I thought this would be a superb games like Cryptokitties, Beyond the Void and more. so far whether there was already winning prizes? How many prizes it brings to the winners? I was very interested when they provide streaming to see people competing with games.

Stupid question here: Do US residents have to pay taxes on the prizes won, or for that matter if we sell the monsters for profit? I guess I should ask my CPA but I don't really feel like having to explain everything that would entail.
I'm not an expert and this isn't tax or legal advice and I don't know what Im talking about, but AFAIK only pay taxes on ETH/BTC when you turn it to USD. I'd still ask a CPA familiar with crypto tho.

Is there any particular reason you chose not to do an ICO for this? Do you think it would have been less successful?
Access to the game was presold in the form of digital eggs and the project was self funded.
How would you imagine the project doing an ICO?

Yes, you sell monsters using the collection screen (play.worldofether.com/collection) and the live auctions appear in the marketplace screen (play.worldofether.com/marketplace)

Some etherians are more expensive than others. Check out the filters to find ones that fit with what youre looking for

Are there any disadvantages when it comes to having this as a decentralized platform?
The space is so new, there's not much infrastructure for functional dapps. The dev team has stated they created a lot of the tech themselves.

How long does it take to receive the eggs after purchase? It depends on the ETH network confirmation times I assume?
Usually a minute or less. Correct, it depends on the ETH network confirmation and chain reader.

How different do you see World of Ether in 5 years?
It's blockchain, so the only way would be very different, other than frontend changes would be a new version I would think. But I think this game will change the whole gaming industry like cryptokitties did.

Do the eggs hatch as soon as you press a button or is there an incubation period?
You should wait on the screen after hatching for until you see your egg number decrease or until you see your egg go from inventory to collection.
In collection you can hatch the egg. This is on the blockchain.

How does World of Ether compete with other mainstream video games?
1. $30,000
2. World of Ether gives players the ability to make money in the game. Mainstream games don't have that.
3. The game is beautiful, has a good custom soundtrack, and is intuitive.

There's a very in depth breeding system. But besides what is in the game, it can't be changed because it's decentralized on blockchain.
