A crypto or bitcoin debit card makes paying for things physically or online with bitcoin more appealing and encouraging, but unfortunately, I am yet to get hold of any of the debit cards I applied for, maybe as soon as I get hold of a bitcoin debit card, I will spend bitcoin more often on items I buy from day to day..

And i like the fact you talked about not touching our saved bitcoin, this is very important, as we all encourage ourselves to spend bitcoin by using it as payment for goods and services, lets also encourage ourselves as well to save up on bitcoin for our dear future and the future of our generation coming, it will be a grave mistake to own some bitcoin today but end up spending it all on payment for goods and services even before true adoption begins to happen.

What is so difficult about getting a debit card that you can load it with Bitcoin? There are plenty of providers that even do that anonymously and you can connect the car to Google or Apple Pay, pretty much use it every day without the merchant even knowing about it

It is not about Bitcoin. It is desperation. It is simply about stealing what others have. He is not a fan of Bitcoin that is why he did that. He is simply a criminal.

If you want Bitcoin, work for it. Make a place for savings in your regular salary and use it to buy Bitcoin. Accumulate slowly through DCA. Little but little, you can grow your Bitcoin portfolio.

You can reduce your unnecessary spending also like smoke, alcohol, and other vices or costly leisure activities like travels, parties, etc. You can use them to stack Bitcoin instead.
I agree, such a nutcase would also do it if it wasn't regarding a Bitcoin wallet. Such people don't want to work for anything, they just desire what others have and are hateful towards someone else's success. Torturing someone and demanding their money is something only a mentally challenged criminal would do. Okay, if we suppose that he got the money then what? Did he really have the belief that he wouldn't get caught? You need to be extremely naive to think that such a horrid crime would go unpunished.

Did it ever cross your mind that he probably planned on killing him in the end? I don't think he's that stupid to take his picture with a gun pointed to his head while he's smoking crack and print it on a t-shirt if he didn't definitely plan on executing him in the end.

I use it every day, and I live in Spain; you just got to find a crypto card provider and then deposit load your card with Bitcoin. You pay everywhere you want, buy things online, connect it to Apple Pay even, and spend it in restaurants, supermarkets, or whatever you need. I have used plasbit euro virtual card for years and I have been practically off the grid since 2020. It's 2024 bro, you can live on Bitcoin and nobody will even know..

I said: (on chain, non-custodial) - You are NOT using Bitcoin  Wink You think you are off the grid but actually using FIAT like everyone else while paying much more fees in the process  Grin

That's why I mentioned using it to load my crypto card, which I use for everyday spending. But you responded with 'I meant on-chain, not fiat' 😕.

The whole point of Bitcoin is to exchange it for fiat to use in real life. if you and many more 'Hodlers' only see it as an investment or wait to "only pay in Bitcoin directly". If everyone just keeps waiting and holding, businesses won't accept Bitcoin because no one's spending it. You need to use it, crypto cards, prepaid cards, exchanging it for fiat, whatever. This way, you contribute to its adoption and circulation rather than just hold it and wait for mass adoption.

As in the title: How often do you use cryptocurrency (on chain, non-custodial) for payments.
If not so often or not at all, why do you think it will scale in the future and what will make you use it more often than today.
In my country cryptocurrency Bitcoin is better received than spent. Infact you can't even spend it even if you want to because the government has cracked down on exchanges and banks. Specifically you can't use it for the purchase of goods and payments of services in country. You can however do crossborder payments with it if the merchant has it as a payment option.

Right now we hodl.
