Control / Configure 100+ Miners with One Interface - Possible?
by
Zyekad
on 27/01/2018, 11:31:43 UTC
I have 24 S9's, 25 L3+, 10 DR100 Pro, and 8 mining rigs with 3 to 10 GPU's each.

Is there any software available that will allow me to set the pool information for all miners hashing the same algo at once?  Right now for example if I go to switch from an XVG pool to a LTC pool I have been logging into every L3+ individually, changing the pool, and rebooting the units.

Is there a windows based program (other than awesome miner which gets really expensive once you get into this many miners and video cards) that can change all my L3+ at once, or my S9's, or all my NVidia cards, or AMD cards, etc with a single entry?  If not, can anyone provide a step by step for a total Linux noob on how to do this in Linux?

Thanks in advance!

Need Coder for Web Based Miner - NOT malware or hidden - mining for charity
by
Zyekad
on 21/01/2018, 23:30:28 UTC
Hello,

First off - this is a paid job offer for a coder that has written miners and is very familiar with cryptocurrency.  We are not asking for someone to work and get a share of a company, but this is a job that pays fiat or coins (your choice).

If you want to see a basic layout of what we are doing you can go to idlecpu.com which is an incomplete site which we need someone to finish and replace the coinhive miner.

In more detail:

We are looking for someone to develop a web based miner using both the CPU and GPU. This can NOT be an implementation of coinhive or another program and must be unique. This program can not be used in any other location since it is not malware and we don't want a chance of it being flagged as malware in antiviruses due to misuse on other sites. This miner needs to be unique code and will only be run on our site where visitors want to run the code to help their favorite charity.

The web based miner must be at least 70% as efficient as a standard miner like xmk-stak, ccminer, cgminer, claymore miner, etc. It also needs to contain user customizations (a slider or clickable +/- button) for how many resources it is using. This slider should allow the user to select anywhere from a minimal impact on computer performance when set it low, and it can use 100% of the CPU and GPU power when it is set as high as possible.  This must have multiple levels in between such as a scale from 1 to 10 for resource usage so it is completely under the users control.  It also needs a "stop" button so that all mining can be temporarily stopped by the user, and then they can click a "start" button to restart the mining.

The mining page that currently exists as a separate page that is gone to after clicking "Click to start donating your unused CPU power" should be on the main page and not be a different page.  This should allow mining to be started right from the main page, with a list of charities where a radial button can be clicked to select which charity the mining is for just above it.

There should be an option to create an account for those wanting to keep records of how much they have donated for tax purposes.  This should then keep track of everything they have earned, and somewhere on the site when they log in they should be able to print a report showing each day what they donated in USD to each charity, the total of what was donated to each charity, and a total amount donated to all charities.

Lastly on the main page there also needs to be a direct donation link using PayPal. This is WAY too big and prominent on the current mining page, but we still need the ability for people to donate directly.

The main page needs to show statistics in more detail than what is currently displayed and this should be geared towards the general public, not a miner with crypto experience, so terminology needs to be more clear.

It should have statistics that continuously update showing:

1) All time total raised for ALL charities in USD.
2) All time total raised for each charity.
3) Total raised by the user for each charity.
4) Number of users donating CPU time.

This needs to also have a backend where it tracks a lot of information and offers options that only we see including:

1) Set the wallet addresses for each of the charities so when selected the coins go into the correct wallet.
2) An easy way to add new charities.
3) Each charity should have a percentage that can be set in the admin area (not visible to others) that is kept for administrative costs so that percentage goes to a separate wallet (need to be able to put this wallet address into the admin) and not into the wallet for the charity.
4) At midnight EST every day it should take the amount of coins earned for each charity and record this amount in the database along with the date and the current USD value. This should then reset to zero for the next day.  We need to be able to see how much was generated each day for each charity in a report saving full historical data as to how much was earned.
5) We should be able to select any mining pool in the backend. The miner should be able to mine CryptoNight based coins with the CPU, and with the GPU mine Ethash, Neoscript or Equihash, with the ability to change to multiple different coins and pools automatically choosing whichever is most profitable at the time.  It should check this with "whattomine.com" every 10 minutes and switch to the algorythm and coin that is most profitable at that time which we have entered into the admin area as a coin to mine.
6) There will be other information and specifications needed in the admin so please calculate extra time when quoting this job to add these things in as we determine exactly what is needed based on the code once a beta version is up and running.

We have some of this already developed and had used Coinhive, but now that is being flagged by antivirus's and even Windows defender as malware so we need to write our own miner and have it implemented before we launch the site. We also wanted to be able to take advantage of both CPU and GPU mining from within the browser window and coinhive is CPU only.

