Why is there so much skepticism around DeFi?
by
aima55
on 14/12/2024, 08:48:14 UTC

While I understand the concerns, I see DeFi as one of the few truly global investment opportunities available today. It's not necessarily the future of all finance, but it serves as a valuable alternative to traditional financial systems. For those of us who already have access to conventional financial tools (stocks, bonds, traditional banking), DeFi offers unique opportunities for portfolio diversification and higher-risk, higher-reward investments.

We're starting to see interesting projects that combine meme culture with actual utility - like how the classic Stonks meme from 2017 is now being used to make DeFi tracking easier on Solana. This kind of approach could help make DeFi more approachable for newcomers.

However, DeFi's real transformative potential lies in providing financial services to those who are currently underserved by traditional banking. The wave of scams during the crypto summer severely damaged trust in the space - many early DeFi enthusiasts who experienced multiple rug pulls have abandoned the ecosystem entirely. This is frustrating because DeFi as a concept still holds immense potential.

The challenge now is: How do we rebuild trust and attract both previous participants and newcomers?

The uncertain future of exchange tokens
by
aima55
on 11/12/2024, 14:50:52 UTC

Exchange tokens emerged as significant performers during previous bull markets, with their value proposition tied to platform utility and benefits. Early success stories like BNB and UNI paved the way, showing impressive returns based on their clear use cases and growing platform adoption.

However, the landscape has shifted dramatically with increasing regulatory scrutiny forcing many exchanges to reconsider their token strategies. L

In this context, BGB token has become a fascinating case study. Despite the broader trend of exchanges reducing token utilities, BGB has shown remarkable performance with a 300% surge in just 48 hours, climbing to rank 34 on CoinMarketCap. https://ibb.co/6rgSxyR.
https://ibb.co/BV9vCSL

The key question remains: Can exchange tokens adapt and thrive in an increasingly regulated environment, or is BGB's recent performance just a temporary anomaly in a declining sector?

Confused on rotating profits. I’m scared my portfolio size is way too big.
by

on 07/12/2024, 17:00:16 UTC
Hi guys, m back again. As you all know, this is my second cycle. In my first cycle, I didn't have much to invest, but this time I have $3,000 spread across 20 different coins. I invested $250 in some of them, but not all.

Yesterday, one of my investments gave me a profit, which I'd invested around $250 in. It grew to $500, so I took a $250 profit and invested it in Turbo.

I have a few questions for you:

1. Is it okay to rotate my profit into another coin, or should I invest it in a stable coin or leave it in USDC?
2. Do you think investing in 20 coins is too much? Should I reduce my portfolio?

I'd love to hear your opinions on this. Thank you!

Re: Evaluating Recent Airdrops from Telegram Mining Projects
by

on 22/11/2024, 12:01:22 UTC
How exactly do you define the recent airdrops people are getting from these Telegram mining projects? I mean, it’s obviously not dust to some, but on average, people usually get $5-$30. Some are already getting frustrated seeing what they got from Catizen and Hamster, as both are described as ‘airdrop savers’ by some, but it’s clearly not the case. I also learned that even MemeFI is getting ready for the market, as the project hit the premarket a yesterday .

People should learn one thing to do if you have time with these telegram airdrops. Is to sign up for them. Do some tasks if you can. Then wait for airdrop. As soon as they, list the coin, enable withdrawal and allow buying/selling on exchanges. Sell it. This is what i will do immediately i claim my Memefi, Transfer it to Bitget and sell it immediately as it will start to tank over the next days as more and more people will start to cash out. Will most likely buy back after a day or two to lock on Poolx for some extra. Thou, It's very unlikely the meme coin will get back its highest value ever again. The chances are infinitesimal.

PEPE pump before mother of altcoin ETH is crazy

So this time around Memecoins are going to kickstart the alt season. I know y’all dont like to hear this but that’s the truth. So. Pepe has been surging. Ok well steady climbing. But honestly would ANYONE have though it could even have slightly lasted this long. So much so. Could it go the way of the OG meme, Dogecoin. I had like 23M PEPE which I brought for $40.00 along time ago. Happened to check and it was ~$300. We already have 2 T1 cexs ready to list it and the dual listings are expected to boost PEPE's market visibility and accessibility.

The very name should suggest Bitcoin is not for whales only, you can hold far smaller amounts then a cent and still call it saving.   With a small amount you will have to wait years for a bigger gain but that doesn't make it incorrect.

