Re: Ebay/paypal scam

Hi guys, this thread is very interesting. Also thankyou to everyone for brining it up.

My story is simply this. Ive been offering 'scrypt coin mining services' on ebay for the last 3-4 motnhs. Let me just say that not all ebay buyers are scammers. Although there are the few occassional(and usually quite large purchases, of my small $8.50 for 3 Hours of 80Mh/s mining listing for example) ebay users, whos accounts have been hacked(apparently) and ive already provided the service to the ebay buyer, by which point the ebay buyer then, uses paypal to create an unauthorised claim against my account.
Paypal will not protect ebay sellers offering virtual coin related listings on ebay, no matter they're years of completely legitimtae selling activity on eBay(since 2003 in my case), they're parent company. Im also a power seller and i still have to wait 21 days, to receive my funds via Paypal, because eBay have placed this regulation, which paypal customer service advised me of.
eBay customer service are still looking into this matter(yeah sure).

Sooooo, my question is. Does anyone know of any payment service that protects ebay sellers who list mining services?

Or are all ebay sellers, selling mining services and virtual coins, simply doomed to have to take, the occassional financial hit, now and again?

and when i mean again. I mean 6 times in 2 months out of the 30 transactions made by ebay buyers, whom have used my services.

Most of which were the larger purchases by the way.(So be cautious of those)

How can eBay allow this apparent hacking of theyre accounts to happen? Also, how do these "hackers", not only get the ebay buyers ebay user account details and they're paypal account details aswell?
Isnt that strange in itself?

Any help would be unbelievably appreciated guys.

cheers guys
Alex

I thought so. What I'm talking about is more in reference to the WU, not the physical miner, which is what this thread and your OS is all about. Apologies to yourself & everyone BTW for simply adding rubbish, to a really good thread

Thanks mate. I get ya. Example wafflepool suggests making ur password based on ur hashing power. Being mine is between 64mhs and 128mhs, they suggest setting password to d=32768.  Is that the sort of thing your referring to also? Or am I goin off topic now?

Hi guys, Ive setup the new firmware and it seems to be running smooth at 1320mhz, which most people agree on this thread, is a good stable point for each module.

Only question i have is, whats the best setting to place the DEVICE INITIAL DIFF?

Ive set mine at 128 for the moment, but I'd appreciate any feedback/explanation which anyone may have.
For example, what setting is most suitable and what exactly is the 'DEVICE INITIAL DIFF', in the first place?

cheers again guys, appreciate all the help so far.

Hi Emdje,

I know this is a really newb question. But what ip address is the new firmware set at? Only asking because my mates placed our internet connection on 192.168.2.... rather than the usual 192.168.1 and am having trouble working out what ip the firmware web interface is set at?

Ive tried 1.125, 1.136, 1.106, 1.163 and im out of guesses now. lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers mate

oops, forgot to add..... One last question mate.

Crytptalk mentioned the Scrypta OC firmware I have the link for, mentioned above, doesn't require extra cooling for the a2 chips because the firmware apparently controls the temperature of the a2 chips to prevent overheating.

Question: Does your latest update to your firmware, do the same, so I won't have to build an airconditioner pipping assembly to feed the air con air straight to my miners intake fans?

The temperature is controlled by decreasing the amount of work going to the processors.
Just try it out, see what the hash rate (poolside) does and decide what to do.

Hear ya loud and clear mate. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it

Hey peeps, whats the maximum and also average temparture you want your individual cores to sit at, when overclocking to 1300mhz for example?

I was chatting to afew mates, they think maximum 60 degrees celsius. And thats cut off point. So therefore, an average of 45 degrees celsius wouldnt be too stressful on these asic cores would it?

Hi Emdje,

If I were to over clock my A2 5 module 75mh/s miner to Max 1300mhz. Would it be fine to run it, directly under an air-conditioner sitting on 20 degrees Celsius, without making any changes or adding any heatsinks etc to the miner?

All I will do is keep the lid or top of the miner opened.

There may be a way to setup the miner and the wall mounted aircon, so the aircon, points directly at the intake fans, on the device.

Although will aircon air, blowing over the top style cooling, be just as effective?

Thanks again for this great IMG file. Appreciate your work greatly. Smiley

I'm not sure I would take the lid off.  Essentially you will be letting air go up, yes hot air goes up but the airflow then would not be making it as easily to end of the blades.

Be careful if you are overclocking and thinking about doing things such as leaving case top off.  Most likely it would be better with case top on and extra cooling going in from front or adding extra exhaust.  And of course temperature of room is a factor.

Thanks for the advise mate. That sounds very logical. More reason for me to set up the office to suit the miners needs. keeping a close look at the temperatures of each module.

Thanks again Smiley

I am a bit confused to as how this exactly works. They say we are mining the most profitable coin but usually the exchanged coins take like 8hrs + to get from immature to be available for payout. This brings a question in mind does the coin remain that much profitable at the time of exchange? Cause it seems that clevermining is being clever and I am only getting the same payout as I was on coinshift even though the profitably here seems higher at least from the stats being provided my clevermining... I may just be plain wrong as I am new to all this but can anyone please explain to me if I am calculating somthing wrong here?

That's exactly the information I am after too. Simply put is the altcoin most profitable at the time of exchange? Or maturity etc...

Yeah no worries mate. I will get onto that. Was just trying to speed up the process. Sorry if I ticked ya off mate.

Im just after some informative and advise from people unassociated with clevermining.com

Hey guys,

I just have two questions about clevermining.com

1. how do you get in contact with them?

2. (The question I would've asked clevermining.com contact(if I could find it)??
So exactly how are the scrypt coins calculated for they're values, during the auto-switch mining, in a 24 hour period before payout in BTC?

For example, is there a time thats set for Daily payout on the site?

Also, say hypothetically the daily payout is every 24 hours, would that mean if a particular crytpo coin was profiting well druing the first 8 hours of the 24 hour period before payout occured and then the coin slumped in value hugely, for the rest of the 24 hour period before pay out....

Would those crytpo coins, therefore be exchanged and paid out in BTC, at their current(hence lower) value?  And therefore not converted to BTC at their most profitable value during the hypothetical 24 hour period?

Please let me know your thoughts crypto guru's.

cheers

Alex
