How do I get the 4.0 wallet to retry importing my 3.0 wallet? It crashed the first time.

Delete your data folder and start wallet again.

Crashed again the same way.

Here's the end of the debug.log file:

Is there a problem with the ssd/hdd?  Seems very strange. What system configuration doyou use?

I don't have any problems with my SSD. If I don't import my 3.0 wallet, the new 4.0 wallet syncs fine and no problems. The issue seems to be when I start from scratch and import my 3.0 wallet.

I'm on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.4.

Do you have enough free space on your hard drive?

Yesterday on navcoin.org was beta or final ??

I have: Navcoin Core version 4.0.0.0-7da8565-dirty (54 bit)

I sent you a private message to check your debug.log file.

Sorry but who are you anyway ?
For me You are random guy as far as i know i wont sent you any files I do not know what they contain.
If you are nav team member make them add your bitcointalk profile link to OP so people can tell who you are because right now you are random guy with 16 posts who want files from me.
Sorry no offence.

I'm member of the development team, i've been involved in the core update, sorry for the confusion. OP should be updated.

You can check team section at www.navcoin.org or my GitHub profile at https://github.com/aguycalled

You can calculate the reward amount you should get following the protocol like this:

(0.5*10000000*(((Transaction Value * (Transaction time - Previous transaction time) / 1000000)*1000000)/100000000)*(24*60*60))/365

If you think the amount does not match, I'd invite you to join our Slack so we can check in detail what's going on. Nothing changed between 3.x and 4.0, so I'd say you were lucky and had some old unspent outputs.

I will watch the behaviour for another day or two and then see if it worth reporting further.

I also noticed, since you mentioned transaction output that indeed this is the reason. Whereas my previous stakes before were all with one or two chunks of coins of 500 - 1000 total, those new stake transactions use 99 inputs with total amounts over 11000 coins.

So maybe when I run out of mature coins I won't stake again for very long. Not sure its a good thing for the network. It must be the case that something changed with the new wallet, even if it only affected me. The odds of it being random are mind boggling.

And to answer @colvano, I stake 24/7 with only a few minutes downtime per week for maintenance. It's not like I had all those coins in an offline wallet all this time.

You wouldn't stop staking, but would get less reward (the proportional part).

I've sent you a private message to check this in detail.

Nav Coin is the first cryptocurrency to be fully anonymous. There are a lot of partially anonymous coins, Nav Coin is different because its encryption software completely disconnects and randomises the transaction data, removing it even from an IP address. The anonymous system is built using bitcoins famous block chain technology and uses a subchain to process anonymous transactions.

Has this feature been achieved ?

Also what are the coin specifications ? and premine and is the premine amount public ?
Please send the link to block explorer  also as can not find that

Please answer this

Yours Faithfully
Satchel

You can use Cryptoid as Block Explorer:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/

There's no premine in NavCoin. We will try to publish some article about our fundamentals next week to try to clear all this doubts.

Thanks for your support! Smiley

Is staking working correctly?
I just got a stake of 42, and before that a stake of 12 within less than 2 hours. Both were the highest I have ever seen by far

Another thing I just noticed. The stake info in the dashboard counts orphan blocks as valid in it's total stake figure

I don't like to bring this up again so soon, but 4 stakes in a row I got double digit coins generated going as high as 60 NAV on a single stake. This is happening from the moment I switched to new wallet.

I checked the block explorer, they are legit and also inspected a few dozen more recent blocks. All those had normal stake numbers

I have no problem making 20x more that I would expect to, but I am concerned there is something wrong.

This is not an April fool's joke or anything like that btw

its not deterministic like that. Stake varies considerably everyday and even the whole year you don't know what you end up with. Even if on average it is 5% for the whole of the money supply.

But yeah, all you need to do is send nav to wallet and leave it on. You need to have it on all the time to maximize profit

by this do you mean to just have the wallet open on your desktop? or are there any other settings to change in the new wallet?

If it is protected by passphrase, You need to unlock it to the staking mode! Watch out to only unlock for staking and not for sending,  for your own security.
How do i unlock it to the staking model? I don't seen anything in Preferences to allow this.

Click on the lock just at the right of STAKING or using the menu option Unlock Wallet for Staking under Settings.

You can download a copy of a 4.0-compatible blockchain from here:

New wallet. "Not staking because you don't have mature coins". How long will it take until it starts to stake?

Coins need 2 hours to mature.

Got the new wallet.
love it
1. why is navcoin still not doing that well on the poloniex charts
2. I bought 200 navcoin via PayPal via the navcoin official website store - where are they?

1. Ratio between lowest and highest point in terms of price during last month is 5 + price is nicely holding after release. Probably your lack of satisfaction is related to an excessive expectation. Personally I'm satisfied holding.

2. Did you verify your identity?

Best,

alex

Anyone able to assist for the new wallet not connecting?

Running Windows Server 2012 R2. The wallet is open and just says Connecting to NavCoin for a few hours now. Also added additional server IP's from the server list. My other coin wallets are connecting/working but this one.

Thanks!

Hey,

Sorry to hear you are having problems connecting. I'd suggest you to join our slack, there it'd be easier to identify the source of the issue.

Cheers.

Will it work with the old blockchain data or do I need to resync from scratch?

In case it's the latter, is the full blockchain available on the site in a compatible format?

Old blockchain data is not compatible with this release. I'm uploading right now a bootstrapped copy. Will post links as soon as it's done Smiley

NEW wallet GUI looks soo good. Wallet sync is rly fast. !

same here opdated fast and a lot of connections.
I'm having a problem downloading the NAVPI torrent though there is no SEED and one guy has 99.9% and the rest have 66% like me I'm using my bandwith to help the upload but without a complete image this wont work.
(I'm in Europe)

I've just added an extra server seeding. Should be faster now.

Cheers.

You can have both of them installed at the same time, but not run them together.

4.0 is backwards compatible with old wallets.