Ideally Bitcoin should be involving everyone and allowing anyone to have usable amounts available to spend easily.  When BTC is available to all it will be a much higher price I think then even now, we're still on a journey.

Be careful to avoid hoping for short term gains, BTC can move fast but you will do best using regularly for years.   I think BTC can achieve 100k in future and that wont be a ceiling either where as Dollar is certain in its losses most people should hold a bit of both at least.
Thanks fam. I really appreciate all of you here. You guys are so nice, thought I will get bashed for this. I actually have been here for three years. These few days got me thinking maybe I invested in thr wrong coins but i made some profits cant complain. I was expecting something more but I guess it’s because i didnt put in big capital like all those influencers on X. Nevertheless, i am grateful

Hi Bitcoiners
Hello fellow Bitcoin enthusiasts! I want to share a personal story and seek your honest advice. Previously, I thought investing in BTC was only for whales and that small investors like myself wouldn't see significant gains. However, yesterday I saw a tweet from someone who invested $500 in BTC when it was at $82,000 and now their investment is worth $3,000! I felt regretful for not investing earlier and wished I had converted my money to BTC. Now, I'm considering a new strategy: if BTC's price drops a bit, I'll invest the money I have and convert it to BTC. Please share your honest thoughts - is this a good idea or not?

Bitcoin is not a quick and get rich scheme perhaps investment in Bitcoin shouldn't be done under pressure, you must understand the level of your risk profile towards whatever investment you want to get involve, it is a wrong for newbie to start having trading mindset because it can be emotionally devastating which is not good for a newbie, don't get worried for any unrealistic hypes you see online but rather with dca strategy of accumulating Bitcoin you can be buying Bitcoin at fraction with an amount you can be comfortable with either weekly or monthly irrespective of the price points without waiting, with consistency you can accumulate a reasonable size of Bitcoin over time while holding for as long as necessarily and possibly 4 to 10 years or more.
Thank you so much for this. I suck at maths, I didnt know how to do the calculations. Now I understood everytime

Re: The Zero-Knowledge Revolution in Ethereum's Scalability
by

on 04/11/2024, 19:57:11 UTC
Checking what scalability is really in DEFI. Everyone is all about big grammar and all just found a cool project which practicalizes how it really works, Its name is Zircuit,  standing at the forefront of Ethereum's scalability solutions, offering not just faster and cheaper transactions but also pioneering security features and innovative financial utilities like liquid restaking. As the blockchain community continues to explore and expand the capabilities of blockchain technology, projects like Zircuit highlight a promising future where scalability does not compromise on security or decentralization.

what are your thoughts on exploring Zircuit's technology in real-world applications?

Reminds me of the most sought-after Wormhole drop. Project hasn't been making headlines since their airdrop. Just one loophole in the code and they're done. Saw it on Bitget’s pre market, looks like they are listing soon. I hope unlike other new protocols they actually spend on audits and security more.

Re: Why Kucoin charging fees on deposit even tho they claim they don't?
by

on 02/11/2024, 17:49:29 UTC
So, now they're now leveling up from charging high withdrawals to charging deposits fees now?

I haven't seen any post about this yet here, Just to share my experience, I've been using Kucoin for a year alongside several other exchanges... To count the fees, if I deposit 10K usdt here, they will take 10 USDT fees, which is absurd, tbf.
They've already stated on their official website, that they don't charge any fees, but what is this then?
I can definitely see this being a turnoff for sure, and the fact that they don't explain to you how you could possibly avoid fees, or substantially lower them is pretty shady as well. Other cexs like Bitget, bybit and others arent charging deposit fees why only kucoin??

Re: News has it that Min Lin Is Now The Business Officer To Drive Growth In America.
by

on 01/11/2024, 11:45:12 UTC
I have been observing the Crypto industry lately and it is becoming more stable than what we usually thought of it. At some points, some doubted and said some exchanges can't last long and some other things, but we see the reverse was the case. They are thriving.

