Re: [AUCTION] 2011 Casascius 1BTC "Casacius" Single Error

Just gave ANACS a call and apparently Rae didn't know what she was talking about. Crypto grading is still going strong. As such I'm going to cancel this auction until I can get the coin graded as I originally wanted.

Sorry if this is an inconvenience to anyone, feel free to message me if you'd like to get notified when I post this up again.

If that was the case don't you think they'd have just said so? I asked if they'd allow my order to be shipped by UPS and then was told they were suspending cryptocurrency grading... I'll update tomorrow morning when I can call them.

I thought you were asking for the header for some reason.
I've edited my post to include the entire source with only my name and email redacted.

That's 100% bullshit. I've sent 3 large orders in all crypto in the past 3 days and all have been accepted. You must be getting scammed or something, Lol.... Tongue Can you post the email headers/source?
I can't imagine how it could be a scam considering that their message was basically "can't help you, have a nice day."
Not to mention that I looked up the email address on their website when I contacted them...
I guess I could give them a call tomorrow to confirm... Here's the full message source with my info redacted:

If anyone can recommended a good alternative I might postpone this auction until I can get professional grading performed but I haven't found any services as reputed as ANACS has been in the community.

[AUCTION CANCELED] 2011 Casascius 1BTC "Casacius" Single Error
by
VoluntaryMan
on 13/12/2017, 13:55:02 UTC
Just gave ANACS a call and apparently Rae didn't know what she was talking about. Crypto grading is still going strong. As such I'm going to cancel this auction until I can get the coin graded as I originally wanted.

Sorry if this is an inconvenience to anyone, feel free to message me if you'd like to get notified when I post this up again.

Original Post:
I have a fully funded 2011 single-error Casascius physical brass Bitcoin. It has been in a coin sleeve since I purchased it as a gift at a festival back in 2012.
Photos: https://m.imgur.com/a/Unc98

ANACS is no longer grading these so I haven't been able to get it graded. Slight tarnishing/patina on the non-hologram side.

Fully funded with 1BTC, 1BCH, and all other relevant alts.

I'll figure out an agent of escrow with the buyer when the auction ends (likely minerjones if they're willing to help). Auction will be open for exactly 1 week starting when this post goes up and starts at 1.2BTC. Escrow fees will be split 50/50.

Happy to take additional pictures/ answer questions.

Is this normal? I usually just ignore my mining unless I stop getting payouts but I logged on and saw this huge list of "Pending Misc Payouts" and wasn't sure what was going on.
Is this just the transactions that haven't gotten enough confirmations yet? If so, why are so many such small amounts if my payout threshold is .1BTC?

There have been 55 orders total and nobody has bought the 30 tickets @ 15% discount yet.  Smiley

We are beyond the halfway point. What are you going to do with ~230 BTC?
I'd probably see about getting my first FPGA card and throwing the rest at GLBSE.

Just my fucking luck...  Angry My dedicated miner runs for 10 days straight without issue, and on the day that p2pool finds a billion blocks, I come back to a rig that won't give video. Restart and everything is fine and dandy again. WTF is that?!?! It's like every 10-12 days this shit happens and on the day p2pool has good luck, my share count is 1/6 what it typically is.  Angry
You're not alone, I made the decision to use my computer to spend the day playing Borderlands and therefore not mining (so only .15BTC today)

Is there somewhere we can check the current odds?

Question:
How would this work with p2pool?

Hi VoluntaryMan,

We could point the hashing power to a p2pool node but our miners are not optimized with the proper settings for p2pool. I was also going to use my BFL singles rig to run the contract and they do not work well with p2pool.

My recommendation would be to run the contract on a large pool (deepbit or slush) if you are feeling lucky or abcpool.co if you want to get close to the PPS payout.

GPUMAX is not selling many shares lately so these are the best strategies IMHO.

Best,
gigavps

Would this also not work well on p2pmining.com ?
According to their thread, "Miners will be connecting to a P2Pool server so expect lots of long polls".
AFAIK this means it is equal to connecting to your own p2pool process and therefore would not work well.

Ah, looks like Mt. Red would be my preference then.
Waiting for the transfer to confirm and then buying 4 tickets.

My estimated payout has gone down by about 50% for the past few days... Anyone have any ideas as to why this may be?
My hashrate has stayed about the same 371Mhash/s.
Take a look at avg block times for the last 5 blocks. Sad

If we find 50% of the block (compared to expected) your payout will be 50% of expected.
If we find 200% of the blocks (compared to expected) your payout will be 200% of expected.
Ah, so just bad luck at the moment?
This is what I thought.

Interesting thread. One thing I was considering is starting an LLC for to operate BitCoin mining rigs under. I have a few other business ideas that I have been floating that could operate under the same LLC and if it worked I would be able to separate my personal finances from the LLC’s I then give myself a salary (in the off chance I actually made money). I doesn’t cost much to start an LLC and it offers some protections from taxes and liabilities. For instance all your equipment and power investment can be written off as a loss. You can also write off the deprecation of your equipment as it ages. I have no idea if any of this is relevant or even worthwhile, it’s just something that was rattling around in my head.
I think this is a great idea!
Why give a state more of your hard-earned money when they have their hands in your pockets anyway‽
