Some friendly reminders from cryptozoidberg about the BBR slack and GitHub repos:

FYI: There is only one official slack in BBR: boolberry.slack.com and i'm personally available there most of the time. Any other "zoidbergs" accounts is not related with me.

CZ, msg'd you - slack invite please!!

Dear friends, to get invited into a slack send me your emails please, it's the only way to get invited.
I've setup permissions that everyone invited can invite.

And please, sorry if i'm not answering to all personal messages there or here i forum, lack of time.

Zoidberg

Hi Folk!

Just want to notice everyone, as soon as you install third-party builds of BBR you taking not only a risk of getting unstable/broken build, u also take a risk of getting spyware/malware which can steal money (BBRs, Bitcoins, whatever u use), it's all based on trust of developer.

My strong advice - be very careful with all that you install basically, at least use virtual machines (like vmvare, paralells, virtual box) for this things.
Or, build it from sources yourself.

Zoidberg.

Cryptozoidberg been active in GitHub in the last two weeks

There are many people that still trust the development skills of cryptozoidberg far more than any new unproven development team.

I have ideal of the combination of these:

1. Bitcoin - as a reserve of the world currency
2. Monero - as the most anonymous coin
3. Decred - the most advanced governance in crypto space
4. Dash - the best PR and marketing.
5. Magi (XMG) - the most friendly community.
6. Ethereum - the world supercomputer, smart contracts and dapps.
7. Waves - fiat gateways.

Thanks, I havn't heard of a couple of those but i'll look them up shortly. I thought Dash had one of the best, if not the best government structures so maybe i'll look up Decred see how that differs.

Decred is far better at governance than DASH. In fact Monero is better than Dash at governance. Not just according to Monero community members that have witnessed multiple large scale failures for expensive masternode voted budget items but in the eyes of Charlie Lee, creator of LTC:

World Chess Championship Match tied after 12 games.

Tiebreaker begins tomorrow:

https://worldchess.com/2016/11/28/world-ch-game-12-an-anticlimactic-draw/

Magnus Carlsen won the tiebreak and remained world Champion.

Monero remains the champion of blockchain privacy and AEON has now clearly surpassed BBR as the second most interesting CryptoNote currency and the new leader for pruning research.

Like many others I do like the roadmap of 1blocktologist nor do I trust his competence.

Unless crypto_zoidberg returns to actively develop Boolberry soon it appears likely the dominance of Aeon for pruning and scaling CryptoNote (Now RingCT) research will become permanent.

I guess we don't need "BBR-classic" here at the moment Smiley

Please come back and resume development. Unlike 1Blocktologist you have a proven track record as a developer. If you do nothing Boolberry (AEON now has preliminary RingCT code from Monero) will be soon forgotten.

Ask the Boolberry community to defend against the GitHub and branding takeover attempt:

According to cryptozoidberg and most of the community, BBR remains the correct Boolberry ticker symbol. If you agree then tell the exchanges.

All nodes on the network will be able to sign transactions with the wild keccak algorithm and accept the same blocks.

...

Look, I'm not trying to troll (OK maybe a little bit). I don't have any BBR anymore and don't plan to grab any. I turned over the subreddit to you guys and don't post here or there anymore. But based on the above sentence it would appear you have no idea how the Cryptonote/Boolberry protocol works, and I can't understand how anyone with a modicum of technical knowledge would have any confidence in your "Blockchain Development Company".

Wild Keccak is the proof-of-work hashing algorithm - you don't sign a transaction with the proof-of-work, not in Bitcoin and not in Cryptonotes. You sign transactions with your private key, in Bitcoin using ECDSA, and in Cryptonotes using EdDSA. And although it might be technically correct in Bitcoin to say that nodes sign transactions, since the node and wallet software are bundled up in one program, that's not the case with Cryptonotes.

I mean, I'm not even that technically proficient with this stuff, but cmon man. Hopefully zoidberg can randomly release some software that accomplishes "the vision".

ABOUT CHANGING TOKEN NAME: I never initiated/accepted changing it from original BBR to anything else, this project will be developed by original name, whatever else is not related to this project.

I guess we don't need "BBR-classic" here at the moment Smiley

I share the same concerns as jwinterm about the development skills of 1blockologist.

In my mint BBR is still the ticker symbol of Boolberry and the GitHub repository of crypto_zoidberg is where the official source code resides.

I remain upset with Bittrex for changing the ticker symbol to XBB at the request of 1blockologist without  talking to crypto_zoidberg or requesting feedback from the Boolberry community. Until and unless this changes I no longer support Bittrex. If you agree please contact support@bittrex.com and ask that they change the Boolberry ticker back to BBR.