Lets compare and do some analysis of where Canaan NEEDS to be for their units to make sense:

S9 at 13.5 TH/s - current price (last batch, inflated price) - $2,725 ea.
A821 at 11 TH/s - estimated price based on 60 units, bulk pack, reseller - $2,885 ea.

S9 power consumption - daily cost (at $0.10/kWh) - $3.18
A821 power consumption - daily cost (at $0.10/kWh) - $2.88

Avg. Daily Profit from S9 - $32.50
Avg. Daily Profit from A821 - $26.23

Days to recoup investment (not counting power supply, shipping, customs, etc):

S9 - ($2725/$32.50) - 84 days - then a profit of $32.50 per day
A821 - ($2885/26.23) - 109 days - then a profit of $26.23 per day

1 year ROI:

S9 one year ROI - $11,862.50
A821 one year ROI - $9,573.95

I know things change in regards to difficulty and other factors, but if Canaan doesn't lower their price it won't make sense to purchase their product compared to the S9's, even at the current insanely inflated S9 pricing.  This is really sad, since I do believe Bitmain needs some serious competition.

Hopefully Canaan can see this and will end up pricing these similarly to their retired 741's since around the $1400 range would make sense to get these units, but at $2800+ it is ridiculously overpriced for the hash power you are getting with the amount of watts they use.

Just my 2 cents...

They finally enabled my account again - guess what - Bitcoin is down nearly 20% from when I planned on selling it.

At this point I have to say .... SCAM

Take a look at their terms of service and they are NOT allowed to have done this in the manner they did.  I have started the arbitration process under section 20 of their terms of service and will see what happens.  It isn't about the money with me, but about the principal, and I hope others stand up and are willing to spend a little actually making them go to arbitration for the losses suffered.

Bittrex - Disabled Account for no reason - They have my money/coins
by

First off if I posted this in the wrong second I would ask that a mod please moves it to the correct place.

I have been trading on Bittrex for just under a year and am even Enhanced Verification enabled (they have my passport, drivers license, selfie, etc).  All of a sudden a few days ago I get the message when I log in that my account has been disabled with the following text:

Possible reasons your account may be disabled:

You requested that your account get disabled
You attempted to verify your account with an identification document that has already been used
We suspected your account was hacked and disabled it for you
Your account was involved in irregular trading activity
You violated the Bittrex terms of service

I have done none of these things and in looking at the IP login history there is nothing to make it look like it was hacked or accessed from any computer other than mine.  I have never done anything "odd" or "irregular" in my trading, and I haven't violated their terms of service.

Has anyone had an experience with this?  I have contacted support for days and no replies.  I can't enable my account myself and the only link Bittrex provides is to contact support.  Does anyone have an idea of how I can get my account enabled again?  With all the current prices changing so rapidly it can be very expensive when they seemingly have no customer support to even help in this situation and days have passed with no reply from them.

So here are the questions...

1) What exchanges have stated they will be acknowledging bitcoin gold?  Where is it best to have your bitcoin?

2) Once Bitcoin Gold exists are we going to see a massive sell off of bitcoin once people get the "dividend"?

Can't believe this thread still exists.  It is paramount to piracy editing Claymore's miner like this.  He wrote it, he deserves his fee, and if you don't like it you should use a different miner or write your own.

Re: Asic Resistant mineable altcoin?
by

on 24/07/2017, 09:55:44 UTC
From my understanding resistant doesn't mean an ASIC can't be created, just that the cost to create the ASIC would be too high compared to the returns that would be gained by it's use.  In experimentation as a hobby (not to make a living) I have mined Scrypt, Qubit, Grostle and a bunch of others with CPU and with GPU mining.  In my experience even those where there are ASIC miners produced coins when in a pool, but each coin I tried when playing around with mining did produce some significant differences in income when sold.

I'll bite - PM me and you can send me a copy, and as long as it works I will send you the 0.05 BTC.  I can run it on a sandbox computer in case of backdoors or viruses, and use an account on Bittrex with only 0.01 BTC in it for testing to see if the amount grows as you claim.  I'm willing to risk less than 30 bucks to test it for you.  I will report back here once tested to either authenticate, or deny it, and will post of video of it working if you are legit.  Sound fair enough?  If so, send me a PM with a way to contact you to get the program.

