Re: Starting My Crypto Prop Trading Firm
by

Hi All,

Which is the best jurisdiction to register a crypto prop trading firm?

I looked at Dubai but it is very expensive ~10k per year.

Does anyone has any suggestions?

Let me know!

Well a good thought though but looking at Dubai that things are quite expensive would be challenging Abit for you for the start and thus at the first instance you may not be able to make profit but with time you will, but then I'll advice you look out to other countries that is a way legal for registering a crypto prop trading firm.

I am pretty sure it will all be virtual. I dont think he will actually open an office and have traders come down and trade 12 hours a day. They did that back in the 90s or early 2000s but now they are all done from home.

Many of these people who work for prop firms don't do it fulltime anyways. They might be a stay a home parent and do it while they got some spare time. So he wont be actually paying any rent. Its more like licensing fees and such.

Bitcoin would have to take a huge pullback to get Michael Saylor to liquidate his positions but with these other companies it might not be possible. They are buying near the top and if it peaks and they are forced to liquidate it can cause a huge liquidation event kind of like Mtgox 2014, November 2018, Covid 2020, or FTX 2022 bankruptcy.

With Bitcoin there is always something to pop the bubble. Who knows, in 2026 it might be all these companies creating these treasury companies. I don't know how the rules are exactly and when and if they would need to liquidate their crypto however it doesnt seem like a safe investment to keep stocks in those companies when it starts to crack.

Besides a Lotto, ive never seen odds this high before. This must be some kind of record. Makes me wondering how many bets he must of took before he actually won. Because even though he bet $1, he could of lost $100,000 in total and just be a break-even.

Even though its pretty impressive. And a good advert for Stake by advertising it on X. People will see its possible to turn $1 USDT into $100,000 and start using Stake.

Man you got me.

I was scratching my head thinking what are you talking about since bitcoin hasn’t been anywhere near the prices you are talking about. Then I looked at the date and realized that some bot brought back this 14 year old topic back from the dead.

Some mod needs to lock threads like this.

I was reading a news article saying that bitcoins will not be safe once we have powerful quantum computers. Is there a good alternative way to store bitcoins safely in such a situation  ?

Quantum computers are years away of doing this. Go and ask AI and it will not even attempt to solve a Bitcoin private key because they know it’s highly unlikely.

You also need to understand that the first target of a quantum computing against a Bitcoin address won’t be a small user. There are bitcoins with billions of coins and those are going to be targeted first.

The merchants don’t care if you pay by bitcoin or not. Most likely it will be like it currently is, by accepting bitcoin as payment to boost business, it automatically converts to fiat and the merchant is paid in fiat. Been like that for years.

This is to boost sales for certain businesses. Say there are 2 coffee shops. One accepts bitcoin and the other doesn’t. You can only pay in bitcoin, which business will you go to?

For mine I think the worst was during a martingale strategy with dice. I dont remember what site it was, perhaps Primedice or some other popular dice site back in like 2015 or so.

Basically I think I lost like 1 BTC or 1.2 BTC due to my strategy. Back then Bitcoin wasn't worth as much so it didn't sting as much as it does today but it was still a bad loss.

To make a long story short, I got like 10 or 12 losses in a row and basically one roll made that BTC disappear. If you don't think 12 losses are in a row are possible, then you aren't listening.

0.04% is a very low fee!

That's is not actually trading, but it is some kind bet of future price of those assets.
Very interesting, never saw this in any other casino

It’s an interesting feature for real, not really having to click on buy or sell like in trading but instead, we have up or down here and a bet either direction.

What I don’t tend to understand here is, how would the multiplier apply?

The flat rate fee doesn’t seem to be very advantageous if you ask me. It’s deducted at every opening and it doesn’t matter if you loss the bet on trade direction or not but, when it comes to the PnL fee, you don’t get any deductions should you take a loss.

