The max coupon for the L3+ is a $200 one anyway.

Depends when you are talking about, I paid 2000.00 for batch 1 early this year and had some 500.00 coupons that I was able to use for more L3+, but I also have some 350.00 coupons that when the miners were 800something, I was still able to apply but never ordered, I would like to use them now to get some cheap miners to offset the cost of the gouge I paid at 2K, I just opened a ticket and told them just that...I guess they aren't a billion dollar company for nothing...I want to see what they say...

can someone share the mining results in dual with RX AMD 4GB cards please
I am making 50% less than is written on whattomine  Huh entering my hashrate on the site, the site is calculating almoat a double more than I am getting from the pool...

...Yeah, I was contributing 7Gh/s with my Asic's and was getting around 50% as well. I switched back, to Litecoin. Then a day later I thought I would try one more time...nope, same thing. I got to wondering, theoretically, can a pool steal half of your hashing power? As in, could some of your hashing profits be diverted into another payout address belonging to the diverter? I'm not accusing any particular pool, but it got me thinking anyways...

How can we start mining?  what are those steps to start mining?

Thank you.

The very first , which I feel is both the most important, and overlooked is...
STEP 1. Ask yourself 'why' it is you want to mine.

Then post your answer here, because I am betting the advise you get can be very different depending on how you answer this very important question.

Asiphobism and the Asicnostic

Hey ,
           Happy mining to you all.

Yes those words in the title are made up, but use your deductive reasoning and just listen to the heart of the message, will ya?

What are your thoughts on first generation miners (for lack of better description), the 'Asicnostic's' and the same for the 'next' generation of people flowing into mining who, like I described in a post I just posted to the litecoin forum, whom contain a portion who know little more about mining than what they heard on public television or the likes. Specifically with respect to the fact many new people getting into mining simply buy an ASIC or 20 from a big company, and know little more than how to plug and play?

Still need to play nice together in the sandbox...how can these two different miners better understand each other? Are ASIC miners intrinsically bad? Or could there be a bit of Asiphobism going on here if we are honest.

Looking forward to some intelligent, constructive conversation to better bridge some people caught in the middle of the old and the new...

Feel free to post why it is you are for or against ASIC's if you feel the need to educate, but the thread is under Altcoin mining, because I feel the ASIC's are under represented in the thread, don't know if they are afraid to post, or just not around...

Re: Mining , still worth it?

Interesting to me is the question of weather or not mining is still worth it, but without alot of context as to why people are mining in the first place. Because to me, either you are in it for some held beleifs or what not, or you are in it to make money as in treating it like a business. I think many miners that begin mining like the idea of making money, but have no idea how to treat it like a business. For example, for making money, asic's to me make sense, and those sense (cents...sorry couldn't resist) add up to dollars which any business needs coming in. If you are mining because of other loyal or crypto religious beliefs, then maybe it is worth it to those, but not so much to those who would like to run it as a home business, but don't know how...to those, maybe it would never be 'worth it'...I'm not saying I'm only ASIC, but I'll mine with whatever is still 'worth it'.

Got a batch 1 A3 and been dumping those s..t coins ever since, been glad because the next big batch is going to ship out and all the new miners are going to want to sell some coins and price will plummet further. I really don't see Sia going anywhere, as the company is once again out of money, and there really seems to be an almost amazingly slow adoption of the whole concept for anything 'grand' to happen. I just hope to pay off my expensive batch 1 price tag before the bulk of the March batch gets online...Might as well take whatever the market will give for siacoin, and put it into something with some potential IMO.
