Have a gigabyte 7950 that I used for about a month. Asking for 2.7BTC as of today. Also have it for sell here: http://www.coingig.com/EdsGoods/1215
They have escrow service there. Only ship to US and I'll do free overnight via Fed-ex with tracking number, thanks.

Have you tried any other miner? GUIminer is a good alternative to cgminer.

Re: Want to mine both scrypt and sha coins on same GPU. Is it possible?

If you are using the same GPU to mine both SHA and scrypt at the same time then the performance will be cut in half from the GPU. It will use half it's resources for one mining and the other half to the other type. You wont be able to get max numbers mining both at the same time only when mining one at a time. A nice alternative would be mining BTC on some pools that also mine NMC, you're mining two coins at the same time with no performance hits.

I have one of those cards and also a gigabyte version and those DD cards run hot! Get as much cooling to it as possible because I notice if I let mine get to warm it starts to slow down and then once it's cooler again then it picks back up, it's doing like a sea-saw effect. I have an external fan blowing straight to it and moved it to a cooler room in the house and it's been doing a lot better, over clocking it also affects the temp very much too. The DD card runs in the 90's where the gigabyte is in the 70's.

Re: error ONLY when mining LTC ?? does cgminer like win7 32bit ?

Try using these settings:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o -u -p --shaders 1792  -I 18 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 21712 -g 1

or I also recommend using GUIminer -scrypt version. Still uses cgminer but has a nice GUI interface. It also has preset settings for your video cards and you can just select those and have at it.

Have you tried lowering your memory clock speeds or core clock speeds? I had a similar issue with one of my gigabyte 7950's and I had to lower the clock speeds unit it stopped doing it. I know it's not as fast but at least I have non stop mining going on. If it happens again even after you made your changes on the hardware side try running it at default clock settings to see what happens.

Also I switch to GUIminer -scrypt version and I am getting the same results as directly with cgminer but it seems more stable. GUIminer also has a auto start feature that I like.

Also you may want to consider what is more profitable to mine. If you mine something that is hard to get and the value isn't the greatest compared to mining something that is easier to get but the value on time spent mining is better then that might be the choice you go with. At least that's how I see it, for example if mining BTC for 10 days you get 1BTC out of it and it's worth $110 but mining LTC for 10 days and you get 50LTC at $3.75 each then you'll get $187 worth of coin. Coinotron.com will show you the profitability per each coin and I like to use it as a gauge of what I should be mining. If anyone has any comments on this please feel free cause I'm no expert on this and any help is always appreciated.

WTS: Gigabyte Motherboard
by

Hey guys, I'm looking to sell my motherboard:

newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128562R

I'll post pics as soon as I get home but you can check the link for specs and what not. It's been opened but unused, never had a CPU in it. I'll ship to anywhere in the US only and free! I'll ship it next day fedex.
Only reason why I'm selling is because I bought it for mining but didn't realize I bought the wrong CPU type and I can't return it. Retails for around $230, 4 PCI-E x16 slots and 2 PCI-E 1x.

Asking for 1.5 BTC. Please PM me if interested, thanks!

Try giving this a read for 7xxx series cards.

Thanks for this link, this worked perfectly and now I'm mining where I should be!! Grin

each card's clocks can be set independently of each other. there is no reason to run separate instances for each card. for example, to configure clocks for multiple gpu, you can use
"--gpu-engine 900" to set 900mhz for every card, or "--gpu-engine 900,850,875" to set 900mhz for card0, 850mhz for card1, 875 for card2, etc.

^ WIN! Thanks for the info  Wink

xfx 7950 LTC mining with many stales, need help please.

Hello all,
First off thanks for having this forum and for all the wonderful support.

I have a XFX7950 that I'm running and I keep coming across people who keep saying that can easily get passed 500Kh/s with these cards while mining LTC. I can't seem to do this without having the pool and also cgminer tell me that I have lots of stales. If I keep my current settings, which are:

cgminer --scrypt --shaders 1000 --intensity 12 --worksize 256 -g 1
Temp: 80.0 C
Fan Speed: 76% (3370 RPM)
Engine Clock: 1150 MHz
Memory Clock: 1450 Mhz
Vddc: 1.250 V
Activity: 97%
Powertune: -10%
Fan autotune is disabled (0-85)
GPU engine clock autotune is disabled (900-900)

I get this below

(5s):298.5K (avg):305.8Kh/s | Q:13  A:48  R:0  HW:0  E:315%  U:7.7/m
 ST: 2  SS: 0  DW: 24  NB: 7  LW: 46  GF: 0  RF: 0  WU: 223.5
 GPU 0:  80.0C 3389RPM | 298.5K/305.8Kh/s | A:48 R:0 HW:0 U: 7.89/m I:12

It seems like anything I adjust I either use more power or my stales go up and my Kh/s on my pool goes down from what my miner says I'm doing, I understand that the pools calculate Kh/s by accepted shares so that is really my concern. Is there anything I can change to increase my Kh/s output while having my stales stay down?

Thanks in advance for any help  Cheesy

Hey guys,
I run a 7950 and a 6770 just fine with cgminer. I use two difference instances for each card with their own settings and they both work perfectly. Hopes this helps  Grin