How to set up a mining pool - anyone have answers?
by
Zyekad
on 18/07/2017, 08:20:41 UTC
I was wondering how difficult it was to set up a mining pool.  Can anyone provide a link to software that allows this to be done and manages the backend?  I have seen multiple sites with very similar backend dashboards so am guessing there is either a commercial or freeware solution out there but in looking to find it I haven't been able to figure out where it is!

Thanks!

Grass Roots Cryptoeyes Project Looking for Partners!
by
Zyekad
on 18/07/2017, 07:37:14 UTC
We have a very small team (only 3 people so far) that has started a new grass roots crypto project.  This project contains some aspects that are common already and also some new and unique ideas that haven't been done before.  We are looking for coders and people familiar with coins and blockchains who can join the team and be part of the project.  Compensation would be part of the income from the project and everyone joining the team is considered an owner and partner.

In a nutshell without giving any of the truly unique aspects away or going into too much detail, some of the things we are looking to create are:

1) A basic exchange to allow people to deposit Fiat and purchase all major coins/tokens directly (no getting bitcoin/ethereum first, then converting).  This is actually a legal nightmare and we have already hired attorneys who are assisting with this so we are able to offer this without having any potential legal issues.
2) A trading exchange allowing people to issue buy/sell orders for all major coins/tokens which are known to be good, solid, legitimate projects with active development teams.
3) A separate section on the exchange for "penny coins" which are low market cap, low volume, and low price coins with new and unproven development teams.
4) We will have an information section on every coin/token.  This will contain information from the coin/token developers either written by them specifically for us or taken from public sites such as this one.  This will be continuously updated as new milestones are reached so people can see the different steps the coins/tokens have taken and read about their unique purposes, integration, and learn more about the projects.
5) We will have information about the pricing for each coin/token on every major site available at our customers fingertips including the current buy and sell prices, volume, and much more.
6) We are developing an application to provide customers analysis and informational updates via the PC Desktop, Mac, Android and iPhone.  This is going to be extremely customizable and will provide pricing alerts based on very specialized criteria, intelligent analysis of trends, customized links to articles across all major sites as they are posted that pertain to requested coins/tokens, information of bullish or bearish behavior, and much more that I can't go into detail about at this time publically.

The above things are just the tip of the iceberg (there is a 7, 8, 9, and 10 which I didn't post that are completely unique).  These innovative concepts I have not posted since we don't want to make them public yet and have someone else beat us to releasing them.  These are the things that really make our project stand out with exciting new innovations.  Additional new ideas from anyone in the team (or even from outside the team) are always welcome and encouraged, and we do our best to be open-minded to any idea that is feasible while adding ease of use and extra value for our customers.

We are NOT planning on doing an ICO "crowdfunding" to raise investment dollars as we already have our basic financing needs met.  We are looking to create a good, solid, legitimate company that earns an income based on the superior product we provide through innovation, developing new unique tools, providing great 24/7 customer support (phone or email), continuous expansion with new features and concepts, and giving all our customers the most positive experience possible when using our services.

*READ THIS SENTENCE* - If you are considering joining just to make a quick buck through an ICO crowdfunding this is NOT the project for you.  If you want to be a partner in something truly innovative regarding coins/tokens and blockchain technology, and have programming experience or other skills which would be helpful with this project we hope to hear from you!

To join the team or get more information send me a private message here with your contact information, skill set in regards to blockchain, coins, programming, etc, and we will get back to you very shortly.  We are trying to bring cryptocurrency to the masses and into the mainstream and would love to hear from you with any suggestions you may have.

Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development
by
Zyekad
on 14/07/2017, 16:05:41 UTC
Devs:

What you have already done with 200 confirmations is killed a fly with a 30 ton steel beam instead of just using a fly swatter... and the beam wasn't yours, but it belonged to your customers and you damaged it in the process.

You should have at least put a note that stating "Due to security issues with the block chain for the coin you are transferring we have had to increase processing to 200 confirmations.  This could delay the availability of your coin for up to 24 hours.  Please note this prior to confirming that you are transferring these coins to your wallet here on Cryptopia."

What a simple solution that would have stopped many people from having lost money due to Cryptopia ... oh, wait, you said stopping us from losing coins (i.e. money) was the reason for the 200 confirmations.  I would have rather risked the 51% attacks and been able to trade quickly.

Other solution as you stated in a previous post - just don't list insecure coins and get rid of any coins that aren't secure and no one would have lost money on a 51% attack.  You caused your customers significant losses due to some prices dropping by 60-80% between the time the coin should have been able to be traded, and the time the coin actually will be available (giving even 20-30 minutes as a high end reasonable time frame with 20 confirmations on a slow block chain).
