Re: [In Stock] Batch 8! Gridseed miners in Stock in Los Angeles. [$225]
by

on 28/05/2014, 06:59:34 UTC
I wanted to give the nod to ZoomHash and Michael. I've bought over $10,000 worth of product from ZoomHash since March 2014. Every shipment except one showed up on time and exactly as advertised. The only shipment I had an issue with was one for an overclocked gridseed blade unit that was coming from a partner company of theirs that never showed up. Not only did Michael make it right but refunded me the total amount of bitcoin I sent to them on the 12th of May, 2014 and not the equivalent amount of what it is now (back on the 12th, BTC was around $430 / BTC, now it's $565 / BTC, a pretty big difference).

There was a holiday mixed in there and other factors and all I can say is in the end, Michael made it right, more so than I could have expected from any other company dealing with BitCoin / miners and the likes.

ZoomHash has been a really awesome company to work with.

Do not hesitate to use them for any of the product they offer on their website. They offer great support, awesome prices and good deals for returning customers like myself. That's why I keep going back to them. 6 orders later (one through their ebay site and not their website) and they are 100% for me.

Keep up the good work Michael / ZoomHash team.

Special shot out to:

Michael

Re: Multiple cgminer sessions on one windows 8.1 PC - Gridseed blades - question
by

Shouldn't cgminer have a special switch to basically select which USB devices you want? E.g --usb switch.

Quote
Advanced USB options:

The --usb option can restrict how many USB devices are found:

  --usb 1:2,1:3,1:4,1:*
or
  --usb BAS:1,BFL:1,MMQ:0,ICA:0,KLN:0
or
  --usb :10

You can only use one of the above 3

The first version
  --usb 1:2,1:3,1:4,1:*
allows you to select which devices to mine on with a list of USB
 bus_number:device_address
All other USB devices will be ignored
Hotplug will also only look at the devices matching the list specified and
find nothing new if they are all in use
You can specify just the USB bus_number to find all devices like 1:*
which means any devices on USB bus_number 1
This is useful if you unplug a device then plug it back in the same port,
it usually reappears with the same bus_number but a different device_address

You can see the list of all USB devices on linux with 'sudo lsusb' under unix
Cgminer will list the recognised USB devices with the '-n' option or the
'--usb-dump 0' option
The '--usb-dump N' option with a value of N greater than 0 will dump a lot
of details about each recognised USB device
If you wish to see all USB devices, include the --usb-list-all option

Most excellent, that worked like a charm. I just sent you .1 btc @1:07am CST.

Thanks for the help.

Multiple cgminer sessions on one windows 8.1 PC - Gridseed blades - question
by
amithus705
on 27/05/2014, 20:40:50 UTC
Hello everyone.

I've been mining for a while now and recently swapped out some GPU's for gridseed blades and cupcakes. I started with the cupcakes and have now moved onto the blades, which are mining very well for me.

My question is this. I have 6 blades that I want to plug into one PC however I only want 2 blades / mining session. I know how to do this with video cards where you disable a few cards and then start up another cgminer session and attach the cards that were disabled in the one to the other session and now you have 2 miners on one computer. I want to do this same thing with the blades for a few reasons. First off, I want to be able to rent some of my hashing power out to the public via betarigs or another provider site. I also want to be able to split the hashing power around to a few different coins while mining during the downtime I have with leasing.

I have CGMiner 3.7.2 compiled from jmordica's fork of cgminer for the gridseed blades. I am willing to try other software but it needs to work with NiceHash as well as betarigs and leaserig and of course, IPOMiner and other multipools. I would also like to continue to use CGWatcher and CGRemote as I've become addicted to the control, reporting and management I've gotten from using that software.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Well written out explanations will receive .1 btc tip but the solution needs to work with my setup or at least a reasonable alternative. I'm not opposed to getting a raspberry pi if needed but I don't want to get a bunch of these as I already have 15 computers used for GPU mining. I've re-claimed a few boxes from retired cards no longer profitable enough to keep around. I also understand I can use these extra computers to do what I'm asking to do but I want to reduce the amount of running computers I have and I can't really justify keeping a computer on for just 2 blades / computer. Round-robin and other share based solutions are also not a solution for this as when someone rents a rig, I can't have that scheme on and provide the proper hash to the customer while they have the rig rented.

Again, .1 or more (depending on the answer) BTC tip for the answer written out so a moderately capable computer guy can get it done.

Just so you know what I'm working with:

Multiple 10 slot USB 2.0 and 3.0 powered hubs (all tested and working fine with the miners)
Windows 8.1 fully patched
All are based on dedicated computers that were at one point used for GPU mining
Dedicated power, internet and hardware
All AMD based systems with 4+ gb ram and 1000 watt power supplies
cgminer 3.7.2 jmordica release for gridseed blades / 5 chip seeds (cupcakes)
CGWatcher 1.0.9
CGRemote (dunno what version but it's only one version behind the current release) [not at home right now to look]
(6) Gridseed Blade miners all running stock clock and 5.2 mhs
(20) Gridseed 5 chip cupcake miners all running as one miner and I don't need a solution for this setup, i'm happy with the hash and performance of this rig and how it's setup right now, it's on it's own area with it's own power and setup nicely, so I don't need to touch this one.

Re: don't use X11,it can be mined by Scrypt ASIC or fpga
by
amithus705
on 23/05/2014, 04:52:34 UTC
I have seen people say that making an X11 Asic will be much easier/faster than it was for scrypt... however I have no real knowledge on the subject so I cant say if that's true or not.

