По мне так в два года вообще не нужны детям мультики. Самый лучший мультик это занятия с мамой и прогулки на природе

Also, I don't think you could read printed numbers on paper with an x-ray unless the density of the ink was significantly different than the density of the paper.

So long as the seal is unbroken I don't see why people couldn't keep spending a Casascius coin. People would just have to accept this metallic representation of a Bitcoin as if it were a Bitcoin, and it could be passed along, exchangeable for Bitcoins in theory but rarely actually done so, like a gold certificate. That could be good for promoting offline Bitcoin commerce, paying for things in restaurants and stores, giving tips, etc.

@ casascius - Thanks. I don't have the funds to spare to be buying Bitcoins for something like this yet but when I do I might try it. Are holograms / scratch-offs like you and others use hard to obtain?

@acoindr - Yes, you're right. I think this is too much for a mere bitcoinnewbie like me to get into any time soon.

@ acoindr - One possible solution to the trust problem might be to give out very small amounts for free, sort of like an offline faucet and as as people redeem them they'll see that they're redeemable. Alternately, people could check feedback on eBay and the like.

I've noticed several people here making physical notes or coins with Bitcoin values and I'm wondering how they do that. I'm new to Bitcoins but have been making monetary-themed art for many years and it's something I might like to try myself sometime. Making the physical object and its design is easy, but what I'm confused about is how to transfer the actual monetary value from my personal client software to this piece of paper with a number on it. How do you "send" Bitcoins to a physical object instead of another alphanumeric payment address? And do physical Bitcoins have to have a QR code?

Well I am mainly concerned with solo mining at this time. I just want to try it awhile and see what happens. Thanks to this forum's assistance I have fixed some problems and am now mining for the first time. In other news, today I made my first bitcoins (from some ad viewing program). A whole 0.00306. I'm rich. 

Yeah, I know I probably won't strike it lucky, but as a newbie to this, solo mining is something I'd like to try once before probably inevitably giving up on it. Thanks, I'll look into bitcoind. If I download the latest blockchain from http://eu1.bitcoincharts.com/blockchain/ will that correct the blkindex.dat error on a current bitcoin client installation?

I'm a new member here. I found out about Bitcoin last year or the year before and have just now recently decided to try it out. My interests in Bitcoin are varied. Sure, I'd like to hold on to some for currency speculation, but the idea of free business transactions is alluring, after all these years of fees and restrictions from PayPal and its ilk. I tried a couple faucets but I don't think I got anything despite a successful submission, and I'd like to try mining just for the fun of it but have run into technical difficulties. In the longer term, if Bitcoin continues showing value stability, I'll probably look into the possibility of offering products and services in exchange for them. Something like a 'General Store' for Bitcoins may prove useful if one does not already exist. People need things to spend them on and it needs people to spend them, so it's gotta lose the shady drug-buying reputation for more widespread adoption, I think.

I do hope it succeeds (and without too much government persecution). Best of luck, everyone.
