Re: Before You Think of Giving Up on Crypto, Read This
by
Ziskinberg
on 15/07/2025, 21:11:05 UTC
I am not going to sugar-coat my words to any newbie, if you cannot deal with volatility; if you cannot handle losses, then quit if you want to. There are a thousand and one other kinds of investments that are more stable and less riskier than crypto.  Bitcoin is even a better option for newbies but there are still risks. Just like op has mentioned, if you cannot stay committed and disciplined, go for other options that suit your risks tolerance instead of holding on to something your mental health can't handle.
Well, you have a good point though. That is, if you think you can’t be comfortable anymore investing in bitcoin because you can’t deal its volatility nature. However, if you can still stretch your patience and find ways on how to make it better and minimize the risk brought by volatility, then quitting isn’t the best option.

Bitcoin is always a high risky investment, one should be aware of it prior to investing. So if you think you are one of those weak hands who get easily panic when the price seems highly unstable, then I suggest get rid of bitcoin while your losses are still manageable.

Re: Use a small amount even if you have a big budget.
by
Ziskinberg

Most of the time we regret buying something when we see the price drop. Then we don't have any more dollars to buy. But if we divide our total dollars into three or four parts and buy slowly at each down, then the chances of profit are high. And if we get profit after buying first, then we will sell. For this reason, I think it is better to invest little by little instead of investing all the dollars at once. What is your opinion?
If you are planning to invest, then it’s better you make use of DCA strategy, you don’t have to invest everything you having at one’s, it doesn’t make sense, just have a specific amount which you are going to be investing within a specific interval, let’s say you might decide to be investing $100 every week. If you decide to invest everything which you having at once, then even when there is a drop in market, you won’t have opportunity to accumulate more bitcoin at that moment, but that doesn’t mean you should keep on waiting for bitcoin to dump before you going to invest in bitcoin.
Investing all at once will only increase the risk, but if you are here for long term hodling, then there’s no issue with that. However, if you aim to seek for short term profits, even with a small budget you can start accumulating bitcoin. The price may be expensive though, but when you buy through DCA, you will not feel the burden of having to spend a huge amount just to have bitcoin.

Re: BTC has a new ATH and I'm FOMO. What about you?
by

This is one of those times where we’ll be tested if we’re really into HODLing. Sure, we can already sell now and lock in some profit, nothing wrong with that. But if we believe it’s still too early, then we gotta wait it out. A real bull run means bigger prices ahead, so patience is key.

We might not be at the very beginning anymore, but if we’re realistic with our targets, there’s a good chance we’ll hit them during this run. And yes, I’m calling it a bull run as we’ve already hit multiple ATHs this year. Even with all the bad news, especially globally, Bitcoin stayed strong and kept moving in a bullish direction.

Only time will tell, like I've said before, this is just a $1000, I am willing to lose it all,....

Good to know! So you're betting that this Bitcoin bull run will spark an altcoin season .. nice one.

If I may suggest, try to manage your risk a bit. Maybe go half on high-volume altcoins, the safer plays, then use the other half on coins with solid potential. If they take off, a 100x return isn’t impossible especially if we see the same kind of altcoin season we’ve seen in the past.

Good luck anyway.

Re: 2024 PBA Governor's Cup

Guys, do you think what happened about the dunk issue in the first match of the championship is a really huge issue that could affect both teams?
I am planning to still bet for TNT in the 2nd game, I am just waiting for the game to become available in bc.game around today or tomorrow.
That was just Game 1, it shouldn’t have a huge impact on the whole series. Honestly, if anyone here is willing to place a series bet and they’re backing TNT, I’ll gladly take the other side, even with TNT up 1-0.

With everything that happened, I really believe SMB’s gonna bounce back hard. They’ll take this personally and come out with something to prove. Who knows, maybe SMB goes on a run and takes four straight to win the championship.

Re: 2025 NBA Season
by

on 15/07/2025, 01:11:20 UTC

These kinds of lists are subjective. Everyone has their own personal list but there are certain players who appear on almost everyone's all-time greats list. The rankings may vary but names like Jordan, LeBron, Magic, Kareem, Bird and Wilt are always there.
Yeah, exactly. I wouldn’t argue with Jordan being at the No. 1 spot as he was insanely popular during his era, and having witnessed it myself, I totally get it. But I was surprised to see LeBron at No. 2. Personally, I think Kobe should be right up there. Even Jordan himself said Kobe was the only player who could truly match him, so it makes sense he should be next in line.