Based on the above and future development goals I believe that Boolberry has lost its position (to Aeon) as the second most interesting CryptoNote project after Monero.

Compare the roadmap of Boolberry and AEON and decide for yourself:

Please do two things going forward if you want to earn trust from more of the community

1. Post all updates in this thread (not just links)

2. If you want to continue using your own repo, fine, but please keep making pull requests to the original repo even if cryptozoidberg decides not to merge them.

cryptozoidberg may or may not return, but splintering the community by only providing detailed updates in another thread and not making pull requests to the original repository is not helpful.

One good thing has come out of this already, CZ has woken up from 2 years of hibernation  Smiley

Yes! I think all of us are happy when CZ returns. Despite the objections to his long absence and 1% dev tax (I still prefer a donation model and think switching to one could both raise confidence in BBR and actually lead to an increase development funding assuming CZ becomes active again) I think everyone here highly respects his development skills. We all hope his contributions will continue.

I appreciate that not everyone has the same vision for Boolberry and disagreements will happen.

Lets try to focus on productive tasks as best we can. Here are a few ideas:

Boolberry is on topic on Monero Stack Exchange. Lets ask more great questions and raise awareness about the unique BBR features:

You are correct that I made those comments about Boolberry development. I think any independent observer would agree with my conclusion (at that time) by observing Boolberry GitHub activity over the past year.

How about you add some professionalism to your dutites as the largest boolberry related twitter account? Actively promoting another project on a boolberry twitter account regardless of the development is unprofessional. If you can't maintain the duty of managing the twitter account, you should hand it off to someone in the community more capable of the tasks involved. I would suggest one the advocates for boolberry, possibily one of the donators.

The primary duty of a boolberry account is to actively promote the coin and spread the news related to boolberry. If there is no news then there should be no tweets. Don't abuse your account to promote your investments in AEON. Do that on your own personal account, not the boolberry account. It screams unprofessional from the highest elevation possible and sends the wrong message to bbr investors. But I'm sure you already knew that.

That being said, CZ and 1block might have their differences but that will be set aside for the mutual goal of seeing boolberry succeed. IMO, 1block is better suited than you to manage that account because his interests are aligned soley with boolberry, not a competiing currency like AEON.

I believe in cooperation some of which brought a lot of attention to Boolberry

Boolberry, Aeon and Monero can all learn from each other. There is no reason to pick sides. Smooth (Aeon and Monero developer) has helped Boolberry in the past and that should not be ignored.

The Monero community allows BBR and AEON questions on Stack Exchange. We should be grateful for that privilege and congratulate those communities on their accomplishments.

I am seeking input regarding interest to revive this Chess and CryptoNote thread.  Suggested changes in format should the thread become active again are welcome.

I would like to see a greater focus on technical discussion and an effort to drive more traffic to Monero Stack Excahnge where both Boolberry and Aeon are on topic.

Next thing you are going to question is the loyalty to Boolberry project Grin Cheesy

I have never claimed to be 100% loyal to Boolberry. I have been interested in CryptoNote since 2014 and was very interested in the innovation that zoidberg introduced at that time. I have never hidden my interest in Monero or more recently Aeon.

I am not a Boolberry maximalist and will never put all my faith in a single currency, not even Bitcoin.

I am happy that new developers (including you) are interested in contributing now. I would like to see collaboration not a takeover attempt (I consider changing the sidebar link on r/boolberry to a new moderated bct thread under your control with links to a new GitHub page a hostile takeover attempt).

This is a moderated thread. You would be much better off if you just help me to the same standard you held CZ to.

I agree with you on that point. I wish zoidberg had made this thread unmoderated. That was a primary motivation for starting this thread last year

I haven't pushed my RPC server changes.

Why don't you join the slack? We talk about cryptonote codebase all day there

That is good advice. I have been very busy recently but should make have to make time to do that

I stand by my comment about the price speculation talk being over the top based on the level of development activity you have demonstrated so far

https://github.com/BlockchainDevelopmentCompany/boolberry/commits/master

What are you guys talking about there are lots of commits now? The price speculation talk was primarily in the research paper before ANY commits were done.

Do you guys realize people actually run the code there?

Your opinions are great feedback but they have to be based in reality, there has to be a threshold where our development is no longer part of a "scam" and just actual software development

I agree there have been more commits recently but many of yours are just merge commits or simple changes. Which commit would you identify as the most important you have made so far in terms of demonstrating your understanding of the CryptoNote codebase?

As I stated above, I will keep an open mind about my views. So far I can say that you have been quite responsive to community feedback.

