was certainly not "instantly".

According to experts, the last bitcoins will be mined by 2140.

This is a bit misleading. It's impossible to predict the exact date (or even the exact year) that the last fraction of new bitcoin will be mined at this point. There's too much variability and too much time.  It will be somewhere around 2140 approximately, but it could be anywhere in a range of many months (or even a few years).  It is entirely possible that it could be a year or two earlier, or a year or two later.

We still have a long way to go before we can completely mine the entire bitcoin blockchain.

No. There is no "entire blockchain".  New blocks can always be created, forever (or at least for as long as people want to continue to use bitcoin and create blocks).

I like how you gave your point-by-point response on OP's post. Maybe, it will give him clarification on some matters towards bitcoin. But in any case, 2140 or earlier, it is only suggesting that most of us will not be here on Earth anymore when that happens. So wonder if btc will really live that long or will there be new technology that will arise and replace btc? Who knows?

This is just a phase of Bitcoins, and it’s pretty normal to be honest. OP are you serious that you aren’t familiar with the trend that is going on? It’s basically just a bear run, which often comes. I mean it won’t be always that Bitcoins will climb up the prices. Rather than worrying about the price, it’s the golden opportunity to grab the Bitcoins in this low price. Don’t panic and buy as many coins as you can in this bear market.

I'm not new in crypto
Just interested in other peoples opinions and have a fear that the government may strangle the entire crypto industry Embarrassed

I guess you already know by now the reason of this recent drop. For me, the major contributor was this FTX failure, and binance bailing out as they couldn't handle the mess FTX is in right now. There will always a reason why we will always have this up and down movement. And the government regulations towards crypto will for sure be a part of it. But I don't think the government can have total control on crypto market, because they can't.

Re: What is your opinion on casinos that don't have ANN threads in the forum?
by
Twinkledoe
on 13/11/2022, 22:19:45 UTC
A crypto casino /or a gambling site must have an official presence here on the forum.
it is a way to advertise and also a way to collect feedback from users.
Especially for platforms of a certain size I think this is an essential step. Personally I avoid any site with no presence here on forum...
Having an official thread is one big important step that a gambling casino must have. Although it’s not compulsory, but it’s the only way that the players will be more comfortable to play and will never be worried if there are sudden problems that will arise, because they have high hopes that it will be easily resolved through the help of the people active in the ANN thread. The reason why most of the reputable casinos never fail to create an official thread of their own.

It is right in my case, I prefer to play on casinos that have active presence in the forum. Maybe, because I am a forum user, so I know what factors I need to check before sending any deposit to a casino. But some casinos are actively promoting outside the forum, hence, some newcomers are playing on them without knowing their reputation in this forum.

It depends. I would probably ask him to pay me the money that he robbed from me. If things didn't went well according to my will (which is getting it) and his approach to me is not appropriate, I would get upset and chance is I will sue him.

Anyways, is this a true story? Where did you got it?

But how can you sue him in this case? You have no papers or other hard evidence showing you gave him money for the bet? I don't know the law on this aspect but a lawyer maybe can find a way how to get your share. Since he already ran away, it means, he has no intention of sharing the winnings to you. Better consult a lawyer how to proceed a case because they may have ideas on how to get your share from him.

All the casinos recommended in the replies above are reputable casinos. There is no such thing as a completely safe online website, be it a casino, exchange, wallet..
Take your time to read the announcement threads on this section then make up your own mind. You are the only one who can tell which is the best casino based on your own preferences.

Also, he always need to read at least the terms and conditions of the site because sometimes they vary from one another. Some complaints originate not because of the casino but the player's fault. So aside from checking the reputation of the casino, make sure you are also complying with the terms of the site to avoid possible setback later on. In this forum, you can already find several trusted casinos that won't screw you up, even with thousands or millions of dollars.

Actually, we really care about our customers, so we are providing support directly on our platform, by email (support@futuur.com), and now on Discord too
The Qatar World Cup is scheduled to take place on November 20 until the final in December, isn't it, it's too soon to place a bet on the futuur.com site, it seems to determine the winner of Group A, B, C to H, The top 16 or teams competing in the 2022 World Cup, in my opinion, it takes calculation and analysis from the first round to the final to be able to place bets on the futuur.com web or bet on world cup football in Qatar going forward.

After all, there are currently many online gambling sites that offer sports betting features, especially this year's Qatar World Cup betting.
• So what are the advantages and differences of placing bets on futuur.com with other sports betting sites, especially in this forum.
• Bet $10 on winning score, how much you pay on futuur.com.
• What is the minimum deposit at futuur.com and what is the minimum withdrawal amount at futuur.com.
• One more thing, what is the meaning of the statement below.
Quote
Futuur is a prediction market where you can trade on future events and help create better forecasts for everyone!
who, guarantees people can win in predictions.

Maybe, there is no minimum deposit but they have minimum withdrawal and you can see it on the site itself, once you add funds, at the bottom you can see the corresponding withdrawal fees also as seen below example -

And certainly, no one can guarantee to win with their predictions. You just have a hunch on this. From what I remember before, you can sell your bet if you decide to but don't know how this works.

Re: Bangladesh has blocked 331 online casinos
by
Twinkledoe
on 13/10/2022, 21:44:32 UTC
Don't be surprised and the government will always use that excuse and it's also commonly used by countries that block online gambling sites.
My guess is actually not money laundering that is their focus but their inability to collect taxes from online gambling activities the reason behind this blocking.
Which usually happens when the government does not benefit from the activities carried out by its people, the steps taken are prohibiting, blocking and so on.
Maybe you are right that they are only using the ban as an excuse to hide the shady things that they do. They think some people are going to be happy once they ban gambling because those people are also anti with it. They think gambling is bad and it destroys lives but we aren't agreeing with that. Only the responsible gamblers will understand what is the true benefits of gambling.

Online gambling especially non crypto are regulated so they can be able to get tax from it unless if they don't want it anymore because their economy are doing well already. The move isn't about money laundering because laundering can happen on many ways, exchanges for instance but they didn't say that they banned it.

High likely it is owed to the fact that they don't have the control over those sites and so they can't tax those casinos accordingly. But if those sites are regulated under their government, I believe they won't have any problem. But these gamblers will always find a way how to gamble and find new casinos to play with. We are in the digital age where you can bypass the government's banning protocols.

The short term pump means nothing for us. The price of shiba is dumping back again. people are not feeling good with latest game launched by shiba, they expect even more than it. They are feeling disappointed with the result from game that already promised to be a good game.
I know that if you are holders of shiba inu. There will be no break out in short term. The opposite thing may come .

Maybe, the team is just thinking of providing something to the community to continue the hype in shib. But developing a really cool game and that would spend some of their resources is not really their goal here. We will know later on if they can sustain their enthusiasm to build a worthwhile project and not just here because of the hype surrounding it. People should still be cautious touching this token.
