Why does each new version of Bitcoin Core require a newer version of macOS? Could it be due to XCode updates or other development factors?

Because Apple's gonna Apple.

Re: 15M BTC goes into self custody
by

Yeah, probably an offshoot on what had happened to FTX and that is why many investors are withdrawing right now and doing self custody. But we don't know how long this will take though, maybe again because of this event and once it is forgotten in the next couple of months, everyone is going back to it's norm. Depositing huge amount of bitcoin in exchange for whatever purposes they have, trading, etc.

So this is not yet final in my opinion, we need to go back and see the data maybe in the beginning of the 2nd quarter next year to see if everything has settled down a bit.

What's amazing is, in the past people just sold to USD and left the market. Now they're holding their btc instead - too precious to them to dump. Underrated paradigm shift imo.

Re: old Bitcoin addresses as 'NFT' on the Bitcoin blockchain - a signature chain
by
bishopcrypto
on 04/12/2022, 17:08:46 UTC

Yes, thanks, that you mentioned that someone could try to make an NFT out of it. We don't have a classical NFT here, but this 'signature chain' works and could become something  Smiley who knows? Mabe we have something like 'cryptopunks' in the making. At the beginning people didn't understand blockchain & NFT too.
maybe this is the start of a new and unique type of NFT.
good luck

Isn't the signature itself basically an NFT? Or can we get super meta with bitcoin signature NFTs on the bitcoin chain?

Stat of the day: Of all #blockchains, #BSV processed the most transactions in the last 24 hours, averaging 16.44 tx per second!

Weeks later and transaction count is still @ 3.4M tx in the last 24 hours. That's 3x ETH, 13x BTC. What's driving it?

anyone familiar with any?

I'm pretty sure you can stake USDT on Nexo. You might also look into bridging your stables onto Secret Network and earn as an LP.

Re: Potential price of Polygon (MATIC) next year
by
bishopcrypto
on 07/12/2021, 19:13:09 UTC
besides that it is currently very many new projects are already using the polygon network(MATIC), of course this is a very good signal to invest with MATIC

I don't invest in matic but work with a few projects that use it. Easily one of the most useful blockchains out there next to ETH and BSC but without the fees. It helps that it's one of the main currencies on OpenSea. The high coin issuance will make a parabolic rise a longshot imo, but the use case of matic is there 100%. So for me it's not speculation. It's real. Not pumping, and this is not investment advice. Just insight from someone who finds use before investment.

Interesting thread. Fully Rekt is worth putting on your radar. Sounds like they are building a token/dao. Probably not a platform like mana or anything, but something that would live there. Really interesting stuff and the people involved. Def watch for it.

Re: “Saylor bought the DIP”, A Short Bitcoin “movie”
by
bishopcrypto
on 30/11/2021, 14:18:52 UTC
I'm not criticizing Saylor here, but rather how a large part of this community has turned him into a celebrity. People shouldn't just blindly copy his strategy and buy Bitcoin whenever he tweets that he bought. This basically gives him power to influence the market in short term. We are not gaining anything from it, just creating a risk.

It's fair to critique the fact of his status in the community. But I think the community also owes him a bit of regard for the simple fact of unwavering outspoken truth-telling in the face of the usual banksterism we all know and love. Saylor is less a pumper/dumper than he is a true believer and guardian of bcc imo.

Re: Bitcoin and world conflicts
by
bishopcrypto
on 17/11/2021, 15:05:19 UTC
I'm hearing a lot of people talk about how BTC will prevent wars and play a significant role in discouraging international violence

Never heard this specifically. One could easily go down the rabbit hole of btc being libertarian, and in that sense, yes, if suddenly all governments on earth have been dwindled down to a libertarian ideal, we wouldn't have a lot of conflict. The vast majority of people, aside from the MIC and their vampire politicians, overwhelmingly want to live in peace.

Re: Best thing you bought with Bitcoin?
by
bishopcrypto
on 16/11/2021, 17:03:28 UTC
What was the best/most interesting thing you bought with Bitcoin, when, where you bought it and how many Bitcoins it did cost? Grin

I almost bought a desert eagle on some darkmarket for like 8 Bitcoins (around 6500 CZK by that time) but I decided not to buy it, because it maybe was scam and if not, then my mom would kill me with it, if she knew that I was big gun fan back then... Cheesy Cheesy

As others have said, freedom. But mainly that's peace of mind...and almost as importantly, knowing there's a piece of net worth that is mostly untouchable and under no one else's control and at no one else's whim..

Polygon should be on that list. Quite a bit more decentralized than Solana, tiny fees, fast TPS, lots of usage. Can't speak on investment, but very good utility.

Re: What is the best decentralized stablecoin?
by
bishopcrypto
on 15/11/2021, 16:18:29 UTC
I reckon the best time to begin your plan for the bear market is to do it during the bull market. I want to hold American dollars or a dollar equivalent when the bear market arrives, however, I do not feel safe holding centralized stablecoins like USDT, USDC or BUSD. What are the decentralized stablecoins can everyone of you recommend?

Starting on Nov. 18 you might want to add Haven's private algorithmic stablecoin xUSD to your list.

Re: BTC in Miami
by
bishopcrypto
on 15/11/2021, 16:15:48 UTC
Regardless of the method of sharing free Bitcoin for all Miami residents, I must admit this is a very bold move and very good news. The impact
may be  that more people will learn about Bitcoin and finally decide to adopt Bitcoin in Miami. I hope there will be more Bitcoin-friendly country
leaders like  Major Francis Suarez.

(not-so) weirdly Miami no-coiners are very vocal and hate it because they equate any move into crypto as welcoming SF tech bro culture...and exacerbating the divide between haves/have-nots. They seem to be unable to see the possibility that embracing crypto now (still early) helps solve those inequities, or at least gives people an immutable stake in their own future.

Re: Bitcoin Core 22.0 Released

Are there any plans in the core development to at least allow users to run the core software without having to download and process the entire blockchain?

This would be great and I would be happy to support this!

In addition to pruning? Still have to download first, but once you activate pruning on your core node you can dump 90% of the chain from storage.

Re: [ANN]🦄 FULLY REKT!🦄

Heads up for anyone following this thread. We'll have a (non-conventional) presence at DCentral later this month and will be giving away a few special and unique numbered NFTs (and airdropping) to existing holders. Have to follow on Twitter (@getfullyrekt) for it, and TG users will get first word. DAO is still in planning, so there's that, too.

Also, we are considering adding other cryptos to our payments.

Pirate (ARRR) and Wownero (WOW) have been requested. We also think Haven (XHV) is a very interesting option, but not sure if anyone uses the coin for transactions. Open to discussion here and TG.

Thanks for your support, gents!