Hi CZ, thank you for your valuable input.

Are you currently supporting 1blocklologist's and Block chain Development's vision for BBR in the future?

Is there anything that they should be working on right now, to make the smoothest transition to a new development team?

Thanks again for all of your great work! Wink

At the moment i can say only that 1blocklologist didn't get my trust yet.
He rejected to contribute to BBR repository with my code review, he did't show competence in BBR code base, he didn't do any improvements yet.

For me it looks like a fake, so be careful.

Zoidberg.

Has your opinion changed? Although I have in the past questioned the 1% developer mining share at times when you have not been active I share your concerns in this case.
My current opinion is as follows:

Negatives:

1. Currently I consider the original GitHub repository to be official repository not the new BlockChainDevelopmentCompany repository. Zoidberg has proven a high level of understanding of the Boolberry codebase and is willing to review pull requests from new developers.
2. I don't like that 1blocklologist changed the Bitcointalk link on the r/boolberry sidebar to the new moderated thread which contains links to the new GitHub
3. I dislike the new BBR masternode plan
4. I dislike the plan to change the BBR ticker to XBR
5. I dislike all the Boolberry price target speculation. Talk without a significant demonstration of development ability reminds me too much of pump an dump tactics common in other coins

Positives:

1. It is nice to have interest from a new developer since you have not been active in a long time
2. Since you have not been active I like the proposal to remove the 1% developer mining reward (my mind could be changed if you started developing again)

Well I'm obligated to be defensive about this, so here are the answers:

All five of your negatives were directly related to CryptoZoidberg disappearing. You were the one that posted on Twitter that nobody should even be using Boolberry

August 28th:
"#Boolberry development is non existent. If you are looking for a #Monero alternative with #pruning and an active developer look at #Aeon." and this 100% contributed to my company's plans.

Boolberry development is no longer non existent, with a 100% correlation to my activity, and thats the modest version of that statement.

The masternode development hasn't even begun, we are working on everything else on the roadmap, and when we get that far we are open to input from the community.

The ticker symbol idea wasn't a plan, it was a comment. Lets have a discussion, this is a collaborative process.

We view Boolberry as undervalued. Taking the price target talk into conjunction with the masternode plan and you'd see that people wouldn't need to "dump" because it effectively turns Boolberry into an interest earning asset.

We can submit pull requests at any time, so it is misguided to form an absolute opinion that because we haven't that we won't.

Hope that helps!

I am glad to hear you are open to input about the masternode plan (which I strongly dislike) and the ticker symbol comment is not part of a formal plan.

I stand by my comment about the price speculation talk being over the top based on the level of development activity you have demonstrated so far

had BBR devs kept at least a minimum of development effort, this would be their time to shine too but now I have to agree with this tweet: https://twitter.com/BBRcurrency/status/770149257705721856

Quote
#Boolberry development is non existent. If you are looking for a #Monero alternative with #pruning and an active developer look at #Aeon.

Pump other coins under their thread/ twitter handles. These kind of posts/ tweets only serve to undermine the coin you're trying to promote... particularly if they are sent from twitter accounts that are falsely representing themselves as being associated with Boolberry.

Before you criticize me for that Tweet or lethos for sharing it here please try to understand my perspective. I spent a lot of time trying to build interest in Boolberry and grow its community but ultimately abandoned it after not seeing the level of interest I had hoped for. GitHub has not been active for a long time.

I have never claimed to officially represent Boolberry in any capacity. The Twitter account was made in attempt to revive the community (largely unsuccessful unfortunately) because this original account was abandoned 2 years ago. Speaking of Twitter @damashup I believed in the potential of your creation popboolr. What happened to it?

Before the crypto_zoidberg post I had no reason to believe the recent increase in BBR price and trading volume was not just a spillover in interest from Monero. If crypto_zoidberg, the 1blockologist or someone else starts developing BBR then I may be willing to become more active again. For now I share the caution or the ph4nt0m and plan on taking a wait and see approach.

I and my organization Blockchain Development Company will be taking over development of Boolberry.

https://github.com/BlockchainDevelopmentCompany/boolberry

Announcement thread incoming, the tl;dr is that I am a moderator of cryptonote, redditor for 2 years, never made a bitcointalk account as bitcointalk became irrelevant for blockchain projects sometime mid 2014 at the height of the altcoin mania, but now that cryptonote is gaining market attention I need to reach out to you all.

Spread the news, in the mean time I'll work on getting my post count up on bitcointalk so my legitimacy goes unquestioned.

What's your real account on GitHub to see your commits and evaluate your coding skills?