Regardless, if asics/fpga's invade x11, the market will dictate where GPU miners go next, it's not really that big of a deal.
For the time being, I like X11 for the temps... I don't feel like my cards are going to melt into nothing :-P. But if another algo starts to rise, we go there. I'm going to guess this "arms race" will be going on for quite some time, so lets sit back and relax, and watch the show Smiley

Probably the best response in the whole thread.

I'm so happy I've stuck with IPOMiner. That's the only pool I've used for new launched coins and never been screwed. I hear all these horror stories about new coins and not getting what you've mined. That really sucks and I feel bad for those people.

Seriously, check out IPOMiner. The only bad thing is the 51% deal which could cause issues if other pool operators can't get their crap together.

Amithus's Reputation Thread
by
amithus705
on 13/05/2014, 05:34:45 UTC
Hello and thank you for visiting my reputation thread.

Please feel free to PM me or email me if you have any questions. My email address is cryptoATnexxuscloudDOTcom. Obviously take out the AT and DOT and put in the actual characters you would use for an email address. I check my email every day so I should be able to get back to you quickly. I'm in the USA in CST time zone.

Please contact me prior to submitting a reputation submission so I can at least try to satisfy the agreement / contract prior to leaving feedback that is negative but you didn't give me the opportunity to make it right.

I am a business owner in my day job and I aim to satisfy all clients / customers.

Private leasing is available. Leasing through LeaseRig.net at

http://leaserig.net/index.jsp?rfid=3242

I currently run GPU and ASIC Scrypt based miners. The GPU miners will be swapping over to X11 for the summer by June 10th, 2014.

Have a great day and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

What exactly is the 'WhiteCoin Foundation?' What do they do? Arguing about who's going to jail for trolling isn't really providing potential investors with much information.

Any coin "foundation" is meant to develop the coin, get proper info out, add services and features to the coin, fix issues, gain acceptance in the market.

By foundation, it's usually a community appointed group that is like an elected body to handle the day to day operations of a coin. Not unlike the BTC foundation and other foundations, WhiteCoin started as one person's idea, or a group, but is now moving toward control by the general population through an elected body of representatives.

Yeah. Thanks for the definition of the word 'foundation.' That's helpful.  Grin

I was asking about what this particular foundation does? Why is this thread separate from the main one?

Sorry mistook your question. This thread is separate because the original founder of WhiteCoin messed up the wallet so when the PoS cycle started, it never worked. Then he dumped his pre-mine like a dbag and ran. Mogonzo has taken over the temp role of dev with the help of HoneyBadger from CGA that's been re-writing the code for the wallet. If you haven't noticed the other WC thread is almost 400 pages of crap, fud, fighting etc... This thread was started to have news and info about WhiteCoin and what the foundation is doing on making the coin move forward, but as you can see, without a mod, that is failing at this point.

I would like to be a mod and support the team, where should I start? I don't have a fancy rep, if that is what the devs are looking for - but I got the time and I'm always reading in both threads anyway.

You will want to PM Mogonzo. I have no control over this.

The worst I did was call you a scumbag lol

Please stop posting in the white coin thread about this.

Drop it. Seriously, this is about WC Foundation, not your personal beef with another BCT member.

I vote that all posts in this thread, positive or negative be removed if it has to do with trolling or feeding trolls. This is supposed to be about the foundation and the future of this coin, not how it's a scam, how it's awesome, how anything, it's supposed to be about facts.

Is there a good writeup somewhere that shows what we need level wise to be able to do certain things? Like signatures with links (affiliate programs) and other stuff that we may not know.

Thanks for the info, mogonzo.

8 hours BC. 2 days WC. It does encourage wallets to be open 24/7, it's better... but I still believe 12 hour would be best for the coin, or even shorter time. BC doesn't have any problems with it's PoS model. There shouldn't be a compromise when WC future is dependent on fast PoS.

Anyone else feel the same?

I think what he's saying is that if they put a 12 hr stake in, and people don't update their wallets in that first 12 hours, the coin in their wallets may be lost? Or am I completely missing it? If that is the case, we need more than 12 hours to let people update wallets and catch up their clients.

mogonzo, can you please clarify the intentions of creating a 28 day stake time?

thanks

I believe the intention right now is 2 days.

The reasoning behind this is to do with the security of the blockchain. Our dev team is concerned that having the staking begin too early after the update could cause forks.

If any users are still on the old wallet when staking begins it would not be very good for the health of the coin. So we're going for a balance between what the original creators promised/intended and what will realistically give WhiteCoin the most value and stability going forward.

Hope that explains things.

That's a good compromise. That would be a shame if people weren't able to or didn't know about the updated wallet in time and lost their coins due to a 12 hour stake. 2 Days seems legit to me.

funding is very important...

1. only approved pools that donate 1% to the WC foundation are listed on the OP. Everyone will mine on those only.

2. this % goes to a WC pot held by escrow level member and released only in stages for things that need doing... these jobs will be put up for public bidding and paid only upon completion and working 100% perfectly.

3. donations again held by escrow level members in cold wallets.

new WC thread, self moderated to get rid on groundless FUD... any comments not backed by evidence deleted.

I couldn't agree more. Mogonzo, if you need help, PM me. I know I'm not very known in this forum but I've been lurking here more than posting.