From what I found was that if you plan on losing alot OR you plan on winning alot of extremely small price moves then its worth it just using the PnL fee. Because there is no fees essentially if the trade is a loss, and if the trade is a win but you are exiting maybe $100 from entry (using Bitcoin as an example) then you are better off using PnL.

However if you are planning on taking profit at $500 or $1000 from your entry then you are better off using the flat fee. However I am pretty sure 99% of people taking bets there are doing it for the short term. So they are all using the former fee option.

Anyone see the Adin Ross clip on X

I assume he was playing Blackjack on Stake since it had the logo on the table and background. Apparently the dealer made a mistake dealing with the hand and it cost the bet $20K. From what I hear is that the dealer was new and ended up getting fired.

I don’t know when it happened I don’t watch his streams but it’s all over X. Wondering if anyone has more info. I don’t understand how he could have Mishanded the bet. One was 19 and the other was 17.

Re: Chances to buy Bitcoin back
by

on 22/07/2025, 06:12:12 UTC
Hi all

Looks like a short term draw back is in order for BTC.
I am thinking of selling to then buy back.
I am reluctant to do that, to be honest, before asking knowledgeable people about whether there still be Bitcoin waiting to be bought by me in next correction? I mean BTC availability due to its growing scarcity.
(Considering the volumes in which Black Rock, Michael Saylor and other big players are gobbling down BTC...)

Your thoughts please

Yeah a few years ago, I also assumed Bitcoin peaked, decided to sell it all and buy it back cheaper, I think it was when Bitcoin hit $2000 in 2017 or so. And guess what, it never returned to $2000, I think the lowest was $3500 during Covid or during that Nov 2018 crash.

You will never time the market correctly, you will sell way too early and miss a huge bull market like I did back in 2017. Its the same with stocks. Look at TSLA or NVDA, many assumed it would pullback and they rarely did. And those that sold missed out on huge huge gains.

Re: Youtuber said best time to sell bitcoin is when altcoins rally? Is this true?
by

In the past the way it worked was as follows.

Bitcoin pumps, then it seems to stall while altcoins seem to pump and then eventually they both top out.

What happens is the whales pump bitcoin first and while people are piling into bitcoin they get out and move into altcoins and then they pump the altcoins. So later altcoins rally and typically the whales move into stablecoins and then the market peaks.

This might repeat but there is no gaurantee.

Re: 14 years activating 80,000 BTC?
by
adaseb
on 20/07/2025, 07:08:46 UTC
Some ideas:

1. The owner of the 80k bitcoins is Satoshi himself.

2. The owner lost the private keys years ago, and just recently found them.

3. Is it just a coincidence the 8,000 bitcoins lost in the landfill by the owner James Howell is similar
to the number 80,000? Of course its ten times less than 80K but the numbers are similar,
but off by just one zero.

I dont think Satoshi mined any bitcoins that late. He mined lots in 2009 or early 2010 but when he noticed the network was supported to many nodes and miners, he stopped mining, its definately not him. I dont think Satoshi will ever sell any of his mined bitcoins.

Yeah its possible the private keys were lost and recovered however, why move all this money and why send $1B to an OTC exchange, why not sell $1M at first. Seems very strange.

Maybe in a couple weeks we will find out who this exactly is and why he is moving so much BTC.

First of all go see some accountant and found out exactly how much tax you would owe, you might be surprised it might not be that much. Especially if your work income is also low. Some countries have different rates for capital gains than others.

I don't think its worth it to move to another country, live there, get a citizenship, just to cash out crypto tax free. What about your friends and family back home? And if you come back, France will ask where you got this money from, what will you say then?

After you add up all the expenses and headaches you will realise you are better off just paying the taxes in your country and moving on with life instead of complicating things.

Yeah in school and everywhere, they keep saying its smart to save money because you will be debt free by buying houses and cars without loans. However this has been further from the truth in the last 5 years and previous 15 years due to Covid and Financial crisis which led to low rates.

