hello,
All you need to do is
1) extract the hash from the wallet
https://github.com/openwall/john/blob/bleeding-jumbo/run/electrum2john.py
from the john the ripper bleeding-jumbo pack (install python3 first, works on pc,linux, mac)
https://github.com/openwall/john/blob/bleeding-jumbo
python3 electrum2john.py yourwalletfile.wallet > hash1.txt
slow hash (worse)
or
python3 electrum2john.py yourwalletfile.key > hash2.txt
quick hash (better)

2) prepare appropriate dictionarries based on the information about the password

3) gather some GPU power and run the attack against the password hash.

if you need more explanations just ask.

thank you for that database, I see inside the link to my webpage's faq - how to extract the hash  Cheesy Now I know why I have so many submissions with these files. Imagine how many fairy tales I have read from the "real owners" of these wallets. I will write a book some day Grin Cheesy

Re: Btcrecover token file question

it can be done more efficent, use btcrecover to generate dictionary than use hashcat with the dictionary
1) in btcrecover command instead of "--wallet wallet.dat" put "--listpass > dict1.txt"
2) sort dict1.txt | uniq > dict2.txt
3) use hashcat with dict2.txt

PASSWORD : 123

Can someone pm me the password to $bitcoin$64$a52322f90ea4a89c0158e302dad35833e67758090e94cd6c338c8af8103ac34d$16$a330d7d65767e173$200445$2$00$2$00 I just want to check it with the wallet. I know its bad file but i want to check on my end.

hello everyone,
the password decrypts the hash but not the private keys in the wallet. This wallet is modified to extract wrong hash. The password to decrypt the private keys is different. Even if you decrypt them they may not give you that public addresses in the wallet. Someone who modified the wallet to give wrong hash may also put wrong public addresses to look the wallet is full of coins. This means that is handly crafted fake like many other wallets with given passwords on the first page.

Honestly does anyone from this forum has opened the wallet from this list and was there any coin inside???

ps.
I have hundreds of inquires for password recovery with wallets from this list. I know many are fakes.

Thank you for your reply. The currency is really BTC, our good old grandfather. And according to the hashes, I will say that I observed it myself, in the old versions of extracting hashes like $bitcoin$96$ includes the key-wallet MasterKey. Do you not know this? The private key is really not included in the hash, it is not there and I did not find a hint of it either. (but is it really so) But I think there is some information such as salt or the like. I would like to understand this in detail.

the nowadays bitcoin hash from bitcoin core wallet is:
$bitcoin$[length of last two AES blocks of MasterKey]$[last two AES blocks of MasterKey]$[legth of  the salt]$[the salt]$[noumber of iterations in hash function]$2$00$2$00

Hello everybody! Question to Wallet Password Recovery Is your service still running? I have my old wallet with more than 10 coins. Judging by your approach to work, when you can only send a hash, you can be trusted. What other data can you get from the hash besides the password?
yes, still alive and kicking! you did not mention what kind of wallet it is and what currency?
bitcoin core and BTC? Nowadays it is helpful only to recover the password, no private key can be retrieved from the hash.

I've got wallet.dat with 3.27 BTC (my private from 2011). Still don't remember password. More info in PM.

It amazes me that at least once a week I am contacted by people with these fake wallets that literally give me the hints that are posted from the sellers of these fake wallets.
I am trying to run a legit password cracking business for people that have actual wallets that belong to them.
So if you are one of those legit people please reach out.

me too, I keep sending them link to this thread and most of them doesn't seem to be surprised.

well looking in this service it's pretty cool but can't truly ref someone to use the service because it's 50/50. Why if recovered and fails to not notify the rightful user.
who are you talking about??

hi,
in order to dump private keys I need the wallet file. Then I have to spend some time adjusting scripts to extract them in proper way.

yes, I can work on that.
hi, I was able to dump private keys from pivix wallet using mentioned pywallet. There is a problem in importing them to new wallet. Yes pywallet needs modification to dump it in demanded format, originally is designed for bitcoin not pivx.
It needs investigation, some programming... hours of work
If you decide yes, please use my contact form on the web, fees apply.

well, so if you have reinstalled the client, the support have done the same and the problem persist, I would ruled out the problem with the client.
I would look for a problem with wallet file. You turned off the computer while closing the client. The wallet file might not be closed properly.
Knowing the password you may try to extract the private keys from your old wallet and if success import into fresh new wallet
