I think it will fluctuate a lot, but slowly rise overall.

You guys seem to be so convinced it will keep rising forever. Why is that? You're true believers, the Bitcoin became your god.  Smiley

Re: Ripple & XRP: a potential successor to BitCoin?

I guess my question is: Does Ripple present the same opportunity to compete against central banks as Bitcoin does, or is it just trying to be the next PayPal?  Also: Will XRP ever be traded the same way bitcoin is?

I think, all is true. XRP has potential for becoming currency alternative to Bitcoin, even better one, as intergated with its own payment system. Hence, it may become more popular among retailers than BTC.
Anyway, I think we can expect explosion of newly created cryptocurrencies in the next year time, some are going to be better than BTC, the others worse. The point is, the whole process may lead to marginalization of BTC and depreciation of its value.

I think it will keep going up and down short term and then make a major move upwards to like $500+
What do you base it on? IMHO such beliefs is what drives price up, nothing else.

Re: LTC and BTC exchange rate connection?

I think, it's just all about the trust in concept of digital currency in general. When people see the most popular one is falling they distrust the others and sell them. As market is driven by speculators and wanna-be-millionaires who believe the BTC will always keep rising together with LTC and other ones, such connection is no surprise.

To be honest, I couldn't trust this exchange from the beginning as they didn't charge any commision on transactions, so how the hell they could make money then? By stealing from people, of course!  Angry
Apart from this, no verification of personal data was needed upon registration, very strange when it comes to dealing with money. Undecided

I think, it will fluctuate violently in the near future as market is driven by speculators at the moment. In longer term it may rise as it gets accepted by more retailers until another currencies kick in, especially Ripple seems to be promising and having decent media coverage. Who knows, what other currencies may appear within a year or two and how popular they may become? It they surprass bitcoin, the demand will fall, so will the price.

Personally, I wouldn't trust Bitcoin that much to convert all my fiat currecy into BTC. The current price is too dependant on mood of the investors and hopes of enthusiasts who seem absolutely convinced that BTC must rise.
