Totally agree  do you have any specific standard that when the project meets that standard, you know they are trust worthy?
Mine is a little bit unclear  i search for the information about the project, read their white paper. Based on how much the information "make sense" to me. I will make decision.

It's very hard to tell if the project is scam or not at first sight. You have to research carefully. Many scammers do their trick based on investors' greed.
In my opinion, i always doubt any project that provides too many attractive profits for users, sometimes it is even unreal.

In my opinion, as long as it's new, very hard to tell if it is safe to invest. You have to observe and analyze the coin's fluctuation on the market, then make a decision to minimize the risk.
Just be careful with any platform that provide attractive deal or huge profit, they might be a scammer (not all of them).
