I have an avenue for recovery of my coins that I am now pursuing. It will take a while. So if the OP has not recovered his coins and is still active, feel free to reach out. I will start a separate post about this once I have made some progress.
Usually exchanges send you a mail and give a window for withdrawal of the tokens before they close up for good. If you didn't do that time try contacting via Twitter or customer care if it's still available .

It's been a year and obviously most of there staff and social media/email are already inactive now. There website was already for sale so it means that you have zero chance to contact any person from exchange. You should move on and stop chasing them because they already gone for good. Take this as a lesson learned for leaving funds on exchange.

Legally there can be no way because the clearly mentioned about the time limit to withdraw all users funds, and even if you want to take this to legally you need to spend huge so make sure you have huge amount to take this case.
Its impossible to retrieve or getting those coins back stucked into that account and probably all of those coins that had been locked down had already been used by the owner itself.
They do gave out timeframe on pulling out your funds at least into their platform and since he missed it then he do really had some mistake too.
When it comes to legal actions or whatsoever then its somehow pointless unless if we do talk tons of btc or alt value on here.

I don't want to discourage you and your feeling but chances are pretty dull.
Thanks for the response. I have a few leads to chase, there may still be a way to make contact. Other than that it may require legal action, I hope it does not come to that as it is pretty expensive, but if it is the only way left then will have to go that route. Maybe someone has some other ideas and shares them.

Did you get any luck getting your coins, I HODLED over altcoin winter so left my account alone, and had alot of life troubles to deal with in 2019. I only just found out that I can't get access. Now the freshdesk link has gone too. I wonder if there will be anyone else. Please do let me know if you have any ideas.

I had a really hard time in 2019 and an issue accessing my account and with alt winter I did not log into the liqui platform. 2020 with lockdown has been tough too, but now I can't access my account and on searching it seems that the website liqui.io has gone. I looked for them on freshdesk but that has gone too. Has anyone got any idea how I can get in touch with them. Has anyone else got this problem. If you see this liqui exchange, please help me out am pretty desperate here..
