Re: how bitcoin and blockchain technology can be of help to poor countries.

To me I believe that bitcoin and blockchain technology can be of help to poor countries with inadequate infrastructures in numerous ways, if been legalize in those countries.

Bitcoin as a decentralized digital currency can allow peer to peer transations without the need of bank in countries with inadequate infrastructure, just with the use of their mobile devices if been ligalize.

Could you believe that blackchain base microfinance platforms can provide access to credit other financial services to small businesses owners and entrepreneurs in poor countries, if been ligalize.

Bitcoin can make transactions faster and easier and also low cost of remittance in poor countries, if been ligalize.

Bitcoin can be accessible and use through mobile devices in countries with inadequate infrastructures, for payment if been ligalize.

Could you also believe that  bitcoin related projects can make poor countries develop their internet infrastructures, improving connectivity and access to informations, if been ligalize.

There are many other ways also. Like crypto airdrops , these can be like jobs for many in developing countries. The average pay is very less in these countries and most workers are just exploited there. Thus, they can participate in the airdrops and earn good money. I am part of some crypto airdrop groups personally where I see screenshots of different users who are earning good money with these airdrops.

Re: Bitcoin and ocean

Whenever Bitcoin reaches a new ATH it seems people start fantasying it to write poems. I have seen such poems coming up after 2021 Bitcoin ATH. It seems again the same trend is again being used to get a few merits. Not an issue for me personally but these tricks are now getting old and those who are searching for merits should come up with new ones.

Should I be ready for a major correction now ? Because the moment investors get diverted from real benefits and worth of bitcoin to these petty issues, it will result in correction. It is ok to appreciate bitcoin but making poems and comparing it to ocean sounds childish to me.

Who cares about short term price movement. Like if it even goes to $150 k next year, you should not get excited. While a 50% return in less than 6 month sounds very tempting but there are chances of making much higher return if you just buy now and hold for next 10 years. During that duration you will not be making profits but actual wealth that might be enough for you to say goodbye to your job forever.

Re: The misleading FUD of bitcoin going zero $
by

Within a decade ago there were couples of rundown on bitcoin going to zero $, as at then it was a bone of contention but now with bitcoin reaching a new ATH $99k with imminence to break above $100,000,  all of those master plans and orchestrated lies to cause FUD about the future of bitcoin going zero has now lost base.

Today, I can only but imagine the thoughts, reactions and the regrets of those who took those rundowns seriously and failed to invest in bitcoin a decade or some 7, 6 years ago.

Whatever price tag bitcoin goes to, there would always be some people telling that one day it will go to zero. These people belong to following categories:

1) First is one who were not able to buy at lower prices. They are jealous of others and hope the price comes to zero so that others could also not benefit from the purchase.

2) Second category is that who has no or less information about crypto and blockchain. They are more believers in traditional forms of investment and do not trust crypto.

I'm glad I came across this, as I want to grow in my ranks on here, and I've been contemplating how to earn merits or buy a Copper membership and how. So I'm glad I found this, let me make a step. Good luck to Me.

You didn't think you could have a higher rank by paying a small fee, did you?  Wink

Let's ask theymos to add a feature like that for newbies who can't earn merits so that they can rank up again after paying a small fee and make the merit system a failure and spam the shit out of this forum again for bounty earnings just like the past, shall we?  Tongue
That would be a nice idea...
Theymos might implement it on 1st April, 2025. He might likely bring back forum advertisement, 50 BTC donation and more. It will be a good experience next year.
This will be an extra means of generating income for the forum but I do not see it as fair. It's good for every member to grow naturally even as the Copper membership is still good since it has a low limit of ranks, let it end there. It could hurt if some people could buy their way right to the top and some could not even afford the mere Copper membership.

About the reintroduction of the ads, if he did that, it could only mean that is not sure of what he wants in my opinion. I believe there is a reason he wanted to keep the forum clean of ads which I think he should adhere to.

Lastly, I won't shy away from saying that the 50BTC you called just like that is heavy for me. Do you think some people will still be able to donate it with this huge value of Bitcoin? If at all he would do a thing like that, any amount would be a good idea.

No one will pay 50 BTC even to become a merit source here is that it allowed. Forum advertising with that amount is also not going to give positive returns.

When I launched https://bpip.org, there were over 300,000 active members. Now there are 57,000.  That prob has a lot to do with it.

But what is the cause of this ? The forum owners should be interested in identifying the possible causes and taking remedial measures. Like suppose, the search engine rankings are affected, there should be SEO done to attract more new active members on the forum from time to time.

Re: Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ?
by

Bitcoin prices have consistently risen over last 10 years. Does not matter when you bought bitcoin but if you held for long duration in last 10 years, you would never been in any kind of loss. This means that those who have faith in bitcoin can freely invest even in ATH. Because even though a correction occurs on this ATH price, they can still hold for some time till the prices start increasing again. I suggest most of the new investors to keep accumulating bitcoin as per their savings. But one should not invest more than what one can afford to loose as bitcoin is still very much volatile.

Re: I'm curious about your thoughts on when Bitcoin might hit $1,000,000
by
brownn

I don't really want to click on the link. But I do know what I would do if BTC hits $1,000,000. I would buy a house, and then I would buy back BTC when it dumps.

That means you are holding good amount of bitcoin as houses are costly in U.S. But most of the members here might be holding only in fractions and they will be tempted to sell at earlier growth itself because no one has the patience to hold till $1000000. Also, I feel that there will be multiple cycles before that happens consisting of current bull run being followed by bear market and then again a bull run. Bear market can run as long as 2-3 years also and thus to reach to $1000000 mark, we might have to wait quite a bit.

Merits 2 from 1 user

⭐ Merited by arhipova (2)
So, for example if a merit source has 1000 smerits to send at his disposal, technically it is 1500 merits that can be distributed.

It will be more than 1500. 1000 merit receivers will have 500. Now this 500 merit receivers can send 250 and so on.

Re: [TOP-200] The most generous users giving merits

Few people gave 50+ merit on a single post. Is it too must useful post? Or is it really appropriate to receive 50+ merit on such a post?

Sometimes the reputation of the person making the post also matters.
