Neither have I, and I totally agree with what you said below:

People will continue to see btc as an investment opportunity.... You can`t stop them from buying bitcoins.

It's volatility and sometimes uncertainty coupled with anonymity make people see it as an investment opportunity.

There is freedom of speech and opinions, you can`t create censorship.

The freedom of speech, I guess, was one of the factors why we have this post here, after all, wasn't it? Cool

Good points, guys. Who can stop calling it investment? Why would they?

The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language defines an "investment" as

property or another possession acquired for future financial return or benefit. So, what should we call BTC then?

My End Goal with BTC is to create a kind of a retirement plan and a way of making money (by trading, for example) when I get old and will have to retire and live on some savings or any other plans. Ultimately, I want to be financially independent without having to worry about the president, or the government, or any other third party beyond my control that is supposed to take care of its senior citizens.

Based on what I've read and seen, I think the world is not ready for crypto, but an increasing number of countries work towards that goal because they don't want to miss on that opportunity.

I believe banks need some kind of guarantee that they are protected against loss on cryptocurrency before they can offer a deposit, so I guess it's possible, but only after imposing certain regulations on this market.
On the other hand, speaking of deposits, I don't really understand what's the use of leaving your crypto assets with a bank and paying for that if you can easily ensure protection using a cold wallet? Wink

Look at it this way, theft ("A") is illegal ("C"), whereas taxation ("B") is legal ("-C"), right? If A=C and B=C, then A=B, right? But in our example A=C, but B=-C, so they cannot be equal. Therefore, in terms of "linear logic," "taxation" ≠ "theft," IMHO.

Legal and illegal pertain to laws. Aren't we supposed to be equal in America. Declaration of Independence, paragraph 2:
... We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. ...

So, who is right, since we are all created equal? If some other jokers make taxes legal, even though theft is illegal, but I make a law that taxes are illegal just like theft, why is my law not equal to theirs?

Actually, anybody who gets down to the basics of it all, and properly proclaims his law and the upholding of it, doesn't owe any taxes. Taxes will not be taken from him. How to do this?

Stop contracting with government in the W-4 and other docs.
Require to face your accuse in court as permitted by law:
    THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is your accuser on income tax indictments.
    Your accuser can't take the oath and get on the stand and testify.
    No case.
Force the man or woman bringing an accusation against you to show the contract or the injury. If you signed, then pay. If you did injury, then repay. Otherwise you don't owe.

Are you part of the laws of the U.S. government? How did you get that way? Let's see the contract you signed. Why are they calling you a citizen without naturalization? Was it your idea that you would be a citizen because you were born on a certain chunk of land?

The United States makes it easy to not pay taxes, legally. Other countries might not make it so easy. But with a bit of work, you can get out of taxes everywhere.

BTW, this makes taxation to not be theft. Rather, it makes it to be voluntary ignorance of the law.

Just curious, how do you get out of taxes in the US? Legally, I mean, of course.

It is 100% real and not only because of the heat: climate has shifted to some unusual kinds of weather for the past 30 to 50 years. And the conservationists seem not to be aware of the real causes. All they've got is assumptions... Neither do they seem to have any solutions...

what kind of people are more corrupted? Educated or Uneducated.. i think you know better. Education should be the the prime source to establish morality and responsibility against the corruption. But why the 80% [i think] of total corruption is happened among the literate people?

Because the remaining 20%, i.e. illiterate or uneducated just never get a chance to occupy a position that enables them to be a part of corruption. That simple. Wink So, education hasn't got anything to do with corruption, but it provides a way to get involved if you are prone to it.

I agree. Education provides an opportunity to be engaged in corruption, but it doesn't change a person's attitudes or integrity, which means that education itself doesn't spoil people. It just might enable morally bankrupt people to engage in corruption, IMO.

I think that if a serious extension of life becomes a reality, it will be very expensive. Otherwise, it is necessary to limit the birth rate, or even forbid people to have children.

Not necessarily. If humans can become truly immortal, we could explore the entire galaxy and believe me, we have plenty of planets there to live and spread, we wouldn't need to stop having children at all.

This looks like a better idea than limiting the birth rate. Besides, I know people keep working on it and it's just a matter of time when we are able to leave the planet and start living somewhere out there on another planet.

I don't think it's fair to say 2018 has not been our year just because it hasn't reached $50K.
It's a market, as volatile as any other market. Yes, it hasn't exceeded our expectations, but I believe it's got the potential

I don't really think so. The crypto ecosystem, especially its security and reliability, seems to have certain room for improvement; people, both those in charge and ordinary people need to come to grip with everything it takes; the governments need to develop legislative framework for all of it, etc., etc....
As you might understand, there's a lot that has to be done before the world is ready for cryptocurrency.
Yes, it is great; yes, it is very promising, I know that, but it doesn't necessarily mean the entire world is ready to grasp it.

Your idea of getting rid of and ignoring BTC sounds pretty much the same as "ignore US Dollar."
It could be restated as "ignore money" = "ignore comfort" = "ignore stability" = "ignore your life," etc. Wink
