FYI looks like well be wrapping up Batch 3 pre-order in the next week or so, so if anyone who has not wants to get in this Batch I would place an order soon.

After a hiatus of sorts, glad to be back in the fold (preordered a Full & two Standards) to go along the the FutureBit LTC cube and half a dozen Moonlander USB sticks....    It's nice not having industrial scale noise & heat in the home.....  Cheers!!!  Wink

The post below saved my bacon - Testimony time.....

I retired the other brands ASIC miners and my GPU racks months ago, kept some ML2s chirping away,  and recently happened up the Apollo.....   Sure!    Why not?

The order was "smooth", the packaging sound, the initial bench start up perhaps too easy (?!?!?!), the location into a heat flow friendly spot in the office (very quiet and aesthetically "cool" to look at), I was missing out on chances to learn....    So......

Proceeded to make on operator error trying to connect to the pool to a point where I "finally" get to learn something - How to download and flash an image onto an SD card.....  Never had done this before and with the notes on this thread, this old dog learned a new trick!    Now I've a backup card and wondering what else I've laying around that I can go flash....

Connecting to the pool with this second worker took some relearning but that's another thread.

Thanks for hearing my testimony, thumbs up on Apollo, thanks to all for leaving instructions and tips on this thread.

Cheers!

Latest Image Download/Instructions

If your Apollo did not come with an micro SD card, you need to update your Apollo to the latest image, or your Apollo is not working properly and/or sd card became corrupted download the latest image here:

Apollo_Node* is the file you need to download (Litecoin.zip is for your USB Node drive).

Yup....   Exactly....

Hoping any USB driver update avoids the need for a BFG update....

Fingers crossed.

Thanks!

THIS IS THE SUPPORT THREAD: Keep this thread on topic!

My four ML2 have been happily mining for months until this morning's April W10 update. Go figure...

bfg miner display:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NO DEVICES FOUND: Press 'M' and '+' to add
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2018-05-13 10:17:37] Waiting for devices; press 'M+' to add, or 'Q' to quit

Physical:   2 x{2 ML2/Anker 9 port hub} -> USB 2.0 --> mobo{BIOSTAR TB250-BTC PRO LGA 1151 Intel B250}

Mobo is happy mining Claymore and Equihash on GPUs -> Problem isolated to ML2 path

I was able to mount & access usb drives when plugging into 9 port hub.    I can also ear ML2's being recognized when plugged into same up.  Just can't see them with the BFG 5.4.2 from the Github from this thread.

Software:  BFG 5.4.2, from jstefanop's github, on this thread, been fine for months.
- Google found a couple threads where BFG won't detect devices, not sure how they relate here.

UART VPC Driver: Obtained from this thread, been working fine from the get go.

I'm physically away from the rig, will have a short window on the rig tomorrow, and wanted to get my thoughts in order before tackling...

I'm reckoning since this coincided with this morning's W10 update, I may not be alone.

Much obliged!

Anyone tried that kind of ports:
http://a.co/dzWEFEE

This is just standard USB front, with USB 3.0 cable which goes to motherboard. It will give you only what specification says. Wikipedia says that about USB 3.0 power specs:
Quote
Power and charging

As with earlier versions of USB, USB 3.0 provides power at 5 volts nominal. The available current for low-power (one unit load) SuperSpeed devices is 150 mA, an increase from the 100 mA defined in USB 2.0. For high-power SuperSpeed devices, the limit is six unit loads or 900 mA (4.5 W), almost twice USB 2.0's 500 mA.[10]:section 9.2.5.1 Power Budgeting

USB 3.0 ports may also implement other USB specifications for increased power, including the USB Battery Charging Specification for up to 1.5 A or 7.5 W, or, in the case of USB 3.1, the USB Power Delivery specification for charging the host device up to 100 W.[12]
You will get something similar, not more than that.
I tried 2 Moolanders on my USB 3.0 front from my Fractal R5 case. They can work just fine at 756MHz. I wouldn't try anything above that, I don't want to fry my motherboard Cheesy
Thanks for the infos.

I just want to find a good hub that can run 4 Moonlanders 2 and >100$ ..  not sure if it's possible

I've two of these, each with 2 ML2s.....

We now have thousands of new people into crypto, and will still be aggressively using the Moonlander 2 as a tool to get more people excited about crypto and its future!

Thank you and to (in my case) HolyBitcoin for making this happen  - I've been learning lots about Scrypt, other cryptos, hubs & such with these machines....    Cheers!!!

I managed to get another two this morning at bitshopper.de, their out of stock again now  Huh  went pretty fast was lucky ...

regarding other coins to mine on link https://www.coinwarz.com/miningprofitability/litecoin/?hr=0&p=0&pc=0&hrn=0&pn=0&pcn=0&e=Bitstamp

punched in the numbers and showed Verge (XVG) you would make 0.51c a day, though never heard of it to be honest against LTC, which PPS rate seems to be decreasing fast last couple of weeks

Just to add i love these moonlanders, well apart from the fans on them...

i got them out of interest

I went XVG route also....   Took "forever" getting the thing to synch before I found the trick....

I've got mine mounted horizontally with the heat sink down.   In the dim lights, it actually looks like a little satellite chirping away

Learning lots.....

I'm still curious. I show this makes a dime a day.

You guys are really spending money on a dime day?

Seems that way for the moment - Guess it depends on one's entry point, timing and posture....

I entered BTC ASIC mining after BTC crashed from $1k and was at $200 each - People were selling rigs by the "pallets"....

I harvested in 3Q17, came short of a lambo by a lot so I and opted for rack of GPUs (3Q17) and a couple ML2s (4Q17)...

Learning a heck of a lot about Scrypt, that's for sure!

YMMV...

When the rig and internet hub are in the same room, I used ethernet.    When I moved the rigs to other rooms, the wifi (in my situation) got flaky.   For those remote locations, powerline internet adapters ($50'ish) worked just fine.    The spec sheet mentions 300' runs max so even if the rig location is in the room next door, you have to consider the copper path from the internet hub to the junction box and then to the room next door...     YMMV

 Roll Eyes

i hope the SEC can stop these blatant market manipulators !!

New to alt-coin but been seen this for years in equities, futures, and commodities - It's called the "Retail Flush"   Often synched with news events.    Getting burnt a couple times is "oddly" a good thing - You'll learn to recognize this spikes and learn how to fade them. An understanding of volume, price action and technicals helps...    Cheers!

Also keep in mind that this is a pretty new concept and it will evolve as things progress.

Newbie on board -  Using my S4 to heat the 1st floor this winter...   Proud participant of that "last" horrific block.

I'm positive I've lots to learn but very impressed with the operations...