Just recently, I got to see on the news that Min Lin is now Bitget's Chief Business Officer, this is another great move because he has an extensive experience and strategic vision for growth, particularly in Latin America, and this shows the level of commitment of these exchanges to thrive well and stay relevant than what I thought. I expect to keep seeing things like this till crypto is widely adopted all over the world. I believe I can now ask, what do you think about such developments? https[Suspicious link removed]cutive-to-drive-growth-in-latin-america.
Good observation! The industry definitely seems to be finding its footing, and seeing experienced leaders step into key roles could mean more growth ahead. Curious to see how these moves shape things over time

Heard a lot about Min Lin on Reddit, how he has achieved success for business. Pretty sure, he will lead Bitget's nationwide development to achieve maximum growth, including negotiating and supporting partnerships.

Re: What's in it for crypto on this halloween?
by

on 30/10/2024, 11:00:46 UTC
Advantages on Halloween? For those who enter trading contests... or other contests then it will get a prize while the correlation with bitcoin may have little effect, in this Halloween party may be partially celebrated as a bitcoin party in its carving.

We can't guess at the end of the year but at least $100K is the hope of many, right? But we never know how far bitcoin will touch at the end of this year whether it is $80K or $100K it has equally surpassed its ATH.

Remember in 2021 at any gathering; #crypto was discussed with excitement. Went to a Halloween party last night and the topic didn’t even come up. We are still very very early this cycle. Thou we might see an influx of new users joining in now that bull run is back and cexs some fun things to bring in more users. Seen bitget, binance to name a few making people to create horrible images to earn few satoshis. Anyways, i believe exciting times are nearly upon us. btc hitting 100k. Trump wins and the magic happens.

Re: Should I save or trade my SOL?
by

⭐ Merited by NotATether (11)
What do you guys think, if I have perhaps 100 $SOL which do you think is better Staking it for 2 to 3 days with a 10% APR or actually trading the SOL myself for that same time period. Personally, I think the savings might be safer and more predictable than the trading option. If I was to trade on Spot, it would probably be safer too, but I wouldn't make as much profit as the savings, but I wouldn't make significant losses either. If i trade on futures I probably might make more profit, but I come with greater risks

I think some exchanges offer around 10% or more in savings deals, what do you guys think

I actually just went through this exact same thought process with my SOL!

Was doing spot trading for a while and yeah, while you can catch some good moves, it's honestly stressful watching charts all day. Made some gains but also missed out on some sleep 😅

For 100 SOL, I'd personally lean towards staking, I was originally staking on Binance getting around 10% APR, which was okay. Made the switch to BGSOL just yesterday after seeing 30% APR on solayer

What I like about the staking route is you can still trade a portion if you want - like maybe stake 80% and keep 20% for trading? That's what I do now. The staked portion is earning pretty well and I use the rest when I see a clear trading opportunity.

Plus the nice thing is there's no lockup period, so if you see a really good trading opportunity, you can always switch strategies. Been working well for me so far.

Just my 2 cents based on what I've tried.

Re: Is Solana still Worth buying??
by
aima55
on 25/10/2024, 09:56:44 UTC
After end of bull run, Solana had started lossing its price and it waas worth $12 in November, 2022. And till August, 2023 solana was below $20. Many were talking about this is end of solana, it'll never pump and then something interesting happened to it and solana pumped 3/4 times from its position. And still its more than $185+ .many people still thinks solana would pump more. So they keep buying solana with such believe.
What do you think? Is Solana still Worth buying cause price is tooo much pump already.

I need someone else who bought SOL under $100 to tell me what our exit plan is. I feel like I’m just duct taped to this rocket going into space with no idea how high this thing is going 😂Seems like the LST added by exchanges is the driver for the lastest pump we are seeing on Solana.. Kinda crazy to see 12.9M SOL staked on BGSOL already. Looks like more people are catching on.

Re: Which exchange has grown from nothing to big thing?
by
aima55
on 25/10/2024, 09:55:58 UTC
Yeah. I wonder how some of the exchanges I used got popular rapidly.
Although, I think it's because of the support they mostly give to projects with big communities. Or probably the products they offer their users which have made the users refer more users. There are lots of factors behind it and people have different factors involved.

It’s all about marketing bro. Last bull run we saw how exchanges like cryptodotcom were aggressive on marketing. I can see other exchanges following suit. Bitget, Bybit, Okx are becoming popular these days. And i think the reason they’re popular because it lists a good amount of coins.. The former is becoming the CDC of last bull ru. especially with the Laliga partnership and recently hit 4M followers on X. it's crazy to see what a journey they did. i remember when they were at 1M.