And looking at the list, Kobe’s not even in the top 10? That’s wild.
As for other players, I think Curry will definitely make the list once he retires.

Re: 2024 PBA Governor's Cup
by

The problem on PBA is we have a slow reaction officials and do a reverse call despite it was played almost a minute ago that is important on a very close game.

I’m surprised they overturned the points while only few seconds remaining on the clock.

They’re not like the NBA where, when a play is under review, it’s shown on the big screen for everyone to see. In the PBA, it’s just behind-the-scenes, they review it privately and then announce their decision. This league feels more and more rigged. They’re damaging their own reputation, and it’s no surprise why people barely watch the regular season anymore.

They should actually be thankful that a lot of fans are still tuning in for the finals. But it’s pretty obvious how they’re trying to script this series.
They want it to go the distance.....

Re: Nobody don't want to borrow money but they need to do it

No country has ever developed without borrowing money. Borrowing isn’t just for times of crisis, it actually makes more sense if it’s used for national development. It’s like having a solid plan but not enough resources to execute it, so you borrow to make that plan happen.

Just look at the U.S. it has the biggest debt in the world, yet it’s also the most powerful country. That alone shows that debt, if managed and used properly, can actually lead to progress and development.

Re: Player Interpretation of Provably Fair Systems
by
Ziskinberg
on 14/07/2025, 12:38:21 UTC
There are already a lot of websites out there that explain what you're asking, with meanings and examples. Like this one below…

How Provably Fair Works

Quote
Using complex math and cryptography, Provably Fair guarantees that game outcomes are determined before players bet, preventing manipulation. This is achieved through a combination of random numbers generated by both the casino and the player, along with a unique identifier for each game, called variables.

The 3 Key Variables
Player Seed: Before you start playing, you generate a unique number called the ‘player seed’. You can either choose this number yourself or let the game generate it for you.
Server Seed: The game server creates another unique number called the ‘server seed’. This number is kept hidden from you to prevent any cheating.
Nonce: This is a number that starts from 0 or 1 and increases with every bet you place. It ensures that each game round is unique.

(Basically, it’s like a casino being transparent with its players, letting us verify the results of the game ourselves.)

Re: Is BTC to 150K still happening this year?
by
Ziskinberg
on 14/07/2025, 12:01:38 UTC
We’re getting really close, so keep that optimism alive. You know how it is, when Bitcoin turns bullish, nothing can stop it. And this is exactly what investors love, especially those who are also into altcoins. They know that when Bitcoin pumps, altcoins usually follow with their own runs.

We already saw a bull run last year, but this one could be even bigger.
So, better be ready, if Bitcoin hits $150K, this whole market could go wild.

Re: A quick assessment: How has relationships helped your gambling activities? ‎
by
Ziskinberg
on 13/07/2025, 16:25:19 UTC
I believe more in luck when it comes to gambling. If I gamble and it's my lucky day, I'll win. If I don't win, I have to accept it because that's the best way to go.
But on the other hand, I have friends who also enjoy gambling, and we always share our winnings when one of us wins.

You don’t really need partners if you believe winning is all just luck. But the reason why some gamblers or bettors team up with others is so they can share strategies. From there, they can build something better together hoping it helps them improve and actually become profitable in the long run.

Re: Pertaining to leadership roles, do family financial background have much effect?
by
Ziskinberg
on 13/07/2025, 14:15:20 UTC
You tend to get respect when you come from a good family background. Of course, there are people who came from nothing and made it big, rags to riches stories, but those are rare. In business, connections matter a lot. If you come from a wealthy or well-known family, it’s much easier to get into the right circles. Even if you’re not that smart, as long as you have the right connections, your chances of success are still high.

At the end of the day, even politics starts to look like a business. No one really enters public service without gaining something in return. The position always comes with benefits whether it’s influence, money, or both, so it's no surprise that many treat it more as an opportunity than a responsibility.

Re: See No gambling Hear no gambling Talk No gambling for strict regulation?
by
Ziskinberg
on 13/07/2025, 13:14:18 UTC
One suggestion I agreed with was that instead on banning gambling, let their be some new added regulations that will limit gamblers to spending just a certain amount for gambling. If they are limited to a certain bankroll size weekly or monthly, then it can force every gamblers to becoming a responsible gambler. Sometimes people needs to be forced or be in a tight situation before they learn how to control their decisions. So, that's just my suggestion, but they will not see it and will only do what ever they have decided to do.
It’s good if casinos are willing to cooperate, but even then, gamblers often find ways to get around restrictions. It’s actually easy to do especially with everything now tied to a single payment app. For example, if I have a friend, I could just rent his account to gamble. He earns a bit, I get to play, and that kind of setup can easily happen behind the scenes.

