Will do escrow if you pay the fees.  Inside the US is free shipping.  Not sure I'll ship international, but ask if interested.

I looked at modular classroom prices and it seems containers are still the cheapest option unless someone knows something I do not.

Good luck with the sale!

Thanks!

Hey would partially or completely burying this container help keep the temperature in check?  I remember seeing a diagram for a modular aquaponics farming setup built outta a container similar to this one.  And they buried it to keep their temperatures with in the desired range.
Edit. Sorry for going a bit off-topic, Good luck with your sale!

Burying this would improve the insulation factor of the container.  However, mining is massive heat generation and removal, so the extra insulation would not be beneficial.  It could be helpful to keep the temp in check for aquaponics or something in a more "normal" temperature range.

Very nice.  I had been thinking about doing this for quite a while, but now on to using modular classrooms.

Thanks!  Nice idea on the modular classrooms too Smiley  I only got to use this for about a year after I got it going before electric prices forced me to shut things down.  It was a lot of fun though!

[WTS] 40' wired shipping container data center

Testing interest for a 40' wired shipping container that was used as a temporary data center.   Post or PM offers if interested.  Located in Kansas City area.

200 amp fuse box mostly full of 240v fuses with a few 120v fuses.
12 - 240v outlet boxes with 4 outlets each
2 - 24" fans able to move around 6300 CFM each. (only one has been wired/used as I found it was plenty to keep what I had in there cool)
Walls/door are modular.  Remove a few screws on any of the existing walls or door and that 4' section of wall can be removed/relocated as needed.
I built this with modularity/expandability in mind.  One could double or triple the power in this container and be able to air cool it in the right environment.  With ~30kw being pulled, it kept the indoor temp at 88F when the outside temp was 85F.

This was built with hot aisle/cold aisle design in mind. Cold aisle on the side with the vents is enclosed when the door is shut.  Hot aisle is currently the rest of the container.  This way cool outside air is pulled straight through the units and hot inside air is not circulated back behind the units.  Eventual plan was to mount an A/C on the roof to blow air into the cold aisle.  Exhaust air from the hot aisle and utilize an air-side economizer as needed.  Never got to go that far though *Sigh*

I can help arrange shipping but buyer is responsible for pickup/shipping and any related costs.

what exactly are you guys even mining?

Isn't it really profitable to mine new coins then dump when they hit exchange?

If you (or anyone) can make it really profitable then you can:

A) buy my farm  (look at my earlier posts to find it)
B) Manage my farm and we can split profits

Post here or PM me and let me know.

Hey OP cool rig and out of my league  just one question?

why the Energy saving Light bulb in that picture when this rig is a power whore?  Cheesy

thought that was cool as hell.

lol... they are kinda standard around here nowadays.  They last longer than incandescent, use less power, and I had spares cause thats all I use in my house Smiley

If power wasn't a concern would GPU mining really be dead?  GPUs are still the only way to mine X11, X13 and X15, among others.

You are correct... GPU mining isnt dead for those who have cheaper power.  This is not a thread saying GPU mining is dead... its just a thread for GPU miner's to post/share their rigs as they retire them.  GPU mining is still very much alive.

Don't know about you. my babies are still shining

Nice!  My electric double for summer prices so that pretty much ended it for me.  Not sure I'm going to hold them till rates drop again (probably not).  Be proud if yours can live on!   Grin

what was the temp in the room ?

The temp in my room was 90-100 Fahrenheit in the summer.  But I had enough A/C and fans to keep the GPU's around 75-80 Celsius.  Worst problem I had was Sapphire Vapor X fan failures :S

I started with a single 5870 prototype back in 2011.  Moved up to 4 x 5970 rigs (wish I had pics of them, but I dont) and it finally grew into me building a shipping container to use as a datacenter to host everything so my relationship would survive, lol... also didnt have the power or A/C in my house to host all the crap, lol.

Here is my farm I'm getting ready to say goodbye to...

GPU's were so much fun and so much of a pain sometimes lol.  We really put ourselves into it.  Goodbye GPU Farm!  RIP

As my GPU mining farm slowly becomes obsolete. I figured it would be nice to have a thread dedicated solely to GPU's Rigs.  This thread is for GPU miners who want to show their work to other GPU miners and talk about the good ol' days as we say goodbye to those GPU rigs that gave us so much frustration, happiness, anger, pride and tears as we built and maintained them throughout the years  Cheesy

Post a bit about when/where you started, what you have now, if you have (had) a significant other, did they survive through the influx of heat and noise into your relationship  Tongue

And anything else you might want to add.  Most of all have fun fellow GPU miner's!

Note:   This is not a thread saying GPU mining is dead... its just a thread for GPU miner's to post/share their rigs as they retire them.  GPU mining is still very much alive.

This makes me sad...I have considered selling my farm off at some point.  I was hoping people wanted them for BTC not dirty analog money.  I have around 160 GPU's mainly 280x..and some 270x.

Makes me sad too....  Man the farm was a pain in the ass sometimes.. but it was a ton of fun!  Maybe we should start a RIP GPU farm thread, lol...  I was hoping to get some BTC instead of dirty money too.

Updated price due to BTC movement.

16k USD or the equivalent BTC is as low I will go.  Will bump this for a few days then start parting the farming out on Ebay.

I feel you will have to go to ebay. I sold half my farm on ebay. I sold only 6 gpus on here so far.

Yea, I figured as much myself... but figured I would give it a shot on here, lol.
