It's harder to scam people nowadays, so no motivation to create new coins.

Onion domain and your own wallets implementations, that's actually cool.

There are to many swap services that just an intermediates of the few liquidity providers.

I would consider using your exchange for non kyc swaps after you gain more online uptime. Time will show.

If you can add Grin support that would be great too.

Grin is surely still a thing.

But unfortunately, gamblers estimating projects in terms of hype and money making (or loosing) not in terms of tech innovations, though it's hard to understand for non techy people which project is truly innovative among the ocean of shitcoins and scam coins.

Grin is the only altcoin which adds something interesting to Bitcoin and complements it, without sacrificing on security or decentralization.

Grin adds enhanced privacy and more scalable blockchain comparing to Bitcoin, with the tradeoffs of interactive transactions and non auditable coin supply (though the cryptography verifies no extra coins minted).

Grin itself is innovative and doesn't need to hype around adding new "features" just to satisfy gambling behavior of the masses.

The development is still ongoing, AFAIK, the most interesting feature is mwixnet, which is going to break linkability in transactions graph and put Grin into the fully privacy coins league, competing with Monero.

But the most exciting feature of Grin coin is ONE GRIN PER SECOND FOREVER. The most fair launch, without early users advantage, same distribution rate for all no matter when you joined the network. Even Bitcoin can't compete with that. The more time past, the more Grin become valuable due to fair distribution.

At the moment both CLI and GUI wallets works well. But the wallets are full nodes, so you need to sync the blockchain before you can start using it.

From pure speculative point of view, seed investors bought 4.11M coins for $5.3M, that's $1.28 per coin. Horowitz and Sequoia bought 6.17M coins for $27.6M, that's $4.47. And current price is around $1.33. So, this is rather rare opportunity to buy the coins cheaper than Horowitz and Sequoia. Anything below $5 looks like a great price to invest.

Also excited about the upcoming PoW algorithm change, to make it more GPU friendly. As there are no much profitable GPU coins nowadays, this can bring attention from mining community. Lolliedieb is working on it, the developer of lolminer software. So Ironfish team definitely have cash to continue the development of the project.

Since the above post, the price is up 250%, hashrate doubled.

It's still great opportunity to buy below $4.47 which is the price paid by Horowitz and Sequoia for the coin.

Several recent updates:
1. Plans to incorporate new mining algo code into node software in the first week of January 2024, so anyone can start testing it.
2. Node release with new command added 'ironfish wallet:notes:combine', this helps to workaround an issue with stuck transactions on wallets with lots of small inputs.
3. Plans for an official mobile wallet in Q1 2024.

📣  Iron Fish v1.14.0 has been released!

Here are some of the major changes:
* Sending a transaction in the CLI now shows a summary of the transaction, including spends and outputs, before sending it. 🙌
* We now display a clearer error when passing --path and an invalid argument to the wallet:import command.
* The `wallet/getAccountsStatus` RPC now returns whether an account is view-only, and we added `wallet/getAccountStatus` for fetching a single account's status. There are some breaking changes to these RPCs, so please see the release notes below.
* The `peer/addPeer` RPC now waits for the node to connect to the peer before returning.
* Fixed a time-related case where snapshot downloads could unexpectedly time out.

Here are the full release notes: https://github.com/iron-fish/ironfish/releases/tag/v1.14.0

In today's monthly dev call they were talking about bridges, official mobile wallet and ambassador program.

Bridges. They are discussing technical details with several bridge operators to bring support to Ironfish. They mentioned 3 of them and provided ETA Q3 2024.

Official mobile wallet. Despite the fact that there is already Foxwallet mobile wallet, they want to create an official one. The work just started, no ETA provided.

Ambassador program. They are going to hire ambassadors for the project. As I understand this is a step towards marketing campaign. Pretty cool.

Besides the above, they were talking about the work happening on node and wallet, bug fixes and SDK code refactoring.

How is IRON doing?  I have not heard much since the launch.
They constantly improving their node and wallet, still several issues needed to be fixed.

Next major thing is algo change. Lolliedieb is working on new GPU friendly algo. It seems it will be soon started tested on testnet.

In terms of price, IRON bottomed around $0.5 and started recovering.

Iron Fish v1.13.0 has been released!

What's Changed
* Updated the SDK to now run on Node 20 LTS https://github.com/iron-fish/ironfish/pull/4434
* Added sorting for peers command https://github.com/iron-fish/ironfish/pull/4442
* Whitelisted nodes are now not disconnected https://github.com/iron-fish/ironfish/pull/4444
* Adding ability to select notes in the transaction send command by https://github.com/iron-fish/ironfish/pull/4465

Note Selection in 'ironfish wallet:send'
You can now pass note hashes to `ironfish wallet:send` command to force the wallet to use these notes in the transaction.

Example
Code:
ironfish wallet:send \
    --note 72e91d6672d79f9006f128a16cf52bbb585037fee2aea8385b56919c3ac9570b \
    --note 4a5feb193d425fa73abfb108027a643eb027e46684c50e2bef5d66ea48ec3d2d \
    --note f8b91f81caf4489c83734c2b29ad4587c9ba0c1080854a3f6da19f6fad49265e

NOTE: If you specify notes, and it's not enough for the send amount, the wallet will add extra notes to fund the transaction.

Iron Fish v1.12.0 has been released!

## Notable Changes

Removing support for NodeJS v16; adding support for NodeJS v20 and beyond. The node now requires a minimum version of NodeJS v18 instead of _only_ NodeJS v18, so we can more easily support new NodeJS versions as they are released.

Block syncing speed should be improved. The node will regularly measure the connection of some peers to try to find a faster peer to sync from. The first time this occurs is 2 minutes after the node starts syncing, then 4, 8, 16.. up to a maximum of once per 60 minutes.

Nodes should be able to find peers faster and more consistently.

Added a `keepOpenPeerSlot` config option (default false). When set to true, a node will disconnect from a peer if it is at maxPeers, so that the node will always allow an incoming connection instead of reaching the maximum number of peers and rejecting incoming connections.