Airdrops Getting Tougher: Is the Effort Still Worth the Reward?
by
aima55
on 15/10/2024, 23:12:16 UTC
Honestly, airdrops are becoming more difficult to farm, especially the popular ones. I’m starting to get concerned. The Eigen airdrop was great, I ended up with over $2K just for using the network, without even knowing about the airdrop in advance. It wasn’t as hyped, so not many people were prepared for it.

The more people that prepare for these airdrops, the smaller the rewards. Take Get Grass, for example, they used my internet 24/7 for months, and in return, I got 6 cents... I’m frustrated. I saw it trading in pre-market at $0.96, and if it lists at $1, my 6 Grass would be worth $6. Sure, it’s free, but it hardly feels worth the effort.

I’ve been involved since epoch 3 and honestly expected a bit more. Does anyone share similar thoughts with me or you are all bullish?

Re: What's Fuss About BTC-FI Projects?
by
aima55
on 11/10/2024, 14:25:17 UTC
BTC has long been the king, more of a digital gold standard for security and decentralization. It has been seen as a store of value, I agree. Then sometime last year there began a buzz around Bitcoin ordinals, CORE network activities towards bitcoin hash delegated to enhance security, and BTC staking becoming possible. Now with the emergence of BTC-FI launchpad pioneered by OGLong project, would buidlers and devs now prefer working with bitcoin dApps than other existing alternatives? How would it affect Bitcoin adoption and the expected bull?

I believe the Bitcoin ecosystem will soon revive. I’ve always been bullish on BRC-20 since it’s built on Bitcoin. With Coinbase planning to add Runes, I think we’ll see FOMO from various exchanges. That said, OGLG’s long-term outlook is bullish. Being the first community token in the BTCFi space with a hybrid-culture narrative, it’s going to set a trend in the market for true decentralization.

Restaking protocols seem to be what's keeping DeFi alive lately.
by
aima55
on 11/10/2024, 10:10:45 UTC
Guys, it seems like restaking protocols are becoming the biggest narrative in ethereum.

Before, I used to be so much confused about staking, restaking, liquid staking concepts. But when I used them, it was clear.
I have been smashing my head with this eigenlayer narative for about 4 months now mainly on puffer, an Ethereum liquid restaking protocol built on EigenLayer. Being on the puffer boat for a while and looks like they have something for the community. Thou, i still cant decide if i want to put my eth into all of these restaking contracts.

Anyways, i’ve been thinking about this lately, is Restaking good or dangerous for the Ethereum ecosystem. I read about it somewhere last time that If anything goes wrong with restaking, it could have spiral effect and could devastate the price of ETH.

Greed vs. Innovation: Can Web3 Gaming Survive Its Own Hype?
by
aima55
on 01/10/2024, 14:01:23 UTC
Web3 gaming has seen a considerable rise in financial investment in recent years.
Decentralized gaming apps have a ton of promise given the gaps in the Web2 and Web3 game ecosystems.

As more individuals become aware of the NFT user experience, there would be an increasing number of people enjoying Web3 games.

I have heard a very good feedback for Unioverse. Its ability to support custom game content & offer ecosystem benefits can really drive growth for creators, devs & publishers alike.
https://coinmarketcap.com/community/articles/66fb70d96cc4831f9cdf1498/

Though, my fear with the "crypto-gaming" space is that it will be destroyed by greed before we even really get started.

There is so much potential and awesome things that could happen but we need to focus and stay true to our roots.  The crypto aspects and NFTs need to be a side feature or function ... not the entire focus of the game.

Re: How common is the zero-knowledge proof concept?
by
aima55
on 24/09/2024, 16:31:14 UTC
I understand that there are no users on the Ethereum blockchain and we are trying to beat the transaction speed such that it will be as fast as opening the app on your smart phone. But I am yet to see a wide application of zero-knowledge proof which, although I have seen in Scroll and some other tokens, especially the latest ones aiming to solve security and speed issues, but how well do you think people will cope with this way of making faster and safer transactions?

ZK rollups provide tangible benefits in the form of transaction throughput and data confidentiality, these L2 solutions are more of a foundational technology than a fleeting trend. Just look at scroll, I’ve been farming for a while now. I’m impressed with the work, and I think they’re really stepping up their game. It would be much better if they expanded to the Bitcoin ecosystem to stand out and leverage some of the features there. But we will see what will happen after the airdrop is completed as they are already on BItget’s pre market. Thou, i believe it will disappear after everyone milks it.