So instead of trying to limit access, which people can still bypass, a more feasible approach might be to increase the minimum deposit. That way, it adds a layer of friction without relying too much on strict controls, and it could naturally filter out impulsive or casual gambling.

ust give them time to realize it, after all, Bitcoin was never guaranteed to be a safe haven investment. Anyone claiming otherwise is likely just hyping it, especially if they're already heavily into Bitcoin.

Institutional investments will keep growing soon, and just because someone isn’t investing now doesn’t mean they won’t in the future.
Look at Jamie Dimon, he criticized Bitcoin before, and now he’s out here praising it.

Re: AI for sports prediction.
by

on 12/07/2025, 21:12:27 UTC

Do not be fooled into thinking AI is a safe money to make money out of betting in sport, that is just a lie being sold by some people to get money from gullible people.
Well, actually you don't use AI to predict the outcome of the game, you use it to gather the information you need so you can analyze it properly. The decision-making should still come from us. some people assume that just because AI is smart, they can rely on it completely. That kind of mindset is what leads to losses. We need to change that by learning from our mistakes. Just take a look at our losing records in gambling (assuming we even bother to track them) that alone should tell us something.

Agreed. This what I don’t understand to Pacers. They don’t have Haliburton anymore this season while they allow to let go their good center that has can do 3.

According to the report, they didn't let him go, it was Turner who are really willing to leave the team.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45690444/pacers-were-fully-prepared-go-tax-myles-turner
Quote
INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard said the team was "fully prepared" to go into the luxury tax to retain longtime starting center Myles Turner and was "surprised" by the Milwaukee Bucks' offer to lure him away.

So it looks like there’s nothing the Pacers can do at this point, Turner is gone, and they just have to move on. The good thing is they still have the budget to sign a solid replacement. Ideally, someone who can deliver consistently both in the regular season and especially in the playoffs.

Re: Is a University Degree Still Worth Anything?
by

on 11/07/2025, 21:51:34 UTC
It depends on your own stance with education and hitting a university degree. While others don’t see it as a compulsory factor, but maybe the rest of here still want to give value to it due to their personal reasons.

As per my own stance, I would still want to see my kids acquire a university degree in the future. Life isn’t certain, and the more it will be uncertain if you don’t have any bachelor’s degree that will back up you in the near future. This isn’t just about job hunting, but it’s something one of the wealth of every individual that anyone can take pride of.

Re: Trading the market then vs Now...
by
Ziskinberg
on 10/07/2025, 21:45:28 UTC
This didn't just start now, for a long time investors and traders have used tweets and actions of people who have some kind of influence on the market to make their short term predictions. The thing is, this is usually a short term strategy and as time goes on, those people no longer have as much influence as they did, for example, Elon Musk. Thus traders still use technical and fundamental analysis, particularly when you are looking at the long term.
Trading outcomes could be somehow influenced by VIP’s and celebrities but the length of duration is only temporary. That’s because their influence do not last longer, everything still goes back to the basics, having fundamental and technical analysis that would help to determine the final outcome when trading.

Newbies in trading may not realized it now, but eventually, when they start losing consistently, that’s when they’ll start doing the fundamentals and technical thing.

Re: The regret of early Investors or the regret you get for procrastinating
by
Ziskinberg
on 10/07/2025, 20:28:30 UTC
Regrets won't matter much because in the end we still have to move on. What I mean is that although we are allowed to regret something, in the end we have to move on because if we only lament what has happened then we will only be trapped with memories of the past that never end, which also does not make us grow.

I understand we must feel the same way where the thought of “why not buy bitcoin long ago” is always there but in the end things like this cannot be changed and it would be better to focus on the future than just having to focus on the past that will never be repeated.

We can still buy bitcoin even though it's not what it used to be but in the end if there is seriousness about wanting to own bitcoin or invest for the long term in bitcoin everything can still be realized because it's never too late, there's no word buying now is too expensive to buy if the focus is for the future then we can do it from today without regretting the past.
When there’s a will, there’s a way. So no matter how expensive it is at the moment, if you really have the real intention to buy, you will find ways to buy. There’s never too late to invest as long as you have the eagerness deep inside. But on the other hand, even if the price is still very cheap, but you don’t trust it anyway, then you will certainly make an alibi not to buy, simply as that.

Regrets are normal, as long as you don’t tolerate yourself repeating the same mistake again.
