Bitcoin's Tokyo Whale (not to be confused with that Tokyo Whale) revealed on Wednesday that he has sold off about $400 million in bitcoin and bitcoin cash since late September.

Kobayashi made his disclosure in the report from the 10th creditors' meeting, which took place Wednesday.

In the report, he said he'd started selling off the bitcoin and bitcoin cash to raise money for disbursements that the trustee will soon need to begin making as bankruptcy claims are being evaluated, per Bloomberg.

And it was this guy – Tokyo whale and Mt.Gox bankrutpcy trustee who sold almost $400 million worth of BTC, some of it at the very bottom on Feb 6th. He crashed the market by 75% by selling the bitcoins in couple of rounds.

The MT Gox trustee has sold half a billion worth of bitcoin and bitcoin cash between December 2017 and February 2018 it was revealed today.

He sold the first batch of 6k bitcoin on December 22nd, sending price from nearly $16,000 to a brief low of $10,800. Then he waited for market to recover and sold another batch of 8k bitcoins on January 17th. Which again produced the same effect – crashed the bitcoin price.

But he is not done yet – he does another sell on January 31st, this time it was around 6k bitcoins. But vast majority of bitcoins was sold on February 6th which implies that he actually tried to crash the market by selling at the bottom.

And guess what – the market absorbed it and jumped back up to $10k.

But what is worrisome is that this same guy has another 180k BTC up his sleeves, that he is looking to sell in the upcoming period and repay the creditors and users who lost their bitcoin in Mt.Gox hack.

This case makes it the fourth time for Mt.Gox to directly or indirectly crash the bitcoin price. First time was hack in 2011, then a DDos in 2013, 2014 is when they went bankrupt and now this sell off.

And as we have said, this trustee has another 180k bitcoins that will probably cause similar crash – that would be 5th or even 6th if he does it in separate batches.

Nevertheless, bitcoin has showed admirable resilience in spite of all the sell offs and this actually indicates that once Mt.Gox saga is over, bitcoin price should skyrocket and reach new highs as many have predicted.

I first heard about DeepOnion in December and I did not take it seriously because I thought it was already too late to get involved. Now I regret that decision because I could have made some real progress by now. The second time I read about it, I decided to get involved, but what attracted me the most was the "free airdrops". I put quotes because things have changed now, rules have changed and you can see the complete rules here.

I wish I had been there from the beginning when free was still free, I could be driving that $Onion Lambo by now. Anyway, I am glad I joined this project because I believe it has great potential considering that it's a privacy coin and these will be the most prominent this year and the next as governments are cracking down on cryptos.

Like any other coin, the markets have really given it to the $Onion, however, I see this as an opportunity to get in, if you are still sitting on the fence. The price is just right and with still about 7 airdrops, you could earn a pretty amount of free onions before airdrops are history.
I keep increasing the size of my holdings whenever I get a few extra bucks and I think this will pay out for me come 6 months from now.

I don't claim to have a crypto crystal ball, but in my opinion, if you want to get involved, the time is now.

The SEC said in a statement Wednesday that online platforms trading digital assets that are considered securities need to register with the agency.
Bitcoin quickly fell 10 percent to below $10,000 amid the concerns about increased regulation.
"The SEC continues to draw a line in the sand between securities and non-securities but without going so far as to name names," said Spencer Bogart, partner at Blockchain Capital. But "of all crypto assets, bitcoin seems least likely to be deemed a security — by a long shot."

The largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization dropped nearly 10% on Coinbase in a sudden move after the SEC statement stoked fears that tightening regulation could restrict future trading. Bitcoin fell to near $9,500 but had recovered slightly to $9,969.
Experts expect a crack down and it will focus more on altcoins than btc. Bitcoin has a great fall around 50% from ath because of the news about regulation.
I think there will be a fall again because of the fear of these regulation..

I think you guys have it wrong. In Hong Kong the markets actually improve just before CNY in expectation of a better year ahead. The falls we have experienced are due to FUD, fake news, BS and the like. The market was growing too fast, and was overdue a correction. The FUD continues and the crappy ICO's need to stop. The market will recover, but not just yet and definately not because of CNY.

Hi everyone, as it was Chinese NY on tbe last Friday I was wandering what peoples thoughts were on its possible effect if any on the market place. It is very simple, of course you don't have to keep all of your tokens or coins in your exchange account. The best way is to use the official wallet of the coin or the token as it will be more safe and secured,so don't worry about it and keep safe and use it not only for one coin but foe all of your different coins or tokens.

Look man you will find many people who says that you can earn bitcoin from faucets and some similar ways. But let me tell you that these ways are not so sufficient and you will not get anything but a very few Satoshi. The best way is to buy it directly or to mine it yourself any way else will just waste your time.

look, mate, I think no one can say a clear opinion about this situation now. it is very hard to expect what will happen in the following days. but as for me, I am not happy about these events and I am really worried about it.

now I feel worried about the future of bitcoin and crypto in general because every time there was a price correction I saw most people not worry about the price and they all had the same opinion about it, they all said to wait and hold your coins or buy new more, but now I see that there are different opinions about it, that makes me really afraid of what happens now. is it serious that guys that it is over or what?