You are betting getting into debt early instead of saving money and buying something with a larger downpayment or no loan at all. Reason is because due to inflation, savings were pretty much erodded. And those that bought these assets after covid were better off than those that were savings money hoping to buy things in full.

It might be the server but in general whenever this error happens and it can happen on any website, the way you can fix it is by clearing your cache and if that doesn't work then erase your cookies related to the site. Keep in mind you might lose a few settings this way but sometimes you got no choice. After you clear the cache and cookies try again and it should work.

If you don't want to clear your cache or cookies then just use a different browser and it should work. Usually this is a end user error and caused by some glitch somewhere on the users computer. If you tried all of this and it still happens then try the website on your phone using your cellular data. If you get the same error on your mobile, then most likely its the admin of the website which needs to fix the issue.

Re: Are You Fooled by Randomness?
by
adaseb
on 20/07/2025, 06:52:39 UTC
Well if you look at trading, especially on the low timeframes like 1M or so, thats pretty much considered random. There are many people who are buying and selling at random times of the day that the charts on the small timeframes basically look completely random, if you move up to 5M or 1H charts then its different because those have levels or resistance or support.

In dice or other games, the bets are considered random because they are generated with a hashed seed and the result outside the house edge is considered completely random, each and every roll is independent of the last. So you can have someone who bets for 10 years and gets 40 wins in a row like the monkey but its basically out of luck why he won and everything was random.

How on Earth does someone have a nine-digit account and not know anything about risk management?  Grin
Maybe he was right when he said he was just lucky. Probably traded some memecoins, got some nine digit figures through "luck", jumped into leverage trading thinking it would be the same and got rekt. Sometimes. I think people need to learn the hard way.

If he had risk management, he would of never reached nine-digits to begin with.

He made crazy amounts of money with meme coins. If he was careful with his money he probably would of took profits too early and never became a millionaire.

I still think its crazy to enter a billion dollar position and post it in public for everybody to see. This is risky because its easy for them to run your stops which they obviously did and a few weeks later we hit new ATH. Was he stop-run? Who knows but you should never post your large position like that because in the past whenever there was a large person to liquidate who was close to their liquidation price, usually their stops got run.

Re: Advice on platforms to trade from with leverage....?
by
adaseb
on 19/07/2025, 06:09:07 UTC
Since you are from the UK, you might get issues trading with leverage. This is an issue with any countries including the USA.

If you are depositting fiat then you need to use an exchange like Binance but most will only let you trade spot. There are some unregulated exchanges that might let you trade but you will need to deposit crypto, cant deposit fiat. And I would avoid those because they can run off with your deposit.

Like others said, you can try using a DEX. But with a DEX you need crypto somehow, so you will need to make an account, buy some stable coins and withdraw those and then you can try a dex. However keep in mind if leverage trading is restricted in your country, many Defi platforms will have a ToS disclaimer and prevent letting you trade based on your ip address.

Re: Is it Ideal for parents to demand rent from their child who stays with them?
by

on 19/07/2025, 06:04:35 UTC
This depends largely on culture and where and how you are raised. I think with most foreign families, you live with your parents until you get married. Its usually to save money and be able to buy a house. The parents never charge the kids rent.

Some families in North America I heard that they will start to charge their kids rent when they turn 18. Maybe its to convince them to leave and get a place of their own or its to maybe finally pay back all the money that the parents spent on them. Either way, with housing being so expensive these days, many kids have no choice but to live with their parents, even if it means paying a little rent.

Michael Jackson is no surprise. I think he blew like $50Million a year on crap. He went to some antique store and bought a bunch of crap he never used. Pointed at a few things and bought alot of stuff he didn't need or ever use. You would think how its possible to end up with $500M in debt? Well he was very popular. He made tons of money. So lenders were willing to give him money. Most likely none of them would forsee that he would pass away and not be able to generate income anymore.
