Re: Primedice 3 Launched!!!!!!! | Most Popular Bitcoin Game! | 400k+ BTC Wagered |

I had some money on one account when the new site came. Any way to get it back?

This is what I saw when I went to make an account on PD3:

Quote
If you have a Primedice2 account with balance you need to withdraw you can access it at www.old.primedice.com. Cookies have been reset as the domain has been changed, so if you don't have your user ID/password on hand, email support@primedice.com

old.primedice.com will be up soon, fixing DNS issues
Will the accounts still be there?

Yup, they should still be there.

Have you tried old.primedice.com?

EDIT: Looks like it's down for some reason. CloudFlare errors again. PD3 works normally though. Stunna is probably getting that fixed right now.

Looks like it's been fixed already.

Re: 5 things you should know about Bitcoin's competitors #bitcoin #facts
by

Remind me to steer away from that site for info because they evidently know this scene - nOT! The last thing we need is a panic... People thinking that bitcoin has competition, because it doesn't, it never did. LTC and FTC were created to compliment BTC, not to compete. Altcoins worth 10 times less, collectively, than bitcoins is not competing with bitcoin... against each other, sure. But no altcoin should have so much confidence that it considers itself competition -at least none out there now can.

OP, is this article written by you? If not, please remove this garbage... It's confusing the noobs and those already confused. If this was written by you, after removing this thread please educate your a little bit more before making a claim like this.

Keep in mind Internet Explorer once had 90 percent market share. Of course, I also doubt that Bitcoin will follow the same path as IE did because it costs nothing to switch from IE to Firefox or Chrome but I don't deny that there isn't a possibility (however minute) that Bitcoin might not stay in the number 1 spot forever.

Re: What are the basic features of 2nd gen cryptocoins?
by
Wesley
on 08/08/2014, 11:43:28 UTC
Heres a simple definition:

First generation crypto currencies have very limited functionality, you can store and transfer tokens in a secure and stable manner, using the blockchain as a simple transaction ledger.
Examples are Bitcoin, Litecoin, DOGE.....and pretty much all of their clones.

Second generation crypto-currencies use the blockchain as not only a means of storage and transfer, but also to offer extra functionality, such as marketplaces, financial apps, colored coins......
Examples are NXT, Counterparty, Mastercoin,.....

Second gen currencies are more like financial eco-systems, built on a blockchain, using their own currency as fuel for their application systems.

Sounds right, but what would you call something like Bitcoin with Mastercoin or Colored Coins? Or Peercoin with Peershares? Sometimes a first generation coin can have second generation features layered on top of it.

I'm watching some BBC documentary then some some youtube advertising play, it was from syrian rebels fighting the syrian army. Then it asked me to subscribe them. Who financing this advertisement?

Perhaps it is the Syrian rebels? Or some other group that supports them or is associated with them?

Did you watch the whole ad? Did you click on it to see more information?

Re: Why so many planes crashing/disappearing recently?
by
Wesley
on 25/07/2014, 10:53:34 UTC
The general consensus seems to be:

MH370 = unknown
MH17 = accidentally shot down by pro-Russian rebels
Taiwan plane = typhoon/weather
Algerian plane = weather/thunderstorm/lightning strike?

None of them seem to have been caused by a technical fault in the actual plane (i.e. from shoddy maintenance) but were instead caused by forces outside the plane's control.

easyest way to earn BTC:
1. Get a job;
2. Buy BTC with money you earn

For anyone who is thinking of going down this path, just be aware that most jobs aren't particularly enjoyable. Sad

OP should watch the movie called "Knowing" starring Nicolas Cage where he finds a list of numbers which predict major disasters. I think one of them was even a plane crash. It's not exactly the same thing you're trying to do here but it's close. You will probably enjoy that movie.

Don't people who use their BTC to buy from Bitcoin-accepting merchants usually replenish their lost BTC after a while? That would create a net neutral effect on Bitcoin prices.

Re: Just received a lot of core I7 computers, what to do next ??
by
Wesley
on 24/07/2014, 07:21:34 UTC
Hi,

I'm in a summer install of about 400 new core i7 computers in my campus. I had time and tried x11 cpu mining on multipool thru a mining proxy  , on about 150 computers, and go up to 30/40 MHash. (and i don't seen that the aes option is default disable in the bios  Sad )

Now need some advice with such a red, what's the better ? continue use a multipool , build a P2P Pool, solo mining ?? Going on x13/x15 other news cpu coin ?

Thx for any advices!

X11 is not profitable most of time as good as x13 and i guess x15 will be replaced by x13 soon

you should better use multipools to earn more and to increase performance you need to apply some optimizations in these pcs.
they should not go sleep. Check google for tips http://www.cryptobadger.com/2013/04/build-a-litecoin-mining-rig-optimization/

Is that link for scrypt coins only or for other coins as well?

Is CEX.IO still profitable? Haven't used it for ages!
it's not profitable since months ago
better to invest your money in another place

What about trading ghs? Buy low, sell high?

I think mining alone is not profitable, but trading the contracts can be profitable if you know what you're doing. As you said, buy low and sell high (or sell high and buy low). This assumes that you are a good trader, of course. I've never tried it but risk-wise, I suspect it would be similar to trading altcoins or BTC/USD.

So they are launching their own altcoin now? Any more details about it? Will it have a blockchain? Or will it be like Canada's failed MintChip experiment? Seems interesting although it's sad that they're abusing their power to stamp out decentralized rivals such as Bitcoin.

Re: [2014-07-23] - New Zealand to Treat Bitcoin as Foreign Currency
by
Wesley
on 23/07/2014, 12:32:19 UTC
Seems like New Zealand have got the right idea with this approach.

As a New Zealander, I find this rather interesting. I wonder what they mean by the phrase "monitor any use of bitcoin"? It seems that they want to make sure that people who receive bitcoins in exchange for goods and services pay tax on their bitcoin income, but I'm not sure how this would be enforced. Surely they aren't planning on hiring people to sift through the blockchain?

Like you said it just means they'll be watching to make sure it's used legitimately and not for nefarious purposes or money laundering etc. They'll just tax it when people exchange it for fiat and want their capital gains cut. I very much doubt anyone will be 'sifting through the blockchain', but it could be used to snare someone in the future if they're not careful.

Are you sure? This part of the article suggests otherwise:

Quote
"Generally, if someone sells goods or services in exchange for bitcoin, then the market value of the goods or services received in exchange is liable for tax. People should treat an alternative 'currency' dollar, such as bitcoin as they would a foreign dollar from a tax perspective, as transactions are assessable and deductible for income tax purposes to the same extent as other cash or credit transactions," an IRD spokeswoman told interest.co.nz

If he took the proceeds from the auction, put it in bitcoin and hodl'd for a year, then he could pay everyone back maybe

Bitcoin's price would need to grow 1,000 times in a year. And even if it were possible, it would only be in fiat terms. Someone who lost 1 BTC would only be awarded $600, not the $600,000 that they actually deserve.

I get a 404 error. Sad

Google shows a cached version of that page, but I can't find any references elsewhere.

But anyway, if this is true then I'm guessing that this is good news for CEX.IO users. I don't use them but I wonder if this will increase the value of their mining contracts?

EDIT: It's back up. Smiley
